Kingdom of Fenn, Western Region, Nishinomiyako

Nishinomiyako, on the west end of the Kingdom of Fenn, would become the front line of a war with the Parpaldia Empire, so about 2,000 warriors were stationed there for that eventuality. About 3 kilometers west of Nishinomiyako, there was a small, uninhabited island. A watchtower was built on this island to monitor for an invasion from Parpaldia, and two warriors were permanently stationed there as lookouts.

"I can't believe the Pangeans turned their backs on us." Mumbled by one of the lookouts.

"Indeed, I don't know what the Superpowers wants from us." The other lookout reply.

The lookouts noticed numerous small dots off in the distance. As the dots gradually grew larger, so did the lookouts sense of dread as they made out what they were.

"Th-They...they're finally coming! It's the Parpaldian imperial army! Send up the smoke signals!"

Upon seeing the red smoke, the watchman in Nishinomiyako immediately ordered the emergency whistle to be sounded. The warriors who heard the whistle would blow their own whistles to propagate the alert. The entire town of Nishinomiyako was filled with the sound of whistles, and all the citizens of Fenn knew what it meant.

From the port of Nishinomiyako, about five kilometers inland at the western castle, preparations for war were now underway. Even in the military quarters in Nishinomiyako, warriors were getting ready for battle. Finally, even though they were waiting for it, the superpower Parpaldia Empire's army was finally coming. They knew that they were overwhelmingly outmatched by technological margin, but still... they did not intend to lose!

Parpaldia Empire, imperial army

General Cius received a report. The wyvern lords from the dragon carrier were already in the skies above Nishinomiyako and were conducting reconnaissance. Nishinomiyako didn't have a large army; the only strategic locations of note were the western castle a bit inland and the military quarters near the port. The imperial army didn't encounter any enemies during their journey, factoring in the report from the Ironclad Fleet that they had eradicated Fenn's navy, it seemed that Fenn no longer had any naval forces.

"We need to secure the coastline first and foremost..."

He needed the beachhead in order to get his troops onto land; he wasn't naive enough to believe that they could just dock at the port, it could lead to a possible ambush. There was only one wide coast near Nishinomiyako, so he decided to lay anchor there. Based on aerial surveillance, there were only some thin, wooden barriers blocking the coast.

"First, we will fire our ships' cannons at the military quarters near the port and destroy that. Then, we will destroy the wooden barriers blocking the coast as well. After that is done, one thousand infantry will form the first landing battalion and disembark to secure the beachhead. Finally, we will unload our lightweight tanks and our main weaponry."

"Yes sir!!!"

General Cius orders went out across the entire army.

The battle between Parpaldia and Fenn started when all the Ironclads in the imperial army fired at once. These attacks gave birth to deafening explosions... Every cannon shell caused another peal of thunder... The previously-quiet town quickly turned into a burning landscape of Hell. The military quarters fell after six shells. All across the town, flames and smoke rose up into the air.

Citizens ran around, panicked, trying to flee the destruction. Cannon shells showered down on them mercilessly. The Parpaldian army's barrage was relentless, pulverizing the port and the wooden barriers. From the sea, the only things they could see still standing on the coast were broken trees.

The Parpaldian small landing boat was heading towards the coast of Fenn, they were carrying over a thousand personnels equip with state-of-the-art bolt action rifles with bayonet underneath the barrel. These rifles could fire up to 20-30 aimed shots per minute, armed with .303-calibre ammunition with a rimmed cartridge carried in a 10-round box magazine. The magazine could also be loaded with five-round clips or single rounds. Easy to use and easy to reload thanks to their Muish counterparts. In the larger landing boats their newest state-of-the-art tanks imported from Mu, these tanks with a crew of 2, a commander/gunner and a driver, they have a weight of 6.5 tonnes and armed with 8mm machine gun or 37mm cannon enough to be carried by the landing boats, they were also accompanied by the Land Dragons. The vanguard in the eradication of the barbarians in the Kingdom of Fenn.

Capturing the beachhead would be an easy task, especially since there was no cover on the coast and bows couldn't reach them from the nearby forest. The catapult that was near the military quarters was also already destroyed during the magic cannon barrage earlier.

"Such easy work."

Arma the squad leader of 1st infantry battalion, 3rd platoon. He looked at the coast from inside a small landing boat. His expression was relaxed.

Then he thought about the war on the other side.

"I wonder what the Pangean Army looked like?" He thought to himself while imagining the new ally's soldiers and their weaponry.

Almost the entire Parpaldian empire believed that they would definitely be victorious, and with nearly no casualties at that. The landing boats reached the coast. The entire infantry battalion, Land Dragons, and Light Tanks had disembark. There was no counteroffensive from Fenn. The soldiers spread out to check the area for oddities.

Arma noticed that some patches of the coast had a slightly different color.

Suddenly, warriors with helmets the color of the sand wielding long curved blades emerged from under the ground all over the coast.

"It's an ambush!"

The Fenn warriors swing their swords at the Parpaldian soldiers, incapacitating either their heads, arms, or legs in the process while screaming out in both war cries and agony.

Arma aimed his sight at the incoming warriors in his way, they were 3 of them currently charging at him.

Pulling the trigger as the loud bang followed by a bullet that flies at high speed before making a mark on the head of the Fenn warrior as the blood burst out at the back of its head.

Lifting the bolt handle up and pulling it to the rear as the empty cartridge flies off from the chamber with fresh smoke, before Arma pushing the bolt handle back and bringing the handle down while hearing the satisfying click, indicating a new round entered the chamber.

Firing once again and hitting another target in the chest before repeating the process of the bolt action sequence, but the last Fenn warrior was charging at him at full speed with its sword raised up high, ready to strike Arma down.

Arma prepared his rifle to be the shield from the impending strike, since he can't use his bayonet due to close proximity range and the disadvantage of very long and vulnerable rifle than the sword making him a few seconds late to dodge.

BANG

The Fenn warrior stumbled in the ground like a ragdoll with its face hit first.

Looking behind him, Arma gazed at his savior which is his lieutenant and best friend from childhood, Elrod in his age of 40s.

Elrod came to the side of his friend who was surprised.

"Are you okay?" Elrod asked in concern.

"I'm fine... Look out!" Arma yelled, before pushing Elrod out of his way then firing his rifle at the sneaking Fenn warrior, killing instantly.

Elrod looked at his friend before smiling.

"I say we're even." He said before they returned back in action.

3 light tanks and 6 Land Dragons started to make its way to the battlefield while giving a firing support for the Parpaldian forces that was overwhelmed with numerical numbers by the Fenn warriors.

The 8mm machine guns from the light tanks sprang into action, killing dozens of warriors left and right, mercilessly with its high rate of fire.

The Land Dragons on the other hand, unleashed their deadly fire breaths like a flamethrower towards the unsuspecting warriors armed with swords as they screamed in agony.

The warriors of Fenn started to feel hopeless at the battle against the 3rd world superpower, they started to realize that they should accept the offers from the Parpaldian Empire, but they can't accept it due to ridiculous statements in exchange of large amount of slaves to flourish their living standards turning them into a civilized state even they are out of bounds of civilized sphere.

But now it's too late, the Nishinomiyako was fall into the hands of the Parpaldian Imperial army.

The battle ended in just span of 5 hours with decisive victory to the Parpaldian Empire with only 200 death toll to their side from the ambush, while the Fenn sustain over 5,000 death and counting of both civilian and military.

At the same time, Capital of Fenn, Amanoki's forest

The 200 Fenn warriors waiting for the Pangeans to arrive, they received an additional reinforcements from the capital with over 300 elite warriors doubling their forces into 500 strong and more reinforcements of thousand foot soldiers will arrive for another hour.

As they waited anxiously for the enemy to arrived, they heard a couple of loud snaps from the woods indicating that they are closing.

"Men, be ready. We are here to fight for the last breath, we will push them back from where they came from, if we haven't hold them back, we will die with honor!" An officer motivated the anxious warriors as their spirits rise up, while the anxiety that was building up from them vanished.

With high morale they waited like a predator.

Then they caught a glimpse of silhouettes of an giant figures with two odd lights atop of each heads, they also noticed these 'Iron Giants' were wielding some kind of a giant musket with a very large belt connected at their backs.

Also noticing some small figures accompanying these giants, the Fenn warriors tightly gripped their hands at their bows and swords.

Approximately of 100 meters and closing, they maintained their concealment from the sights of the foreign invaders. Then, the Pangeans halted their march about 50 meters followed by a loud booming voice.

After few more times of repeating the same message, the high ranking individual in the Fenn's warriors stood up before he unsheathed his sword then pointing towards the enemy, completely forgetting their element of surprise.

"CHARGE!"

After shouting the order, he charged forward followed by his peers.

The Pangeans aimed their rifles, machine guns, gatling guns, and 20mm to 30mm both rotary and chain cannons at the charging warriors from another era.

"LIGHT 'EM UP!"

Both Pangean foot soldiers and A.M.P suits fired in complete unison, sending hundreds of projectiles towards the enemy.

One by one, the Fenn warriors falls to the ground, decapitated from their bodies due to the large calibers used on them by the 20mm and 30mm. While the small arms fired in burst, taking their prey with deadly accuracy.

The battle lasted only few minutes, now describe as one sided slaughter by the Fenn warriors.

Those Fenn warriors who survived the onslaught were also taken down as prisoners of war.

After clearing any stranglers, they march without any more hinch.

"Well this is gonna be a worth bullet spending."

A Pangean captain thought out loud to himself, while gazing at the casings scuttered to the ground they wasted to the defenseless enemy.

Amanoki, Kingdom of Fenn

A single horse could be seen running at full speed with its rider looking back and forth, frantically.

"At this rate, they are already dead by now. I should hurry and warn everyone for the upcoming metal land dragons."

The messenger thought panicked at what he seen, that he concluded to be a copycat of Parpaldia's metal land dragons, but it was very bulky and large compared to the Parpaldian metal land dragons, could be potentially very powerful and destroy their primitive walls with ease.

Having seen it in action when they were sent, including him (the rider) to the Empire of Parpaldia for their 'weapons demonstration' after celebrating their Empire's foundation, 3 years ago.

Most of the 3rd civilized countries were utterly shocked by the display of new power from Parpaldia, hence, they were surprised to see a mechanical plane in air show that was displayed.

Many thought, that these new mechanical war machines of the Parpaldian Empire acquired came from the 2nd world superpower, which is the mechanical-based country of Mu from the 2nd civilization.

Returning to the task at hand, the horse rider could see the capital city at the distance.

Smiling, he also noticed the large formation of warriors from different clans with different flags raised high in the air, they banded together to stop the foreign invaders from two giant nations.

As he came closer, the first formation let him go through by moving side ways, when he came a cross to another horse with the king mounted on his own wearing his stylish armor.

Dismounting, the messenger walk towards the waiting king before kneeling.

"My king, Shihan. The invaders from the continent of Pangea are already few hours away, before reaching the capital." He said before lowering his head in respect.

King Shihan hummed before looking at the horizon where the messenger came from.

"What happened to the warriors of Mironou clan?" The king asked slightly concerned.

It took several minutes before the messenger answered.

"I-I believe, your majesty... They are already dead by now, based on the popping sounds that I heard before departing, the sound resembles to Parpaldian muskets, but it was non-stop."

King Shihan was stunned, before returning back to his senses.

"You may take a rest now, you came from a very long way." Shihan said before guiding his horse towards the waiting chieftains.

"Thank you, King Shihan!" The messenger said before departing.

Looking at the several chieftains from other clans, King Shihan immediately draw out a plan.

"Chieftain Rosuke and Chieftain Orami, organise your troops and defend the forest's entrance, don't let an single enemy pass through."

"Yes, my king!" Both chieftains said before leaving to organise their own troops.

King Shihan, looked at the last chieftain.

"Chieftain Ezaru, defend this wall at all cost. I will have my troops defending the capital."

"Yes, your majesty!"

The chieftain bowed, before the both sides departed.

As Shihan guided his horse and ordered his own troops to march back to the capital city.

The 10,000 Fenn warriors with high morale, ready to die with honor for the sake of their kingdom.

Meanwhile...

The Pangean 77th Armored Battalion, 12th Mechanized Infantry Division, and 33rd Armored Carrier Division accompanied by the Marines, travels at minimum pace with no resistance encountered so far and nearly reaching their target, the capital of Fenn.

Some of the crews and soldiers felt sorry for the Kingdom of Fenn, due to the fact that the warriors stand no chance at the Pangean weapons.

But, orders are orders, they will uphold and fullfil their duties for the name of Pangean Empire and the Emperor.

<<3 minutes! Ladies, I want all those game faces in the field!>>

They heard the voice of the Second Commander of this operation, Lieutenant General Glenn.

Meanwhile in a M4 Riley IFV, the soldiers were conversing with each other, killing the time before their battle.

"Hey, Nik!" A Sapient Cougar called out his brother in arms, which is a human.

The human named Nik looked towards the Cougar with puzzled expression.

"What is it Noah?" Nik asked.

"How was your wife and your baby girl?" Noah asked with a grin.

"Well..." The human paused while grabbing a piece of picture inside of his helmet that was sitting on his lap, before handing over towards the impatient feline.

After Noah grab the picture while some of their comrades leaned in, Noah and some of their brothers chuckled seeing the image was smiling Nik with his wife a St. Bernard, they were both cradling an infant hybrid with most parts is human with missing ears that was replaced with canine ears and a tail.

Nik continues.

"Meriah just given birth to my little angel last month."

The compartment erupted in cheers while some of the wolves in their group howled and congratulate Nik.

The Captain, a human just chuckled before he felt a tap on his shoulder, gazing behind him, he saw the commander of the fighting vehicle.

"30 seconds." The commander said.

Nodding, he gazed back to his men.

"Brothers, 30 seconds. Breathers up!" The captain wears his helmet before tapping the visor down, covering his entire face.

The men under his command followed suit, while Noah handed back the picture before both of them wear their own helmets.

"Check, Weapons and gears." The captain ordered with his deep robotic voice, before securing all necessary equipments for the operation.

Both Humans and Sapients check their gears before signalling their squad leaders in different IFVs and armored personnel carriers.

"Check."

"Check."

Several soldiers from other carriers confirmed that they are all set.

<<3 seconds!>>

As the time was ticking, the carriers jolted onto complete halt, before the ramp slowly descend.

<<All units, disembark!>>

One by one, dozens of soldiers exited at the back of their fighting vehicles and wheeled carriers, before taking a defensive perimeter at the front of the lined up vehicles.

They were now standing in plain field and in front of them was the gate to the capital just a several kilometers away.

4 Osorio-10 and 2 KF51 Panther take positions at the front of their formation, while the 7 Challenger Leopards take positions at both flanks.

The 120mm smoothbore of Osorios and 130mm smoothbore cannons of both Panthers and Challenger Leopards aimed at the primitive wall and gate, loaded with H.E rounds.

Waiting for the order of combined assault from the Marines and AMPs from the forest in the West.

It's now or never.
