"Quinn Hughes?" Matt asked as she answered the phone, all Sunny could seem to do was laugh. She dropped her phone, catching it before it hit the floor and she tried to stop her flustered laugh.

"At least it wasn't Jack." Sunny responded with a grin, her smile faltering slightly when she noticed the bruise under his eye from his fight with Deslauriers.

"I'd rather it be none of the Hughes." Matt said, she could feel her heart race, overwhelmed with anxiety over her feelings.

"Rather me date a Ranger?" Sunny was naturally a flirt, but with Matt it became a thousand times easier.

He tilted the phone up momentarily and she could hear a muffled noise could from him. His face came back on the screen and he smiled shyly.

"If any, Id prefer me."

Though its what she wanted to hear, she didn't expect it. "You'd probably be my top pick." She responded with a teasing tone, but she was serious and he knew it too.

"What're you doing after practice tomorrow?" Matt asked, setting his phone up onto the counter. "Shit, I'm too tall." She let out a giggle as his head was cut from the view.

"I have an assignment to finish but I've got a few more days." She answered as he lifted the phone back up, deciding to sit somewhere.

"I haven't gone to too many restaurants since being here but if you pick a place, I'm down for anything." He spoke casually, letting off a shrug as he sat in his hotel bed.

"I'll look at places at practice." Sunny told him, unable to hold back her smile as she watched him on the screen.

"Hmm?" He hummed tiredly, noticing the way she was staring.

"You're cute." She shrugged, sitting up from her bed to sit at her vanity.

Matt smiled, but she could tell he was fighting it, "even with the black eye?"

"Yup."
