"Thor- the god of Thunder, lands on your doorstep."

==============

Of the top items on my bucket list, falling through Yggdrasil's nine worlds was at least number ten thousand.

And it was all his fault.

After finding out my mother's identity as Athena, losing my husband, and helping to save the world twice, I thought the Fates might deign to give me a break. That was before a flurry of pounding knocks echoed through my apartment, courtesy of a muscular stranger.

Warning number one.

"I need your help." But those deep black eyes gave him away as they pierced through my very essence in one look.

The look of a god.

I began to shut the door, wanting nothing to do with it. "Haven't I done enough for you?"

"My brother stole Mjölnir to start Ragnarok."

"And you can't just find it yourself?"

"That's why we have you demigods."

"In other words, without your hammer, you're nothing."

He tried a winning smile, which I duly ignored, before trying another tactic. "Lilith. Do you want the world ripped apart?"

"Where is it?"

Thor hesitated.

"Where. Is. It."

"Jotunheim?"

"The land of giants." I stared at him. "You want me to go to the land of giants."

"Well..." Thor spread his hands in supplication. "I'll deliver you, you'll get my hammer from Thrym, and we'll smash some heads. Back before dinner."

In case you were wondering, my fall through the World Tree was not before dinner.

It was well after.
