"OK the next cure *hic* is drinking water. Come on *hic* laguna there's a water fountain not *hic* too far from here." Synth said as he closed the book and  took laguna's hand as they walked to the water fountain.

Laguna took a few sips of water then synth took a few sips of water they both waited.

But they both hiccuped.

Synth frowned. Then took out the book and turned the page. "Eating sugar is the next cure *hic* and if the sugar won't work maybe....

Laguna sighed. "What if *hic* our hiccups never go away?"

Synth led laguna to the bench and they both sat down. "Laguna our hiccups will *hic* eventually go away *hic*. We can't give up."

Laguna smiled. "You're right synth. Besides *hic* with all these *hic* hiccup *hic* cures one is eventually bound to *hic* work. But instead of eating sugar *hic* can't we get a cupcake instead *hic* those are sugary."

Synth smiled. "Great idea laguna *hic*"

Holding hands they walked to where cupcakes were being sold. Synth smiled. "Two cupcakes please." Surprisingly he didn't hiccup once. As he walked back to laguna who sat at a picnic he thought. 'Maybe my hiccups are gone.' Just then he hiccupped and sat next to laguna. Laguna selected a chocolate cupcake with purple frosting and took a bite.

Synth took a vanilla cupcake with blue frosting and took a bite he smiled happily.

Laguna smiled. "Well at least if the cupcakes don't cure us at least we got to eat a snack together."

Synth nodded.

Minutes seemed to crawl by. Synth blinked hearing silence. "I think it worked laguna I haven't hiccupped since I ate my cupcake."

Laguna opened her mouth and out came a hiccup. She sighed. "I still have the hiccups."

Frantically she grabbed the book and turned the pages. "Eating something sour, breathing into a paper bag oh which idea should I *hic* do first *hic* " Laguna's hiccups began to come out quicker. Synth took her hand gently.  Laguna looked up and synth and hiccupped "Laguna. Hey look at me. Look I know how frustrating hiccups are but panicking won't make them go away." Synth gently said.  He gently hugged laguna Who relaxed. "Sorry. I guess I started to panic about...wait do you hear that? Laguna asked.

"hear what?" Synth asked, confusedly. 

Laguna gasped happily. "My hiccups they're gone. I guess they decided to go away while you were hugging me."

Synth smiled and kissed laguna on her cheek making her giggle. "I knew we'd find a way to make our hiccups stop." He said smiling.

Laguna smiled as she cuddled synth smiling happily.
