Kate came into Mr. Fennick's office without knocking. "We have a real problem," Kate said throwing a copy of Know Now on Mr. Fennick's desk.

"I know Kate, but without Calem or Evelyn here to defend themselves, there is little we can do to dispute what's going on."

"Are you no closer to flushing out who is to blame?"

"No, but we can't give up hope. Whoever is documenting Jackson's every move is the best lead we would have to find out who's behind all of this. See if you can get some of our snoops to tail Jackson and keep their eye out for anyone they think may be the informant."

"Honestly, I don't think it's safe to use anyone on the inside. I know a guy. I trust him. But Fennick, what happens if we don't find out who this mysterious person is?"

"Then Calem may not be returning to World Star after his hiatus in Missouri. Let's just hope Evelyn took a vacation to the Bahamas and hasn't somehow figured out where Calem is or it may be game over."

"Yeah, and that would seriously suck."

Kate left Fennick's office frustrated as hell. Calem was walking into a trap. She needed to warn them. She called Calem, but he didn't answer. It forced her to leave a message.

"Calem, I don't know if you've been reading Know Now but if you haven't you should. Evelyn should too. You're both walking into a trap and if you don't want to lose everything you need to end this. Now."

Kate stepped into the woman's room and rubbed her tired eyes. Calem was the one to give her her big break when no one else would hire her. There was a scandal caused by one of her photographs and she was all but blacklisted from the industry. Calem had been following the story and realized Kate was set up to take the fall for her higher-ups.

She spent months out of work, her bank account nearly hit zero. She would have lost everything if it weren't for Calem taking a chance on her. She heard from the others about how Mr. Fennick was dead set against hiring her, but he refused to give up or give in and that's why she now has her dream job not only as the picture editor but the art director of the entire magazine.

She had to find a way to put an end to this negative campaign. Kate knew the tactics. She shamefully employed them herself when she worked at her other job. She stared at her image in the mirror and hardened her resolve. She knew what she had to do.

Jackson Brewer needed to be exposed, caught in the act and the quickest way to make that happen would be to seduce him. If she could get Jackson to kiss her and make sure someone was around to take the shot then Jackson would be revealed as a fraud and Calem would be safe. It may cost her, her job at World Star but Kate felt she owed Calem this.

Calem has always been there for her. She refused to let him down. "To have the best story you need all the facts," Calem would always tell them during team meetings and that's why they were such a success.

He always encouraged the strengths and downplayed their weakness. He was forever uplifting the team.

"It's time to step up. You can do this. You can do this for Calem."

Kate asked for the afternoon off to go to a doctor's appointment and Mr. Fennick had agreed. She hailed a cab and called a local salon to make an appointment. It was time for a makeover but first, she needed to go shopping.

She made her purchases at a couture dress shop. Her garments needed to look expensive. She didn't have the money but figured that was what credit was for. Kate took out her phone now it was time to put in place the last piece of her plan.

He picked up on the first ring. "Ethan? Kate. Do you have a minute?"

"For you? Always."

Kate rolled her eyes. This was the way it was with them. Ethan loved to flirt outrageously with her but he never followed through.

"I need a favor."

"Feeling lonely? Need me to rescue you? Name the time and place..."

"Can you be serious for like two seconds?"

She heard him sigh. "If I must. You sound on edge. This isn't like you. What's up?"

"I need your skills."

Ethan chuckled. "You have no idea how hard it is to let that one pass but okay. What's the job?"

"You're the only one I can trust with this. I need you to expose someone."

"My specialty. Who are we after?"

"Jackson Brewer."

There was a long pause.

"Jackson Brewer? Are you serious?"

"Deadly."

"Expose him how?"

"I need you to catch him in the act with someone. I need you to get it on film. However, if possible, I wish not to expose the person he is with. I need it to be discreet. Can you do that?"

"I can do anything. You should know that by now, but what I don't understand is Jackson is pulling the perfect negative campaign. How am I to catch him doing something he isn't doing?"

"That's just it. I'm going to make him do it and I need you to capture the moment."

Silence.

"Ethan? Ethan, are you still there?"

"Unfortunately, yes."

"I know what I'm asking is..."

"Insane."

Kate cringed at Ethan's tone. The playfulness had disappeared, he was angry.

"Why are you doing this, Kate?"

"I owe, Calem. I can't let him..."

"You chose, Calem. I would have taken care of you, Kate. If you would have just trusted me. Came to me when you were in trouble."

"But I didn't and I was ruined. Calem was the only one to take a chance on me. I have to do this. Please?"

"Even if it means losing everything, again?"

"Even if."

Another heavy sigh. "Text me the info."

"Ethan, Thank you so much for..."

Her phone beeped and then went silent. Ethan had hung up on her.

Kate's eyes stung, but she refused to shed a tear. Her makeup job at the salon was too expensive to mess up. She took a deep breath instead to calm her emotions. "I can do this." she encouraged, sending Ethan the details in a text message.
