Not really like that's anything new. I'm barely active anyway. It'll be kind of the same for you all, but I just kind of wanted to talk a bit about what's been going on.

When I was a small child I would always hear some words differently from what was actually said. Like computer became cooteryooter. And when I was very young that just came off as cute and nobody really questioned it. But when I was about 6 or 7, my mom said she wanted to test my hearing. Well, it wasn't extreme or something, but it turned out I heard worse than most. So I got hearing aids.

For years that was just the normal for me. I didn't really question it. Nothing was wrong with it. Sometimes people asked about it, being all dumb asking, "Are you deaf?" No, Charlie, I can still hear. Stfu.

Around 2014/2015 I got a case of "sudden deafness" on my right ear. It basically dropped to me hearing close to nothing with my right ear. For weeks, maybe months (can't really remember much about that time), I didn't do anything about it. I thought it would just pass and I'd hear back in no time.

Yeah, it didn't. I could hear fine, it was just... not reversible or something. So my right ear became useless.

Around the beginning of my second year in secondary school I stopped using my hearing aids. I had gotten new ones and they gave me a headache. Besides, I was kinda done with them anyway.

It wasn't really a problem. This was fine. No harm was being done. I barely noticed I heard worse than most.

A couple weeks ago I got really sick. Like, really sick. I kept throwing up and at first my head felt like it was gonna explode. I wasn't able to look at any type of screen or books for two days. All in all, terrible experience. I hated it.

After it was over, I started noticing a slight change in my hearing. It wasn't terrible, but I noticed I had to put the volume up a little higher than usual when watching series and I had to ask people to repeat stuff more often. And well, I didn't do anything. Again.

My mom asked if I heard worse, which I did. So we decided to go the local doctor. Who said my nose was probably stuffed, and that was making me hear worse as well. Got medicines.

But it didn't get better. Rather, it got worse.

So we went to another doctor. He said the same thing, only gave some extra advise as well. Went on, bladibla.

It still only got worse.

So today, I went to the audiologists, and we found out the same thing that happened to my right ear is probably also happening to my left.

In shorter words, I'm becoming close to deaf.

There are solutions to this, and I've got an appointment with another doctor later today, so we'll see how we go about this. But I think you can understand that this has been pretty difficult for me, and that I think I wanna take some time off of most things.

So, it might not be very different from what I've been doing up until now. I'll still be on once in a while, just not that often. But I hope you understand that this is gonna take up a lot of my energy and that I'm currently not in my best condition.
