-3rd person POV

In the eye of the hurricane.

Alexander ran through the stormy night, worry and fear filled his mind, He couldn't get John out of his mind. What if he got hurt?

"JOHN!"

Alexander didn't know where he was going, with every step he took he thought of many possibilities of what could've happened to the poor orphan boy

This is all my fault. He thought, remorse and regret filled his heart "JOHN!"

Thunder roared, lighting clashed. Rain poured down like waterfalls, No signs of stopping.

The thunder was gettung louder, the lighting kept striking where God knows what place.

It was a stupid idea, he wasn't thinking when he jumped out of that window, all he thought about was John.

He didn't know where he was, he was so lost, scared, confused. Everything he saw reminded him of that dreadful hurricane.

Hurricane

His blood ran cold, he started trembling uncontrollably, his feet felt wobbly, but nevertheless he continued running towards the dark abyss.

"JOHN! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

He was drenched in water, cold sweat mixing with the rain on his body, his thoughts were filled with anxiousness, not just about John, but also the endless possibilities of what could happen to him.

"Father, where are you going...?" A small boy said, tugging the sleeve of his father "Somewhere." He replied coldly, not averting his gaze from packing.

"When are you coming back?" The frail boy asked, frowing "Never."

"Why are you leaving?"

"Will you stop it with the questions, Alexander?" He hissed, glaring at him "But--"

"Shh, Talk less."

Alexander fell quiet, silently watching his father carry his bags and go to the door "You promised..."

"Promises are meant to be broken kid, life is like that--It will give you hope and then crush it when the time comes." His father said, walking out and into the rain.

"Dad--"

"Oh my God Alexander what else do YOU WANT FROM ME?!" His father screamed, turning around to face his son.

"I WANT YOU TO STAY WITH ME!" Alexander shouted back, furious tears falling down his face "T-that's all I ever wanted..."

That was the last time he ever saw his father, walking through the rain, leaving him and his family behind

Alexander continued running, no destination in mind. The rain kept pouring, the thunder and lighting was nonstop, the heavy drops of rain filling Alexander's ears with uncomfortable ringing "JOHN! PLEASE! ANSWER ME! WHERE ARE YOU?!

Alexander was losing hope, he felt sick, this was all his fault- if he hadn't kicked John out in the first place none of this would've happened.

John's absense reminded him of his mom, the fear of losing John was almost similar to the fear of losing his mother "JOHN PLEASE! L-LET ME KNOW YOUR STILL ALIVE!"

"M-mom?" Alexander breathed heavily, holding the cold hands of her mother "A-Alexander..." His mother breathed, intertwining her hands with her beloved son.

"Mom! i-i've got some medicine! b-but I don't t-think it will be e-enough!" The familiar voice of Alexander's brother filled the room "James, dear--give it to Alexander, quickly."

"N-no... Mom.." Alexander cried, inching closer to his mother "J-james, A-alexander... I-it seems as if m-my time in this w-world is enough..."

"N-no.. Don't s-say that.." James whispered almost breathlessly, tears falling down his eyes "I-i'll be l-leaving soon..." She said weakly "s-so give Alexander t-the medicine..T-there i-is still h-h-hope for him..." James gulped, trembling as he helped Alexander drink the bitter cure.

"M-my children...p-please sleep with me t-tonight..." She requested, James said no words as he climb in bed with his brother and his mother, cuddling to them as they slept through the stormy night.

The mother didn't woke up the next day.

Alexander felt tears welled up at the corner of his eyes, but shook them away, he looked up the sky, the rain wasn't stopping anytime soon.

Like the same rainy night their cousin left them.

"J-james, s-stay here okay?" Alexander said as he turned the knob slowly, Alexander gasp at the sight.

He felt tears on the corner of his eyes, his mouth was wide open as he saw his cousin's body hanging on the ceiling.

His cousin's widened eyes looked like it was staring at his soul, his mouth was wide open as blood poured out of it.

But what he will never forget was James' ear piercing scream behind him.

Alexander felt tired, his small body was gonna give up on him anytime soon, it's only a matter of time.

The storm was only worsening, but it wasn't like the storm that destroyed his town.

He was only 17 when that dreadful hurricane destroyed his town.

But the fear he was feeling was from the previous hurricane was worse than the fear of this hurricane.

"JAMES?! JAMES?! WHERE ARE YOU?! ANSWER ME?!" Alexander screamed, looking desperately for his brother.

The water started to rise on his knees, he couldn't see a thing, the rain was pouring down heavily, thunder and lightning clashing,

"A-ALEX?!" A familiar voice screamed his name, Alexander immediently recognized that voice and ran towards it "J-JAMES!"

Alexander saw James stuck between piles of wood, his face all bloody and bruised "A-alex.." He cried weakly, Alexander kneeled infront of him, trying to remove the heavy debris off him.

The water was rising into James neck "A-alex..."

Tears welled up Alexander's eyes, hus hands now had small cuts from all the wood he was removing "I-it'll be o-okay J-james! i-i'll get y-you out!" He mutters, trying to carry that huge metal off James "A-alex..." The water was rising at James chin.

"Shh, I know..I know.." Alex hiccupped, his body growing weaker every minute.

The water was above them now, Alex was trying so hard to look underwater, he swam up to inhale some air and dove back down to try and pull James out of the water.

James looked at Alexander tearfully as he was getting pulled, he knew there was no hope for him, but he couldn't let Alexander die too.

James held Alexander's hands, intertwining it with his, Alex looked at James with a broken look.

James smiled, and let go of his hands as he whispered softly underwater "I love you, Alex..."

Alexander woke up on a boat the next day.

Alexander was hyperventilating, he couldn't think straight "JOHN?! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!"

Suddenly, a pair of blinding lights was dashing towards him, along with deafening beeping. He froze at the spot.

This was it, this was the end. Before, he imagined death so much it felt more like a memory, but this is where it gets him, on his feet, several feet ahead of him, now that he sees it coming will he run or will let it be? there was no beat, no melody.

He closed his eyes, preparing for the impact, this was the end of the line, he was finally gonna see his family ag--

"HAMILTON!"

in the eye of the hurricane

Alexander felt his body getting pushed to the side, he fell, along with another person. Alexander felt tears on the corner of his eyes, Why...

I-I couldn't seem to die...

"YOU IDIOT! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN A MIDDLE OF A HURRICANE?!" The voice screamed at him, it seemed familiar. But he couldn't  remember who it belonged to.

Then he remembered why he was running aimlessly in the hurricane in the first place.

"J-John, I-I need to f-find John!" He gasped out "Ha--"

"NO! HE MIGHT BE IN DANGER AS WE SPEAK! WE NEED TO FIND HIM!" He screamed, trying to stand up, but no avail.

He fell back to the ground, he felt pathetic "J-john.." He hiccupped, warm liquid falling on his face "H-hamilton... Y-your c-cryin--"

"J-John... O-oh God, please... God please let me know he's safe..please keep him safe.." He prayed, clasping both his hands together "John...I-i'm so sorry..." He cried

"Shh... It'll be alright..." The voice said softly, calming him down.

Something  about his voice soothed him, he finally gave up, surrendering himself to the person, it was as if all the noise disappeared when the voice started to hum a familiar lullaby.

He felt his body float in the air, he was being carried, bridal style, he clutched at the body, leaning his head on the person's chest "J-john..."

in the eye of the hurricane

It was still raining, but there was no noise.

there is quiet

He felt his eyes close, and the world black out, he finally relaxed, tears falling down his eyes as he entered a world of darkness.

quiet.
