The airship was approaching Beacon, and the girls were nervous. Sure, they had been to combat school before, but this was going to be far more difficult than that. What would they do if they were separated, while they may have only become an unofficial team the year prior, they had worked hard to learn how to fight together and support each other. What would they do if they were separated?

This wasn't something small, in fact, Rame had specifically designed her weapon and fighting style to rely on Pika being on her team, if they weren't together, how would she survive combat? The same was true of the other two, but to a lesser extent.

Everyone around them was gushing over the beauty of Beacon, but Rame didn't think of it like that, it was rather monotonous with varying shades of beige, black, white and brown, very little colour, and when it was there it loosed to be worn.

However bleak outside looked, however, the inside of the airship was vibrant with colours.

Pika's purple dress brought out the colour in her cheeks, almost distracting from the grey sword she was carrying, it had a yellow blade, and cyan handle. Pika's hair was a strong yellow, although rather pale, almost like sunlight in summer. Whenever she used her semblance it would turn red, which helped in earning her the nickname Phoenix. Her hair was never in the same style twice, always finding new ways to tie in back in ornate ways. When the sun would catch her hair from behind, it would almost look like she had a halo of the wisps of hair that would never behave.

Rame had a black mesh top, a dark cyan vest underneath, and paler cyan leggings, white and black stripes down the outside. Instead of a belt she wore a dark blur yo-yo with a sleeping dragon on it. Her long hair was braided, the ends fading from her natural chocolate brown to the blues and purples she had dyed it. Her main weapon was hanging from her yo-yo, due to her copycat semblance, she used hard light dust to recreate the main weapons she had programmed into the pouch. It had a gravity dust stone on the string, another being on her yo-yo's main part. She had a final stone on the single purple glove she wore.

Tia had a dark blue, long sleeve top. It would hang loose around her waist, if it were not for the paler cloth corset that was laced up at the front, although zipped at the back for ease. She had a short skirt like piece of cloth with a pair of horns with a ring around the base sewn into the corner. Her trousers were loose and bunched at the top of her slim dark blue boots that were supposed to look like they had a tall heel, although they were practically flat due to her inability to walk in anything taller than a school shoe. She had initially designed herself a complicated scythe with a blade that detached with a wire, but she couldn't use it safely, almost impaling Rame and forcing Pika to use her semblance to save her. Now she just relied on her own semblance to create whatever weapon she needed at the time.

Lulu was wearing green, complementing the darker tone of her skin. A katana in its hilt was attached to the thin, pale belt lopsidedly fastened between her waist and hips. She wore a short sleeved green top, gold coloured armoured bands on her arms, legs and shoulders. She was wearing dark green gardening trousers that were stained from the training she had done. She wore short boots that provided her ankle support.

Everyone on the ship seemed to have their own main colours, causing the inside of the ship to almost be an eyesore from the colours ranging from dull to clashing neon.

"We should come up with a plan to make sure we're all a team." Lulu said suddenly, over a broadcast about the White Fang's recent acts of terrorism.

"But we don't even know how we get put into teams, how are we supposed to guarantee we're all together?" Rame asked, leaning forward from her position on the wall.

"From what I read, it sounds like we're partnered by the person we first look at after the test begins." Tia said, looking almost too eager for them to start training, seeming to forget that most of the time at Beacon is spent in lectures.

"Great! So we can at least partner with one of the rest!" Lulu cheered, a bright smile on her face. "Rame, you should probably partner with Pika, your fighting style needs her. That means I'll partner with you, Tia."

"Sure, but how do Rame and I make sure we're partners?" Pika asked. "Sure, Rame can use your semblance for about a minute, but she's not as good at it as you."

"Hey! True, but stop rubbing these things in!" Rame said with a fake pout as she crossed her arms in fake indignation. She always played offence to lighten the mood whenever things turned too serious and her semblance or fighting style came into question.

"Why don't you two make a signal to make sure that you don't look at anyone other than each other?" Tia suggested.

"Oh! What about Chari's semblance - melon cat! The cat always connects to Pika, so if she sees the cat she knows that I'm close, and if I hear melon, then I know Pika's there!" Rame suggested.

"But isn't Chari also training to be a huntress?" Pika asked, hair falling over her shoulder and ignoring the high pitched squealing of a yellow glad blonde girl a few feet away suffocating another girl dressed in black with a red cape who looked too young for Beacon.

"Yeah, but she went to Atlas, it's closer to where her mums work." Rame said with a halfhearted shrug.

"Aw, I was looking forward to be in the same school as her finally." Lulu complained.

"We can always call her, they have better signal at Atlas than Beacon." Rame said with a smile. She had met Chari at her combat school, and she became a half member of their group which had all met about a year prior, Rame and Tia had met first.
