The sound echoed down the long hall, accompanied by the crash of objects falling over as the creature making the sound approached.

The head of the beast emerged from the doorway, the scales glimmering with hidden fire as it fixed the man with a jaundice eye*. "You called me master?"
The man curled his lip in a sneer, the distaste clear on his face. "Is there any other way you'd be here?" He opened his hand and showed the beast the necklace within.

"Make sure the girl receives this, or the rest of your enteral life I will personally ensure that it will be a living hell."

"Yes master."

The man turned to go, but turned back briefly. "You'll have to be in human form to get close to her." With his finally instructions he placed the necklace on the low table nearby and left the room.

-Back in the chamber-

Cassia checked the time on her phone. 4:30pm "Goddamit." she muttered. She closed all her apps, cutting of Markiplier mid-scream, and glared at Clancy. "Ok, time to break it up guys. We've been here for about an hour and if we wait any longer someone is going to die."
Becca looked at Cassia and frowned. "Unfortunately I have to return to my own world, my DRM...F isn't going to write itself."
Cassia let out a sigh of frustration. "Fine, fine. I'll handle this on my own."
"I can send some of the others in here if you'd like." Becca offered.

"You can do that?"

She nodded. "Yeah. I can only add one at a time, and take one back though. So you'll only have one friend with you at any given point in time."

"I'll let you know if I need anyone alright?" Cassia replied.

     Becca smiled. "Alright."

     Becca vanished in a swirl of light, leaving behind nothing but a small communication device, which Cassia picked up and shoved in her pocket.

     "Alright guys time to go. We can discuss what to do once we're out of here ok?" Cassia said, looking at Clancy and Yoi.
     They both nodded and walked over to Cassia.
"Where are we going?" Clancy asked.

     Cassia opened up a swirling vortex and gestured toward it. "Home. Jump through and wait for me, because I have a few things to attend to here first. If I don't show up in an hour, take Yoi and run, DON'T come back for me. Got it?"

     Yoi looked at Cassia with wide eyes. "A-are y-you g-going t-to be o-ok?" she asked quietly.
     Cassia met Clancy's eyes for a moment, her pain flashing in her blue eyes. Then she looked down at Yoi, and knelt down so she was face to face with her. "I'll do my best ok? I have unfinished business, and if I don't take care of it then you could get hurt. You have Clancy if anything happens to me, ok?"
     Yoi hugged Cassia tightly for a few minutes, refusing to let go.
Cassia gently pushed her away after a few more minutes, then looked her in the eye. "Don't come back for me. Promise me you won't come back." she said, her voice showing she was on the edge of crying.
     Yoi handed Cassia Mr.Squiddington and nodded. "I p-promise. Y-you h-have t-to p-promise yo-you'll ta-take c-care of Mr. S-squiddington o-ok?"
     Cassia tucked it away in her jacket pocket and nodded. "Stay safe Yoi." she whispered.
     Cassia and Yoi hugged once more briefly, then Cassia straightened up and watched Clancy and Yoi step through the portal. She closed it behind them and looked around the chamber briefly.

     "It's now or never Cassia." she whispered to herself. She took a step forward toward the chamber with an eye over it, but froze and spun around as she heard the familiar high pitched whistle of a dart. She tried to dodge out of the way, but a second one came flying out of nowhere and struck her in the back.
     Cassia collapsed on the stone floor, mentally cursing her parentage. The world grew fuzzy as she struggled again the serum, fighting back with everything she had.
     But, it was no use. Another dart struck her in the side, plunging her world into darkness.
