Paint and Feathers

Becca sat in her garden with her pet parrot, Paint. The beautiful turquoise bird was having a blast weaving through the air, quickly hopping between the swing on the ceiling, the rock outcroppings, the vines covering the ceiling... anywhere except the bird post the blonde had set up for the parrot.

"You know you could chill out and land on the post for five seconds, right?" She called to the bird.

Paint stopped in midair and looked at Becca with a beady, unimpressed eye.

Becca rolled her eyes in return. "I literally just want a picture..." Becca had been idly trying to get wing references for drawing characters with wings and flying, but Paint completely realized that and was being troublesome with it.

Paint landed and swung on his swing. Becca immediately reached for her phone and brought up her camera, trying to get how Paint held his wings slightly curved outward from his body—

Only for the stupid parrot to take off again.

"Oh come on!"

Paint squawked humorously and flew behind Becca, out of her sight.

The blonde sighed and shook her head. "You stupid bird..."

She wouldn't admit it, but she really liked her pet parrot. Becca had never been an animal person, and never got attached to things she knew could and would eventually leave her. So when the few seeds she had fed the Wild Bird in the jungle with Molly suddenly had him sitting on her shoulder, the blonde had been surprised and dreadful to say the least.

But now she could say Paint was so far the only animal she had really gotten attached to in her life. She was now trying to protect the sassy bird from greater beings while also trying to protect her dignity by acting like a weird tsundere about him to others. It was totally obvious she really loved Paint, but it was also fun to try and badly pretend she found him annoying.

Paint chirped and mimicked a spider sound behind Becca.

"Screw you, Paint, you know I don't like spiders," she grumbled and waved her hand underneath her lounger to shoo out her bird.

Instead, her hand touched something light and fine and definitely not supposed to be there.

Becca screeched and pulled her hand back.

"I SWEAR TO NOTCH IF THATS SOME SORT OF SPIDERWEB—"

She turned around to see no cobweb or beady-eyed spider, but instead Paint with one of his feathers in his beak and an evil twinkle in his eye. Becca started at him.

"You've got to be kidding me. Paint, you JERK!" She yelled and rolled off her lounger and flailed her arms where Paint was hiding. The turquoise parrot squawked and took off, hiding in the top branches of their sheltered overhang. The feather drifted to the ground into Becca's lap.

"Well isn't this a perfectly ironic scene."

An idea popped into the blonde's head. She quickly took the feather by the stalk and stood up, examining it with a curious expression. She heard Paint chirp curiously from above, although Becca had already decided she was giving him the cold shoulder for a bit. She headed inside her cave and down the stairs to her storage room.

I have a feather, I just need some flint and a stick...

She quickly grabbed those and went back upstairs to her workroom and took to the crafting bench. Shoving the materials into the memorized crafting pattern, Becca watched as they formed an arrow, but the fletching wasn't just a white chicken feather.

"Sweet," Becca said to herself with a smirk. "This is super cool! I don't know how I did this but I'll take it."

She skipped to her anvil that was in the same room and wrote down a name for the special projectile.

THE Arrow.

Becca picked it back up and examined the arrow. Smiling at her discovering, she pulled out her infinity bow and nocked the arrow, drawing it back just a touch.

Time to scare some revenge into that little birdbrain!

No I'm not about to kill Paint just show off that I did something cool with his little prank XD

Also I actually do have an arrow renamed "THE Arrow." For my infinity bow, but clearly the rest of that is just for fun

A cool idea though... what if that's what the fletching table is for? Tipped arrows and different bird feathers from the parrots?
