Rose had the cat creature pinned to the bottom of her mind. She had ripped the tentacles off of her and pinned the creature with its own tentacles. The cat creature squirmed beneath her struggling to break free of her grasp.
"Let go of me maggot!" The creature demanded, Rose simply gripped the the cat creature tighter. She unsheathed her dagger and sliced all 6 of the tentacles off. A purple gunk gushed out of the stumpy remains of the tentacles like a rushing torrent. The cat creature howled in a mixture of pain and fury. The purple gunk pooled around Rose's back paws. It started to rise higher covering her ankles then her knees then her torso. The gunk would not stop gushing out of the tentacle stumps. The cat creature did its strange laugh.
"You fool! Now I can drown you and when your dead I can control your body forever!" The cat creature sneered, the gunk then rose up and covered the cat creatures body. It also covered Rose's abdomen. I will die if I stay here any longer! Rose thought, The only way for me to escape with my life is for me to injure myself so I will wake up in the real world. Rose raised her dagger and breathed in deeply. She swung the dagger down as fast as a viper. The dagger plunged its sharp, serrated blade into Rose's left arm. Crimson liquid came out of the fresh wound. Rose gritted her teeth in pain. She began to fade away. By then the purple gunk had rose up to her chest. She faded away completely. She woke with a jolt. She was back on the concrete floor of the dungeon. She breathed a sigh of releaf. Rose looked at her left arm the wound was still there. She looked at her dagger, it still had blood on it too.
"HEY!!!" A voice snarled from behind Rose, Rose turned around and saw SunShadow and MoonShadow chained to the wall behind her.
"Get us off here NOW!!!" SunShadow demanded, Rose froze with fear. She dashed away and climbed up the ladder that led back to Pike's den. When she was at the top she ran into Bramble's den. He was dozing on his chupicabra skin bed. Rose guessed that she had been fighting the cat creature for several hours. It must have tired Bramble out waiting. Rose prodded Bramble's shoulder. He woke up with a jolt.
"Rose did you put SunShadow to sleep?" Bramble asked sleepily,
"No. SunShadow knocked me out and drug me into Pike's dungeon. Then, a weird cat-like creature of shadow possessed me and turned me into an evil spirit. I fought hard to get my body back and I succeeded but, it came with a price." Rose answered showing Bramble her injured arm, Bramble gasped. "Go see Forest that wound looks like it could sour." Bramble demanded, Rose nodded and ran into Forest's den. She was busy putting gauze bandages onto her shelf.
"Forest." Rose meowed, Forest turned around.
"Rose what do you need dear? Wait, I smell blood what happened?" Forest asked, Rose told her the whole story. Forest began wrapping gauze bandages around Rose's injured arm.
"You know that the cat creature inside of your mind is a result of Terrath being in your dreams and that is the shadoow version of yourself that can only be identified as Shadow Rose and Shadow Rose can use your anger, sadness or weakness to turn you into an evil spirit." Forest explained, Rose narrowed her eyes.
"How do you know that?" Rose asked suspiciously, Forest froze. She is hiding something I just know it! Rose thought, Forest finished working on Rose's arm.
"You can go now." Forest muttered shyly, Rose walked back into Bramble's den.
"I forgot to tell you this but, SunShadow and MoonShadow are trapped in the dungeon so, we can get them out and exile them from the village or we can leave them down there forever as prisoners." Rose meowed,
"Don't tell me that tell Pike that! I'm not village chief he is!" Bramble snapped,
"Where is he at?" Rose asked,
"He is still outside." Bramble answered, Rose ran outside of the village, Pike was sitting on a stump his expression was blank. Rose came over to him and told him the whole story he nodded and raced into the village with Rose at his side. SunShadow's gang was already waiting for them.
"First, we are going to throw you down in the dungeon then, we are going to let SunShadow and MoonShadow out." Bone sneered,
"I don't think so!" Rose growled, she unsheathed her dagger. Pike got into a fighting stance...
