We're ten chapters away from 100! Yay!

Also! Ace and Titus are two different dogs because I said so. It's not a major fact but I do not feel like everyone asking why I'm referring to them as two different dogs.

LETS GET TO IT!!

Normal POV

"Calm down, Grayson." Damian said as he wrapped his arms around the child. Dick tensed at the contact, but allowed himself to be pulled backwards. "This is Timothy Drake, he's a . . . Friend."

Tim smirked at Damian calling him a friend, Damian scowled.

Dick stood where he was, and stayed there when Damian let him go. Damian held his hand out to the boy, "Knife."

Dick looked taken back and clung to it, squeezing the grip like his life depended on it. Damian held his ground and kept his hand out.

The ebony haired boy sighed and dropped it into Damian's waiting hands. Damian cracked a small smile and thanked him. "Me and Tim are going to go and talk for a minute. Stay in here."

Dick nodded mutely and turned to walk to the other side of the room.

Before Damian could even get a word out Tim said, "So that's the Talon kid? He's small."

"He's nine."

Tim chuckled, "What made you think bringing him here was the best plan?"

Damian looked back at Dick, who was sitting on the floor with Ace. "I couldn't leave him with them."

The Court, Tim understood. They were bad news.

"So why'd you call me?" Tim glanced over at Dick, "You seem to have him under control."

Damian averted his eyes, he tried everything before calling Tim for help. "I needed someone who was good with anger issues."

Tim shot Damian a hard glare, but sighed at his defeated face. "You die one time. Alright, what's he like?"

"He does like Ace, Titus wasn't to fond of him." Tim snorted, he meant Titus was scared of the tiny assassin child. "He doesn't talk much, hardly anything. He prefers body language, like Cain."

"Why didn't you call her? This is right up her ally."

"I couldn't get a hold of her." Damian gritted his teeth. "Now if you'd let me continue?" Tim made an exaggerated hand movement telling Damian to carry on.

"He's fast, Drake. One wrong move and he'll have you pinned to the floor with a knife at your neck. He– Don't say how you could never be pinned by an eight-year old. He's fast and agile, was even before he was taken. So please take into consideration everything you say and do around him."

Tim scoffed, "Yeah Yeah. Don't provoke the baby." Damian rolled his eyes and went over to Dick.

Damian crouched down to the small boy's height, "Dick." That was all it took for Dick to stare at Damian intently. Damian stared back at him, attempting to read him as he could others.

Damian looked for anything in Dick's large, discolored eyes. For fear or anxiousness, trust, nervousness.

But like Damian, he was taught to be void of emotion. And always somehow had a blank slate of a face.

"Drake is going to talk with you. Your not in any trouble, I just thought he may be able to help you. Is that okay?" Damian tried to open himself up a bit. He knew Dick read people too, searched them for any answers he may need.

So Damian tried to show that Tim was a good person, not a threat. And that Dick wasn't in any trouble, and that he just wanted to help him. He tried to show that he was being truthful.

It worked, Dick nodded before standing and walking over to Tim. Damian watched Tim hold a hand out for Dick to grab, (unfortunately) he knew Tim was the right choice.

Dick grabbed the waiting hand after a pause, then the two walked away.

"So you like Ace, huh?" Tim had taken them both outside. By a tree in the back, yeah there was a forest full of them, but he liked this one.

Dick had climbed up to a higher branch while Tim leaned against the trunk.

Tim assumed Dick nodded. "When Bruce first took Damian in from the League. He was angry and closed off, a little like you." Dick looked down at him. "Bruce got him a dog, Titus. Damian softened up a bit, he really liked animals. Bruce gave him something to care for and he opened up. That's probably why Damian introduced you to Ace."

It was silent, a comfortable silence as Tim and Dick both just stared off into the distance. Each thinking about one thing or another.

"Hey, come here." Tim said, waving for Dick to meet him at the ground. Tim almost yelped when Dick fell strait to the ground from the branch, that was well a ways off the ground. Tim hid the surprise quick, "You like to be up high?"

Dick looked around, but nodded all the same. Tim made a motion for Dick to follow as he started walking towards the manor.

They stopped at the wall where a ladder had been placed. It was always there, fastened to the wall. Dick tilted his head at Tim in question.

"Where going up to the roof, I want to show you something." Tim offered him a smile, which Dick responded with a quick flash of his own. They climbed up, crawling to the middle of the roof, Tim laid on his back.

"There's a nice view of the sky up here." Dick looked over at Tim and copied his position. "The manor's not in the middle of Gotham so you can see the sky better. It's really nice at night."

It was quiet again as they watched the clouds in the darkening sky.

"Nice," Dick said quietly. Tim smiled.

Damian stepped outside after receiving the text from Tim saying he and Dick were on the roof.

Damian climbed up quietly. He was about to ask what they were doing, but stopped when he saw Tim press a finger to his mouth. Damian looked over at Dick and saw him asleep for one. It was a rare occurrence to see him asleep at all, especially when he was around others.

"He's a good kid," Tim signed. Damian nodded as he came all the way onto the roof, he was surprised Dick hadn't heard him climb up. (If he hadn't run tests, he would've thought Dick's hearing was more enhanced than most Talons)

"Any trouble?" Damian signed back as he sat on the roof.

"Almost. He heard something in the woods, he was ready to jump strait off the roof."

"He does that," Damian sighed. He almost had a heart attack the first time Dick did it off a building.

"Call me if you ever need help with him, he's a pretty cool kid." Damian stared at Tim, a little shocked by his words. But he wasn't necessarily surprised, though Dick was closed off and hard to read, you could tell that he once was (and hopefully still is) a bright, curios, and talented kid.

"I will," Damian signed. Tim nodded before standing to leave.

Tim turned around before he climbed down. "Just work with him, be patient. He means good, just needs to learn what actions are good." Damian nodded and Tim climbed down.

Damian turned towards Dick, who - luckily - was still sleeping peacefully. Damian picked him up, it is always confused him to think about how such a tiny and light boy could be so strong.

With a bit of struggle, Damian made it off the roof and into the manor. He got Dick changed (he woke up, but went back to sleep after seeing it was only Damian) and put into bed. Damian shut off the lights and left the door open a crack.

Dick was a good kid, it was a fact Damian had come to believe was absolutely true. Tim had only solidified that. With a little help, some correct guidance, Dick could be the greatest of them all.
