One Mushroom Kingdom Day, Mario was sleeping. His alarm bleeped and blooped. He reached out and stopped it. Then he got up and grabbed his keys. He went out of his bedroom and into Luigi's. Luigi always slept very late because he loved sleeping. 

Mario shook him awake. "Luigi, I'm going out," he said. 

Luigi shot up. "You can't leave!" he yelled.

 "Sorry, man. Peach will be at a business meeting, the Toads will be at Toad Scouts, and I have to go shopping. The stomach calls!" he replied. Then he left the room. "I'll be back in a few hours!" he called. 

As soon as he shut the door, Luigi felt like a dead man. "I'll probably kill myself," he said to himself.

 He got out of bed and used the bathroom. Then he put on his cap and shoes and went into the kitchen. Blue Toad was sitting at the table with Yellow Toad. They were wearing brown outfits and munching on toast. "You guys are still here?" Luigi asked. 

"Yeah, but we're going to leave in ten seconds," Blue Toad replied.

 He and Yellow Toad ate their last bites of toast and then jumped up and ran out of the room. Luigi heard the door shut and lock. 

He decided to eat some breakfast. He made some eggs and bacon. Then he walked around the empty castle. "Hmm, a good thing to do is take a drive!" he said. 

He went and got his Mach 8. Then he rocketed to the supermarket and bought a cake and coke. He took it home and started eating it. Once he was full, he had nothing to do. He started feeling like there was a monster waiting to jump out at him. He decided to go into his room and hide under the covers. So he did that. He read two novels. His back started hurting and he got hungry eventually, though. So he crept through the house, cracked his back, and ate a few hot dogs for lunch. He ate more cake for dessert. He spent some more of the day baking cookies and things. He also cooked a dish of lasagna. (It was nice to have an entire dish of food for himself.) He watched a movie (Wreck-It Ralph). He spent a while lying on the couch. Then he got hungry, so he ate dinner.

 Finally, the doorbell rang. He answered it happily to find a sea of Toad Scouts. They all flooded into the house and crushed him. He was a pancake when they were done. They all went into the TQ though and never came out. 

Luigi waited more. Peach finally came home dressed in a pink business suit. Luigi wanted to play a game.

 "Sorry, I'm starving," she said. 

Luigi grumbled and waited extra. At last, the doorbell rang out the Mario Bros. theme song for a third time. Luigi pranced over to the door. Mario was standing there with a wheelbarrow of food. He mowed Luigi over and went into the kitchen. Luigi got up and pumped himself full of air. He went into the kitchen and saw Mario and Peach eating all the food he had cooked. The counters were covered in the food Mario bought. 

"Welcome home," Luigi said gruffly.

Mario tossed the half-cake left into his mouth. "How'd you do?" he asked after three seconds of chewing.

 "Um, okay," Luigi said.

 Mario got up and patted him on the back. Actually, it was more like a slap. "Ow," Luigi said. 

Mario didn't care because he had started eating cookies. All the normally dressed Toads came in and helped eat Luigi's food. Luigi sighed. He flopped down on the couch and died.
