10 years later...

~~~
The scene starts off on a sunny morning, people were out and about, the birds were chirping, and cars driving to their destinations. And then yellow bicycle zooms on the sidewalk but is carefully going around people so they don't hit into them. The rider of the bike then comes to a stop near an apartment. The rider takes off their helmet revealing an older Emi as she shakes her hair before looking at the building. She then grabs a basket of flowers that were attached to her bike and walks up the stairs of the porch and rings the doorbell. The door opens and a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes looks at Emi smiling.
"Hello Emi dear!" She greeted.
"Hi Mrs. Scott. I have a basket of roses and lavender just like you ordered." Emi hands her the flowers to Mrs. Scott.
"Thank you so much! You are the best flower delivery person ever you know that?"
"I'm just doing my job. Welp, I'm off to the next house." Emi then put her helmet back on and heads back to her bike.
"Take care Emi." A man then appears and waves at her.
"Hey Emi." He called out.
"Hi Mr. Scott." She waved.
"Tell Ms. Wong I said hi!" Mrs. Scott said.
"Don't worry Mrs. Scott, I will!" And with that Emi heads off to find her next customer. You see Emi has been a flower delivery person since she was 11 years old since she was pretty responsible. She has been really helpful helping other people and around the flower shop she and her brother Takeo live in. But Emi always going out to have some fun with her friends often and do fun activities. And the fun part about her job is that a lot of people know her for being really nice but she always loves meeting new people.
After delivering all the flowers her customers ordered it was now the afternoon. Stopping her bike near a corner, Emi pulls out her phone checking the time, 1:02 PM. 'It's time for lunch. Should probably head home before the food gets cold.' Emi thought to herself as she starts pedaling away. Eventually she arrives at the shop she lives in, 'Wong's Flowers', what a beauty it was. Sure the place was a little old but it's been for the past 10 years for Emi. Emi parks her bike outside before heading inside.
"Mei, Takeo, I'm home!" Emi called out as she closed the door. Just as she was about to taker off her shoes someone jumped at her engulfing Emi into a hug. At first Emi was stunned for a moment in shock, but when she saw who it was everything was okay. It was her 12 year old brother Takeo. He had grown up into a cheerful young boy who always brought a smile to someone's face. Takeo also had a mischievous side, one of the things he loved doing was playing pranks. Oh, he was the prank master, no kid could beat his prank record. But other than that he that he is a total sweetheart.
"You're home Emi, I'm so happy. I thought you were going to be gone forever." Takeo said.
"What do you mean Takeo? I wasn't gone for that long. It was just only 2 hours." Emi chuckled and stroked his hair.
"Well it felt like 1000 years to me." Even though he was a cheerful kid, Takeo would always be dramatic about even the smallest things. But no matter how dramatic he was, she still loved him with all her heart.
"Hey, at least I'm here now. Does that make you happy?" Emi asked while putting her hand on Takeo's cheek. He beams up at her.
"Of course it does!" The siblings both smile at each other.
"Emi." Mei-Wong's voice makes the two siblings look at her. She was in her early 70s now but she still had her motherly and caring personality.
"Oh, hey Mei." Emi smiled.
"Were you able to get all the customers the flowers they wanted?" Mei-Wong asked while they all head into the kitchen/dining room to eat.
"Yep, they are all delivered." Emi finally sets her helmet down on a bench as she pulls up a chair and sits down, "What are we having for lunch?"
"Ramen with a hint of spice in it. My favorite of all time!" Takeo cheered.
"Of course it is." Emi smiled. They all sit down as Mei-Wong sets down the bowls filled with ramen.  Once they started eating, Takeo slurped up the ramen which made both Emi and Mei-Wong chuckle at his silly behavior. After eating their lunch, Emi stands up putting her dish in the dishwasher.
"I'm gonna deliver the rest of the flowers now." But then Takeo tackled her hugging onto her waist.
"No! Don't go, you barely got home!" Takeo whined.
"Takeo, let go of your sister. You know she has to do her job." Mei-Wong told him. He whimpered making Emi feel bad that he was sad. She then kneels down at him, "How about this, sometime this week we can do something fun. Just you and me and no one else. What do you say?" Emi asked and he perked up immediately.
"Woah, really? Yeah I love too!" Emi then grabs her helmet and puts it on before going back outside. She gets back on her bike when Mei-Wong calls out, "Come back before it gets dark!"
"Alright!" And with that she pedals off.
~Time Skip~
~~~

It was now 5 pm and Emi had delivered all the flowers were delivered and she was heading home for the night. As she was heading home her phone started ringing. Curious she pulls it out to see who was calling and it was her friend April O'Neil. She pushes the answer button and starts talking.

"Hello?" April's voice flowed through the phone.

"Hey April, how are you doing?" Emi asked while she was walking her bike.

"I've been okay. How about you?" She asked.

"Yeah I'm good. I just finished delivering some flower deliveries and I'm heading home right now."

"Oh that's good. Hey, I called you because I found out some new clues for the heists that SuperFly is doing." Hearing that made Emi get a little concerned. April was a journalist for her school and is investigating the crimes that this mastermind named SuperFly was doing, everyone was scared of this master mind and police have been looking to arrest him.

"Really? What did you find?" She asked.

"Well, these guys seemed to be stealing some parts from TCRI that are super high tech. He is having these thugs do the work for him. Nobody has ever seen his face, but I think that he is building some sort of machine." Just as April finished her sentence Emi arrived back home.

"A machine? That doesn't sound good..."

"Yep, and I am going to find out what it is for." April determinedly said.

"Be careful okay? I don't want you to get hurt."

"Relax Emi I'll be fine. Have I ever been hurt before?" That sentence made Emi roll her eyes playfully, classic April.

"Alright, alright I get it. But I have to go, call me later when you get any more info." Emi said as she looked at her phone.

"Don't worry I will. Peace out." April said.

"Peace out." And then Emi hung up as she entered the shop. Some of the lights were off and Mei-Wong was sitting on the couch.

"Hey Mei." Mei-Wong turns around.

"Oh, welcome back Emi." She greeted.

"Where's Takeo?" She asked confused as she looked around.

"Little guy fell asleep. He was so excited about having you come home that it knocked him out." Mei-Wong chuckled and shook her head. Classic Takeo. As Emi set down her helmet Mei-Wong spoke up.

"Emi I want to ask you something." Emi noticed she sounded reluctant when she spoke. That was a little odd.

"Of course, you can ask me anything." She spoke.

"Have you thought about going to high school?" That sentence caused Emi to tense a bit. Oh...high school, she totally forgot to think about it. You see, Emi and Takeo have been homeschooled their whole life and have never been to a public school with other kids their age. But for the past 2 weeks Mei-Wong has been encouraging Emi to try to go to high school and make new friends but she hasn't thought of an answer yet.

"Umm no-I haven't..." Emi's sentence came out a blur.

"Look, Emi, I know you don't want to go, but I want you to go. It is good for you and your education. Your friend April goes to high school, you can go to the same school she does."

"Mei-Mei I told you...I just feel like I should stay here..." Crossing her arms, Emi looked away sadly.

"Just think about it okay?" Mei-Wong gave her an encouraging smile which lifted Emi's spirits a bit.

"I'm gonna go to my room. Good night Mei." Mei said. And then she started walking up the stairs.

"Goodnight Emi." Once Emi got to her room, she closed the door quietly and got changed into her pink silky pajamas. After getting dressed she flipped on her bed and sighs looking at the ceiling. She then reached her hand and grabbed the butterfly clip from her hair and looked at it. Ever since her mom gave it to her and left, Emi has wore it ever since and has been taking good care of it. It was the only thing she had left of her mom and she was going to take good care of it.

Emi sighs and caresses it, "Hope you and dad are safe right now. I miss you." She then puts it back in her hair and picks up a book reading for the rest of the night.
