Rose
A pink tabby female was running from someone. This was Rose. Her hind paw splashed through a puddle. The bobcat chasing her took a few breaths and then his hind paw splashed through the same puddle.
She had stolen some gold coins from him while he wasn't looking. He noticed and was chasing her down with a mace.
Her chaser was an orange bobcat with blue stripes, blue eyes, and a green, tattered cloth cape. Her chaser gained speed and began to gain on her.
Rose picked up speed. The gorge was before them with the broken bridge across it. No one had fixed it since it had broken. Boards were broken in many places and the ropes were worn out from taking weight. One step and Rose would surely fall into the river beneath it.
But this was the only way over the gorge to Woodburrow Village. She would either have to stop and be killed, or take a suicidal jump across.
Rose took on a boost of speed and jumped across. She sailed over the broken bridge like a bird.
She landed on the grass of the other side. Her purser was not as lucky. He didn't notice the bridge and put on paw on it.
That was all it took.
The wooden board broke and the bobcat went falling. He yowled and it was a long time before Rose heard the splash that signaled his drop into the river.
She didn't care and kept running. Rose stopped when she saw a sign that read: Welcome to Woodburrow Village! Home of Lake Tawnya and Pixie Lake!
She ran in and ran into brown tabby fur. Rose fell back and saw that she had ran into her father Bramble.
"Dad! I can explain!" She exclaimed.
"Don't want to hear it!" Bramble growled, his yellow eyes showing disapproval. "You went out of the village again! You aren't old enough! You could get hurt!"
Rose rolled her eyes. "I can take care of myself!" There was a tearing sound and she looked down to see that her pouch that she carried things in had ripped. Gold coins spilled on the ground.
Bramble's eyes flashed in anger. "You stole gold coins from someone!? Rose! You are fifteen and your thirteen year old sister acts better than you do!"
"Leave Petunia out of this!" She snarled.
Petunia was a black and white persian with green eyes and a green cape. She believed that the world was amazing and that everything was beautiful. This was the opposite of how Rose thought of things.
"No! I am your father and you are under my authority!" Bramble growled.
"You don't know what it's like to be oppressed!" Rose retorted. "I want to see the world! Feel hurt! Feel sorrow! Feel love!"
A gray female persian with blue stripes, green eyes, a scar across her left eye, and a green fish scale cape came behind Bramble and touched his shoulder. "Calm down honey. Let me handle this." This was Rose and Petunia's mother River.
Bramble nodded and stepped back. River stepped forth. "Rose honey, we are doing this because we love you."
"Whatever," she muttered.
"Don't you whatever me young lady!" River snapped. "For stealing, sneaking out of the village, and sassing me and your father, you will go to Pike and receive a proper punishment!"
Rose hissed in fury. "You know what! I'm going to be dead before I get to explore the world! Dad! I bet you haven't even been past Woodburrow Plain!" She got up and ran toward Pike's den. He was the village chief.
Petunia ran up to her. "Rose! I just wanted to tell you—"
She ignored her and walked past her. Petunia was the last cat she wanted to talk to.
Rose arrived at Pike's den. He was waiting for her. He was a gray tabby persian with blue eyes, protruding fangs that stuck out from underneath his bottom lip, and a blue fish scale cape.
"So Rose, I heard you were in trouble. What is it this time?" Pike sighed.
"I stole gold coins, snuck out of the village, and sassed my parents," Rose growled.
He sighed. "When will you learn?"
"When will you change these dumb rules!?" She retorted.
"These rules keep us safe from Terrath!" He growled sternly.
"Terrath hasn't messed with us since he killed Wolfie!" Rose snarled.
"That doesn't mean that he won't!" Pike hissed. "You are going to help Blizzard make his potions for a week!"
"Ugh! Not Blizzard!" Rose groaned. "He's so weird!"
"I. Don't. Care! Help him!" Pike snarled.
She stomped off to Blizzard's den. He was the alchemist of the village and had been alive since Wolfie was alive.
He was in there. Blizzard was a pale blue lizard with dragon-like features; he had long, dark blue spikes, blue chest scales, blue claws, white, slightly curled horns, and an arrow tipped tail. He honestly looked like a lizard-dragon.
He had his eyeglasses on and was mixing a potion.
Rose reluctantly walked in.
"Whatever you are in here for, don't touch anything," Blizzard growled.
She felt the strange chilly aura that came off his scales when she was near him. No one had any idea why this happened. Blizzard refused to tell. "I was told to help you!"
"What did you do?" He asked.
"I stole, went out of the village, sassed my parents and Pike," Rose answered.
Blizzard chuckled. "Well then, here's a lesson, don't get caught!"
"That's not funny!" She growled.
"Whatever," he huffed. "Go our to my garden and get sap from the tree."
Rose sighed, got a jar, and went out the back door to his garden. There were varieties of plants, fruits, and vegetables growing and in the middle of it all was a massive tree with deep marks all over it.
She went over to the tree, unsheathed her dagger, and stabbed it into the tree. The wood splintered and an orangish brown sap leaked out. Rose got out the jar and let it leak in. When it was full she went back to the den.
Rose handed the sap to Blizzard. He began sticking labels onto potion bottles. "Alright. Now I want you to go gather up some herbs."
This continued for several hours until Blizzard sent her home so she could sleep and prepare for work tomorrow.
