Ceaderstripe pads alongside Hemlockheart and her kits. She spots Cocoapaw and Brightpaw and remembers what she had heard earlier.
"Cocoapaw, Brightpaw," Ceaderstripe runs to their right and matches the paces of the two young cats, "I heard rumor that-"
"Brightpaw, " Froststar steps between Cocoapaw and Brightpaw.
"Yes Froststar?" Brightpaw tilts their head.
"I believe it is time for you to become a warrior," Froststar smiles.
"That's what I was going to say!" Ceaderstripe huffs.
"Are you ready?" Hazelstripe approaches on Brightpaws left.
"Yeah!" Brightpaw nods excitedly, "where's Sunsparkle? I want her in the very front to watch me take my new name."
"I'll go get her!" Cocoapaw dashes into the crowd ahead of them to search.
"Let's get to the front of the group!" Ceaderstripe suggests, "its a big moment for you that should be shared!"
Brightpaw nods and the group; Froststar, Ceaderstripe, Brightpaw, and Hazelstripe run to the front of the group, being careful as they weave through gaps.
Froststar skids to a halt in the front of the group, "we're taking a break!" He declares.
Cats sigh their relief and many sit on the spot.
"Today one of our apprentices is becoming a warrior," Froststars voice carry's through the crowd.
Ceaderstripe catches a glimpse of the surprised look on the Oceanclan apprentices faces.
"Brightpaw will be getting their warrior name today," Froststar looks to the young cat before looking back to the crowd.
All of the prophecy cats work their way to the front of the group, along with Hemlockheart's kits. Cocoapaw nods to Sunsparkle by his side and Brightpaw and Sunsparkle share a look of excitement.
Ceaderstripe sits beside Hemlockheart, her kits rolling around in front of them.
"Hush, sit up. This is an important moment for Brightpaw," Hemlockheart whispers.
The kits stop rolling and sit, paws neatly together.
"Brightpaw," Brightpaw turns to Froststar as he says their name, "do you promise to uphold the warrior code even at the cost of your life?"
"I do," Brightpaw nods.
Cocoapaw laughs, "you've done a great job at it so far!"
Brightpaw turns to him and laughs, "oh hush," they roll their eyes before turning back to Froststar, "don't listen to him."
"Then, with Starclans approval," Froststar drops his voice a bit, "and hopefully Leafstar's as well," he goes back to his previous volume, "you will be known as Fadedwing, by your own request. You are welcomed as a full warrior, by all of us."
"Fadedwing!" Ceaderstripe starts the chanting.
"Fadedwing!" The rest of the prophecy cats join in, Hemlockhearts kits included.
Soon all of Oceanclan seems to be chanting their new name. No longer known as Brightpaw, born female, they were now Fadedwing a non binary warrior.
Fadedwing runs to Sunsparkle and they squeal excitedly.
