Hey! So it's going to be an unscheduled, oddly timed updates for this story because I have no sense of time, day, date anymore except for the time I fill my files (and leave from work, lol)

Anyway! Aryan's POV you guys!

He's super adorable in this chapter I promise!

Enjoy!

She was wearing a sari! Damn her! Why would she wear a sari? Didn't she know what impact she had on every male when she wore a sari?

Her suits were fine, so were her occasional pant and shirt, but sari...it took away Aryan's ability to think.

"Good morning everyone!" Rishi started the announcement.

Rishi stood in the middle with Aryan was on his left and Naina was on his right. Aryan was glad he couldn't see her right now or he wouldn't stop staring.

It was deep blue sari that she was wearing. The blouse seemed a little low from the back and the sleeves were shorter. She hadn't covered her waist like she had the first time Aryan had seen her. It was covered mind you, but it wasn't totally hidden like the last time and it was very distracting. Damn him and his thoughts!

"We have a big announcement coming up today," Rishi continued. "As you all know, it has been a great year of sales for us as well as the London headquarters led by my brother Aryan." There was a loud round of applause. "And given the performance and the vacancy of the Deputy Sales and the Sales Manager, it has been decided by me, Aryan and the board that Manoj Khanna would be the Deputy Sales Manager," He announced as the crowd applauded.

"Manoj, I hope you handle the job as well as Deepak did," Rishi said as Manoj, the guy with less hair and no sense of humor stood up and walked towards them. Everyone shook hands as the applause settled down.

"Now for the Sales Manager, it was very obvious for us, seeing the performance and the growth rate of this candidate. There was no doubt as we chose Naina Mathur to be the new Sales Manager and Pankaj Jain to assist Manoj and Naina as the Assistant Sales Manager," Rishi said.

Aryan saw the difference. There was a round of applause, but it came majorly from the board. Hardly anyone clapped loud enough for Naina. Aryan didn't like it. She was a talented young girl and no one acknowledged it. So instead, Aryan started clapping loudly as Naina conveyed her thanks.

Soon there were loud claps from all around. Aryan did sneak a glance to see that Naina actually did have tears in her eyes. Those beautiful green eyes were wet, and they weren't the tears of happiness.

What bothered him was even after achieving so much in such a short period of time, Naina had no appreciation from her family. They had supported her enough to send her to Delhi from Jaipur, but weren't happy when their daughter was promoted.

As the announcements finished and the crowd had scattered, Aryan made sure that the lunch served was the best. He wouldn't have done it if he hadn't seen the look on Naina's face when he asked her about her friends and family. All he could ask himself was why? Why this gorgeous green eyed woman didn't have any friends and why her family wasn't supportive?

As the staff and the board enjoyed their meals, Aryan saw Naina sitting in a corner with a plate in front of her and not eating. He didn't understand the reason she wasn't mingling. He saw the two receptionists gossiping with a few other ladies. He saw Pankaj and Manoj sitting with the other guys in the sales department laughing and joking around. He also didn't miss the looks most of the men in the room were giving Naina. But Naina was oblivious to them all was sitting in a corner, fiddling with her food, sadness evident in her eyes.

Aryan decided he had waited for a long time now. He excused himself from Rishi motioning him that he'd be right back and took his plate and took the seat on Naina's table right across her.

As if realizing there was a sudden movement, Naina looked up and Aryan did not expect to see tears which threatened to fall from her eyes.

"Can I help you something, Sir?" Naina asked.

"By explaining why you aren't mingling," Aryan was straightforward and blunt.

"No one likes me," Wasn't the answer Aryan expected as Naina looked away from him as she eyed a few girls giggling a few tables away. "I didn't try much, but when I did I was evidently shown that I wasn't welcomed. Apart from Nafeeza, no one would talk to me more than they needed to," Were the words which shocked Aryan as Naina looked at him.

"I won't lie to you, Mr. Narain. You are the only person who thought enough to keep me company. Thank you for that. I know you'd be mentoring me and I don't want to lie. I'm socially awkward. I don't do well in small talk. This could be mistaken for an attitude problem or let me be defined as an egotistical person. I am used to it by now so you don't have to pity me anymore. I am fine, homesick, but fine," She said.

Her voice hinted tiredness and sadness otherwise was perfectly professional. Whoever taught this lady how to keep it to business was one hell of a teacher.

"You like to read, don't you?" Aryan asked. Naina looked highly confused by his sudden change of topic.

"I do. How did you know?" Naina asked.

"I saw Gone with the Wind in your bag the other day," Aryan shrugged as he continued eating his food.

"Oh. I like reading. They are the only things that keep me company, like a best friend," Naina's eyes lit up. She unconsciously took a bite from her food. Aryan smiled.

"What genres do you like?" Aryan asked.

"Romance mostly. I have a collection back at home, a few here as well," Naina told him, eating simultaneously.

"Do you know the places to get books in cheaper rates yet?" Aryan asked.

"I have heard about a few. I didn't get the chance of visiting them at all," Naina told him.

"You know, I have an old friend of mine who owns a bookshop here in Delhi. I can give you the address, you can go there. Take my name and you'll get a good discount," Aryan told her.

The mention of this had made sadness in her eyes disappear. There were no traces of tears anywhere. What Aryan saw was pure excitement and enthusiasm.

"Thank you, Sir. I would be very grateful to you for that," Naina smiled widely. And that was what Aryan was waiting for. This smile of hers was bigger and brighter than the one saw when he had apologised to her about the time they collided. It was a bigger smile than the one he received when he told her about her promotion.

This smile almost had him lose his breath and look at her. She had the most beautiful smile he had ever seen and God knew, Aryan Narain now had a weakness.

"Not a problem. If you need any help, you can always contact me or Rishi, we would be happy to help you," Aryan assured her.

"You have been nothing, but nice to me. I cannot thank you enough," Naina still had that smile on her face.

"You can thank me by being a quick learner so I don't have to teach you a lot. I mean I have very less patience," Aryan said making Naina laugh.

"I promise. I won't test your patience at all. I'll be a good student," She laughed.

God! That laugh was melody itself.

Aryan didn't know how he could control himself if she laughed like that. For god sakes! He wasn't funny!

"Someone is having a party!" Rishi's voice broke their moment and Naina became the professional Naina he always saw.

"Aryan Sir is helping me around the city," Naina told him.

"Aryan Sir is a generous man. He might even give his car if you asked nicely," Rishi said as he sat down on the seat between Aryan and Naina.

"Shut up!" Aryan gave his brother a flat look.

"What? I'm serious!" Rishi defended, but Aryan still wanted to strangle his brother.

Rishi had put two and two together when Aryan said he would mentor Naina himself. He understood that the only reason Aryan wasn't ready to go back to London just yet was Naina. Rishi and his wife Keerti, Aryan's sister-in-law had teased Aryan to no end. Their younger sister Aarti had got a whiff of it too and was now on Aryan's heels to meet the girl who had managed to steal Aryan's heart in one look.

"You guys can joke around, I have a few things to take care," Aryan said as he stood up stuffing his hands in his pockets. It was something he did when either he was nervous or lying. "I'll see you after the party, Naina. Be ready," Aryan said and left.

Why did Rishi have to intrude? He was having a jolly good time knowing Naina!

Aryan sighed, he would have a lot of time while mentoring her.

Aryan admitted he wasn't one of the charming guys with a good sense of humor, but there was something he knew. Aryan Narain was never going to let Naina Mathur be sad, even if he had to buy her a whole library.
