Two days have passed since your battle against Rose Quartz. There is still five days left before you have to give Rose Quartz an answer AKA Pink Diamond about your decision. But even when you've been thinking about an answer, you didn't know what decision to take or wich one was the correct. You couldn't just join the crystal gems because that would imply fighting against Yellow Diamond and Homeworld, your creator and your home. But you couldn't keep attacking Rose Quartz and the crystal gems either. That would mean that you would have to shatter Pink Diamond and a group of innocent gems. Indecision and mental conflict are eating you from the inside, you couldn't tell anyone about this and you didn't know what to do. The only thing you could do was to continue with your duties as a general of the military forces. Even if Ash didn't know what was happening to you, she realized that something was disturbing you. Ash tried to cheer you up these last days, but nothing seemed to work. The times that Ash asked you if something was wrong, you simply gave her simple and empty answers like "do not worry" or "everything is fine". 

Right now you are in your temple, answering messages from other colonies from other planets and organizing your soldiers on Earth in a defensive way.Although you don't want to fight against Rose Quartz, you didn't want your soldiers to continue this war. But you had to keep a profile that you were still working to stop the rebellion. 

Ash: How are you feeling today, Master Onyx?

Onyx: I'm fine.

Ash: Are you sure? You still look a little sad.

Onyx: Sad?

Ash: These last days, you seem distracted and depressed, as if Yellow Diamond had scolded you.

Onyx: I'm not sad... I'm just damn boring for not being able to find Rose Quartz.

You had to lie, you couldn't tell the truth to anyone, not even Ash.

Ash: Do you want me to sing a song to entertain you a bit, Master Onyx?

Onyx: I would love to hear you sing, but I still have work to do.

???: Let me go!

Onyx: Huh?

Outside the doors of your throne chamber, you could hear the sounds of multiple heavy steps and someone saying "let me go" and "I can explain". Suddenly, the doors of the throne chamber were opened by a Holy Yellow Agate and two Topaz soldiers that were dragging... Lapis?! This really caught your attention and you temporarily turned off the panel that was in front of you. The Topaz soldiers stopped in front of your throne while still retaining Lapis, While the Yellow Agate bowed in front of you, forming a diamond with herr hands.

Ash: What is the meaning of this?!

Yellow Agate: I apologize for my rudeness, General Onyx. But I have my reasons to think that this Lapis Lazuli is one of the crystal gems!

You looked directly at Lapis, she was desperate and terrified of what could happen. 

Onyx: That is a very severe accusation, I hope you have proof of this.

Lapis: Please! Let me explain! I-

Yellow Agate: Shut up! 

The Yellow Agate slapped Lapis in the face. This for some reason made you really angry and you squeezed the armrest of your throne, breaking it a little.

Yellow Agate: These last few days, This Lapis Lazuli has been sneaking out of the tower that is under my care! I recently sent one of my soldiers to spy on her and she always went to the same forest again and again! 

Onyx(mind): Could it be the same forest?

Yellow Agate: I have the theory that she is giving information to the rebels in that forest! And if she is telling the truth and is not giving away information, in that case I will punish her for not fulfilling her duties!

Ash: But why did you bring this Lapis Lazuli to my master? As an Agate, you have the authority to handle this situation!

Yellow Agate: The only reason why I'm bothering General Onyx with this absurd situation is because this Lapis Lazuli claims to be in that forest because she was following the orders of the general! She should be shatter for being a liar and a traitor!

Once again, you look directly at Lapiz's eyes. She lied to an Agate officer and now she was desperate. What Lapis did was wrong and it could have put you in a lot of trouble. But you had to make a decision about this...

(Lapis POV)

What have I done? The only thing I achieved was to get into more trouble, if only I had listened to the other Lapis Lazuli this wouldn't have happened. Not only that, I don't know why I lied about Onyx? I heard a couple of steps approaching me and when I looked up, Onyx was in front of me. Is Onyx going to shatter me here? Maybe... What the others said about him was really true...

Onyx: She is not lying, I assigned her a reconnaissance mission in that forest.

Yellow Agate/Ash: What?!

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Onyx wasn't only helping me, he was lying... For me?

Yellow Agate: B-But... But why would you assign that mission to a Lapis Lazuli?!

Onyx: Because a Lapis Lazuli flying over a forest attracts less attention than an army of Quartz soldiers.

Yellow Agate: But then why didn't you inform me of this mission?!

Onyx: Are you implying...

The temperature of the place started to increase considerably. But what I saw next surprised me completely. Onyx had transformed into some sort of creature made of fire.

Onyx: THAT I'M LYING?

The Yellow Agate got completely scared when she saw Onyx in that form and she quickly placed her arms in front of herself in a surrender manner.

Yellow Agate: No No No No! I would never doubt of your word, great general Onyx! YOU TWO, LET GO THAT LAPIS LAZULI! 

The Topaz soldiers let go of my arms I and rubbed my wrists because they hurt.

Yellow Agate: I will take back this Lapis Lazuli to the tower and let her keep doing her job.

Onyx: Actually... She will stay here for now.

Me: W-What?

Yellow Agate: Excuse me?

Onyx: I need to discuss a couple of things with my spy. Now, if you mind...

Yellow Agate: O-Of course!

The soldiers Topaz and Yellow Agate bowed in front of Onyx and quickly left the throne chamber. Onyx just saved my gem and I wanted more than anything to thank him for what he did. But when I saw him, Onyx was pinching his forehead... Maybe he's not so happy about this. 

Ash: So she is your spy?

...

...

...

Ash: I'm not buying that.

The Pearl that was next to Onyx kept looking at me as if she hated me more than anything else... She is a little scary.

(No ones POV)

Onyx: What were you thinking?!

Lapis: I-I'm sorry! 

Onyx: Do you have an idea of what could have happened?

Lapis: They found me in the forest and threatened with shatter me! I was scared, I did not know what to do, and you were the only thing that came to mind at that moment! I'm SO sorry!

For some reason, it made you happy to hear that Lapis thought of you. But you woke up from your thoughts when you felt Ash tapping your shoulder.

Ash: Who is she?

Onyx: Right... Ash, she is Lapis Lazuli. I ran into her in the woods two days ago. Lapis, she is Ash. My personal pearl and my right hand.

Ash/Lapis: Hi...

Ash and Lapis looked at each other in a somewhat... Alarming way for you. For some reason, you felt that you would be shattered if you try say something about that.

Ash: If she is not your spy, then what was she doing in the forest?

Onyx: Yeah... What were you doing there?

Lapis: I-I...

You put a hand on Lapis's shoulder to try to give her a little more confidence so she can tell you the truth.

Onyx: I saved you a few seconds ago, no one is going to hurt you here.

Lapis smiled as she nodded with her head. Ash just looked in another direction with an annoyed expression.

Lapis: I... I was dancing in the forest.

Onyx/Ash: Dancing?

Lapis: I know it sounds stupid and I'm not supposed to do that. But every time I dance, I have a feeling of freedom and joy that I have never felt before! 

Ash: Well... I can't blame you for that.

Lapis: Huh?

Ash: Although I love to work for master Onyx, I also enjoy organizing and decorating the temple. 

Onyx: That would explain all the statues at the entrance and the weapons on the walls.

Ash: You don't like it?

Onyx: I like what you did here, the decorations keep this place alive.

Your comment made Ash blush a little while she put one of her hands on her left cheek. Now it was Lapis the one who was looking at Ash with a little annoyance.

Onyx: We are changing the subject here. *Sigh* Since it is not convenient to send you back with that Agate, you will have to stay here. 

Ash: She is going to stay here?

Lapis: But-

Onyx: It is a risk for everyone to send you back to the tower... I'm sorry, Lapis. But you will have to stay here in my temple from now on.

Lapis: I... I see...

Onyx: The only thing I'm asking you, is to tell me when are you going to the forest.

Lapis: That means-

Onyx: You can still go and dance all you want.

(Lapis POV)

Is this supposed to be the infernal gem? Onyx saved me, lied for me, and he is even protecting me. What everyone says about Onyx is a mistake! Despite having a completely black gem, what's inside of him is purer than the stars! But why... Why I can't take my eyes from off him?

I hate myself because I often say something and then I end up doing the opposite xD
