With a gasp, Nova awoke in a sweat. She lifted herself into a sitting position. Confused, Nova observed where she was. Looking down, she saw herself on a cot in a room.  A thick bandage wrapped around her torso. She instinctively touched it, but quickly moved her arm back as it stung.

"Look who's awake," a feminine voice said. Nova quickly looked around, spotting the female figure in the doorway. The girl wavy brown hair that just passed her waist, and was wearing a red plaid shirt with jeans. "I'm Jade."

"N-Nova," Nova spoke, her throat dry and her voice faint. She tried moving out of the cot, but her body decided against it. "Where am I?"

"You are at my house," Jade told her, "though I should be asking how you got here. I found you laying on the floor." Jade walked closer to her, in her hand she held a glass of water. "Drink"

Nova took the glass gratifully from the girls hand. She gulped it down, feeling hydrated. "Thank you."

"No problem," the girl, now known as Jade, said, taking the glass back. "I still wonder how you got here. Do you know how?"

"I-I can't remember." Nova felt worry enter her mind. Why couldn't she remember? Where exactly was she? "What planet am I on?"

Jade laughed, "You're on Earth, of course, everyone is on Earth. Why do you ask?" Nova felt weird. She was on Earth? She thought Earth was inhabitable. 

"Earth?" This clearly must be a dream, she shouldn't be on Earth. She might not remember her family and things, but she does remember that she isn't supposed to be on Earth. "I'm not suppose to be here."

Jade crouched down next to her, her green orbs scanning the girl. "Y-You aren't from here, are you?" 

Nova shifted uneasily. "No, I am not." She stared back at Jade, wondering why the girl stuttered.  Jade sighed, finally standing up. She walked over towards a dresser, "take this."

Jade handed her a set of clothes. "The bathroom is over there." Jade walked out of the room going to who knows where. Nova looked at the clothes, feeling the material. They looked, well, different. She scooted her body to the edge of the cot, and lifted herself off. Her legs wobbled at first, but she found balance a second later. Soreness settled in her legs, but she ignored the pain and walked to the bathroom.

She opened the door to the bathroom. Inside was small, but well taken care of. Nova glanced at the mirror inside. Observing herself, Nova's brown hair wrapped gently around her back, her greyish eyes looked right back at her, a faint purple inside of them. She touched her face, feeling the smooth surface of her cheek.

She placed the clothes in her hand on the gentle marble sink. The clothes Jade gave her were a grey tank top with high waist skinny jeans, a jean jacket, and white sneakers. Nova swiftly changed into the clothes, then stared at herself in the mirror.

"I look... Different."
