WARNING: This is long. Like, 2124 words long.

Everyone's complaining about Wattpad being quiet again, and I realised I hadn't posted anything in a good while.

...okay, I just really wanted to do this, but my point still stands!

So here! Buckle up and enjoy your fill of

(Shamelessly stealing Glorious_Prussia's jokes since 2019.)

I may not like this ship as a ship. I mean, I get the idea of shipping a hot childhood friend that wants to monopolise the main character, but let's be honest, that's not a very healthy relationship. And... that's just the trope. Bakugou has become a better person, yes. That doesn't change how he was and still is an asshole to Midoriya.

I'm not saying he can't change, and that just because he once told Midoriya to die, doesn't mean he doesn't regret saying something like that now, buuuuut Bakugou doesn't seem to be able to apologise yet. And Midoriya still feels inferior to Bakugou. This needs a lot of development to please me, tbh.

But, I like the people shipping this. I haven't met that much BakuDeku shippers, but the ones that I have met and seen on Tumblr or Pinterest are so respectful and just overall very kind people. I've been part of a few more fandoms and almost every one of them had a very toxic side of the fandom that is the shippers. And man, what a piece of fresh air BakuDeku shippers are.

Can't say that 'bout some of the TodoDeku shippers out there.

KiriBaku •

You guys already know KiriBaku is my OTP in this show and overall. I mean, the cuteness. The genuine way Kirishima talks to Bakugou, and how Bakugou started to feel comfortable around Kiri. I think it's truly a skill of some sort to be able to befriend Bakugou without ever making it as if Kirishima sees Bakugou as scary, or make it look like Kirishima's just being a yes man. Bakugou has never had a friend who wasn't treating him like he was inferior to Bakugou. Midoriya was a great friend, but Kirishima was the one capable of helping Bakugou.

Likewise, Bakugou (however aggressive) tries to boost Kirishima's confidence. It's like they're constantly helping each other out, and if that's not a perfect team, then I don't know what is.

Some people can think of it as "just friends," but I like to see it as a little more. That everything they do for each other holds a little more meaning. Because a romantic relationship between them would be great.

IzuOcha •

Well, many people write it off as a bland couple. Too clichéd. Too forced. There are a lot of ways to describe saying it's very much like all the other female interests in shounen anime. And they're not wrong. Neither are they right.

I haven't seen that much shounen anime, I'll be honest.

I only watched Naruto, Gintama, My Hero Academia, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, One Punch Man, The Seven Deadly Sins and I recently started Hunter x Hunter. Though what exactly is shounen and whatnot is debatable.

In Naruto the main love interest at first was Sakura. Sakura was smart. Sakura had complete chakra control. Sakura was... completely useless. Yup. There was nothing to like about her. Her attitude sucked. The only thing on her mind was her beloved Sasuke-kun, so that smart brain of hers was never used. She was actually more of a nuisance than a team player. And she only had eyes for one person, and gave no one else a chance. Hell, she ended a friendship with someone just because they liked the same boy! Yes, she's improved during Shippuden. A lot, even. But I honestly feel very attacked that people want to compare her to my precious Uraraka. And don't get me started on people that compare Hinata to Uraraka. (I have a passionate hate for Hinata, don't test me.)

In The Seven Deadly Sins, the main love interest is Elizabeth. Weak, always asks for Meliodas' help giving nothing in return, can't even say it when she's not okay with something, basically only there for the fan service. And did her love for Meliodas came to be because he always saves her? Wasn't she the one who asked him to? No, I can't see how Uraraka's love for Midoriya compares to those of other shounen heroines.

Uraraka's love for Midoriya is written so well up until now. It seems realistic and everything about her attitude towards it makes you want to root for her. It's not that bland as people say it is, it does hold beauty to it.

Buuuut I do not ship it. In my opinion, two people in a relationship should have complimentary personalities in order to support each other. Midoriya is... a cinnamon roll! Uraraka is... a precious bean! Hmmmm... Hmmmmmmm... Yeah, their personalities are kind of too much alike. I find their moments cute, and I wouldn't mind them becoming canon, but I can't ship it. They won't truly be able to support each other. Also, I'm scared they'll make Uraraka into a weak girl that needs to be protected the moment she gets together with Midoriya. Though I don't believe that'll happen.

So for now, I'll just be waiting until Midoriya gets the feels. Because maybe that'll make it less one sided, and will cause a change in their attitude towards each other. And then I just might like it.

TodoDeku •

I've mentioned it before, but some of the TodoDeku shippers out there are toxic af. I'm so sorry for that. It really ruins the fun in shipping. I only found this out a few days ago, but damn was I shocked.

I still love the ship though. That won't change. But I'll let you know that I won't be bashing on other ships just because I ship something else.

Anyway, I think the idea of Todoroki with Midoriya is very cute. Todoroki's slightly awkward way of trying to befriend Midoriya after the sports festival was really cute. I especially loved the development in "I don't need friends" to "My friend needs me." That's character development at its finest.

Midoriya is nice to anyone, so that isn't really an argument to say why I love TodoDeku speaking from Midoriya's side. I mean, canonically, it would be pretty one sided, right? Yeah, I can't get myself out of that one. It would be. But if Todoroki would ever confess his (probably nonexistent, but I believe in my headcanons) love for Midoriya, he might get a positive reaction, after Midoriya thought about it for a while.

Plus, they would be able to help each other in so many ways. With hero training, and mental help. 'Cause mainly Todoroki needs it. And I can just imagine how healthy their relationship would be, and it always makes me warm and fuzzy inside thinking of it, because healthy gay relationships are almost unheard of in anime. And to the people writing TodoDeku fics out there. Good job. Make it as fluffy as possible. Consent is my kink.

TodoMomo •

We've arrived at the ship that I'm probably the most confused at. Why is this so popular? Todoroki did help boost Momo's confidence, but that was that moment, and the only one ever. It could've been anyone else, and we would've gotten the same result. Okay, maybe it couldn't have been anyone else, since she doesn't necessarily feel inferior to everyone in 1-A. But the same could've happened with Midoriya. It's really just Todoroki realising his mistake of never giving Momo a chance to speak, and that's not necessarily the start of a love blooming.

But well, I can't really complain, because we also have ships like Aoyama x Monoma, who haven't had more than a two sentence conversation together (and possibly no conversation at all, but my mind is foggy, so I'm playing safe). So I guess this is top quality shipping now.

...

I don't see it, though.

OchaMina •

Ah, yes, one of my beautiful lesbian ships. Needs more recognition, tbh. Actually, both of my lesbian ships need more recognition. Why is it that when it comes to the lesbians, I ship the least popular ones? OchaTsu, MomoJirou? No, thanks, I'll take the rare pairs.

...I'm low on fanfiction and fanart of my lesbian children. ;-;

Yeaaaaah, okay, I'll be honest. I mostly ship OchaMina because of their adorable friendship and the cutest dates that could come out of it. And the entire ship is just my headcanon, because we won't be getting anything other than their cute friendship out of the canon story, but let me dream! They would be adorable and simply one of the cutest couples out there, and I strongly believe that still is a possibility.

And yes, they've interacted. Pay a little attention, and you too will see how adorable their relationship is.

OchaTsu •

I mean, they're cute. They're good friends, and they're often seen onscreen together. I would ship it, but I don't really ship Tsuyu with anyone.

I like the ship of Tsuyu and that girl from her internship, but we're likely to never see her again. I just don't feel it. You know, the shipping sense is not tingling. *shrugs*

Good ship, but I don't ship.

TokoTsu •

Okay, where did this one come from? I get it. Emo boio + Cute gorlo = Cute but awkward relationship.

The only thing left is actual interactions between the two characters! :)

You get where I'm going with this.

Although I must admit, I do like the idea of it. And the fanart is very likeable. I just... common sense tells me not to, you know? Feelsbadman.

Kacchako •

Oh boy, here we go.

Yes, I hate Kacchako. I'm sorry. I don't mind people shipping it, it's just... it ticks me off. It feels like people are only shipping this for the aesthetic of it, and not for their relationship. And that's fine. Aesthetics are fine. But people try to cover it up. If you're only shipping this for the bad boy/good girl trope, at least admit that. Don't go giving me crap like "Bakugou was the only one to respect Uraraka as a girl." (Which is literally the only argument out there.)

No. Respecting women should be the norm, not something that should be seen as a potential romantic interest from the person that shows respect and acknowledgment. Bakugou respects women, because he knows gender doesn't tell shit about people's capabilities. It has nothing to do with how he feels about Uraraka. Moreover, he has nowhere in their entire battle shown he liked her romantically or even friendly, he just acknowledged her power.

Yes, it's Bakugou. No, he isn't known to be the best at acknowledging others. But he has not once since getting into UA underestimated the people there. He knows that he'll only become a bad hero if he underestimates his opponents. He's not dumb. All of this has nothing to do with how he feels for Uraraka, it's only about how he sees all his opponents equally.

If you say to my face you only like Kacchako because of the bad boy/good girl trope, I'll accept it. (I will probably try to talk you into liking KiriBaku, though. But that's just me. I try getting more of my people.) But if you take Bakugou's respect for his opponent, no matter what gender as reason as to why you love Kacchako, then get out.

There's the reason that you started liking it because of the fanart, which I'll take, because Kacchako fanart is effin' adorable.

TodoBaku •

I can't really see this. They're both powerful, so I guess they could even each other out in a relationship. I'll just stay neutral when it comes to this ship. It had some nice moments, both in the series and the movie, but nowhere near how much moments KiriBaku had.

Also, wow, this ship is getting so much hate. We've got ships like Bakugou x Dabi, which is basically invented for the sin, but noooooo, TodoBaku is the real devil here. Nah, man. Don't let all that hate get you down. Everyone has their own reason for shipping, and I think TodoBaku is valid.

MomoJirou •

I love the moments it had. If only I had seen those moments before I finished the series, because now I'm shipping both of them with someone else. Feelsoofman.

Also, this ship is overrated. Maybe that's just me being salty because there's too little MomoKendou fanart/fanfics, but my point still stands.

Okay, I'm ending it here, because it's already very long, but if I don't know what to write about in the future, I might go for a part two.

Baiiiii
