"Sylvan will love this flower!" Pearl exclaimed.

"You sure he will?" Amanda joked. "Sylvan's one tough cookie."

"Positive!" Pearl snapped. "All I want to do is make Sylvan happy!"

"Alright, let's see it." Amanda said at last. She padded over to Pearl and eyed her rose curiously before concluding, "This will do. Remember, you have some competition. Pixie likes Sylvan too, you know."
Pearl dipped her head. "I'm aware," She said.

"But yeah, I'm sure he'll love this." Amanda told her. "Now come on, let's get back to camp."

"Oh, uh, thanks Pearl." Sylvan stuttered when Pearl gave him her rose.

"You're welcome!" Pearl purred happily.

"Pixie gave me one of these too, it was blue if I recall correctly. She said it reminded her of my fur." Sylvan told her.

Pearl's heart sank. "Oh, she did?"

Sylvan nodded. "She did." He then pulled out a sparkling blue rose like one Pearl had never seen before.

Pixie always does things better than I do. Pearl thought bitterly.

"But thanks for the thought!" Sylvan added when he saw Pearl's crushed face.

Pearl smiled weakly. "Yeah, okay."

"Sylvan really crushed you, didn't he?" Pinky asked Pearl that night.

"Well yeah, but I'm okay now." Pearl told her.

"That's good." Pinky murmured as Pearl nodded.

"You can't please everyone, I guess." Pinky told her.

"That's true, but I will say that he didn't seem super upset or anything. He thanked me and showed me Pixie's flower." Pearl told him.

"Well, Legend's right." You can't please young Sylveons." Pinky whispered and Pearl nodded.
