Chapter 10
The Revelation

Newt entered the Macy's store, then Tina, Queenie, Jacob, and lastly Rosemary. She insisted on going last anyways, so she could think more.

A bag hovers in mid-air, as Rosemary watched it go. Her head filled in confusion and she turned to Newt, who was observing it with his blue eyes.

"A Demiguise. They're often invisible, which makes the fur be used to make Invisible Cloaks." He explained to he with a hushed voice. Rosemary nodded, with a faint ohh.

Newt approached it with a slowed pace. "They're fundamentally peaceful, but they can give a nasty nip if provoked." He whispered to them, as he followed and tailed behind it.

The Demiguise appeared into view. It was a silvery-haired creature, and it had big curious eyes. It looked like a monkey, to be honest.

Newt turned to Queenie and Jacob. "You two..., head that way." He ordered them softly, and they started to shift.

"And try very hard not to be predictable." Newt added quickly as Jacob and Queenie exchanged perplexed glances with each other.

Rosemary heard a roar in the distance. She whirled around to Newt and Tina. "Was that the Demiguise?" She asked Newt, who shook his head.

"No, I think it might be the reason that the Demiguise is here."

They followed the Demiguise quietly, the creature turned to look at Newt quizzically, before moving up to a set of side stairs. Newt smiled and moved.

•~•

Rosemary looks around the attic, it had boxes filled with china: teacups, kitchenware, and dinner services.

The Demiguise first looked around to check, before emptying the bag he was holding filled with the confectionary hidden inside it.

"Its sight operates on probability, so it can sometimes see the immediate future." Rosemary heard Newt say, as she gazed upon the cute creature.

Newt then creeped up behind the Demiguise. "What's it doing now?" Tina asked from behind, as Rosemary watched him.

"It's babysitting." Newt simply said, as he moved quietly. "This is my fault. I thought I had them all - but I must have miscounted." He said drearily, as he kneeled beside the Demiguise, who makes way for him, and Newt placed his suitcase down.

Rosemary's head filled with questions and confusion spread quickly in her head. "What is it -" She started to ask, but she didn't get to finish.

Tina looked up in horror, as Rosemary saw a large creature with scales that are in the shades of blue. It looked like a serpent.... Only bigger.

"It was babysitting that?" asked Tina.

The face of an Occamy came into view, as Rosemary ducked behind Newt, who had his left arm in a protective shield, and his wand out. This Occamy was huge, instead of the cute small guys that Rosemary saw back in the case.

"Occamies are choranaptyxic. So... They grow to fill - available space." Newt told them with a soft voice.

The Occamy seems to see Newt, and cranes its head towards him. Newt held a hand up, gently. "Mummy's here."

Rosemary didn't see the Demiguise, whose eyes flash a brilliant blue. She didn't understand why he was like that, and left him to be.

And realized it was a mistake.

Queenie moves slowly forward, her gaze at the Occamy, and accidentally kicks a tiny glass bauble, that jingles as it rolls.

The Occamy snapped at the sound of the jingle, and screeches. Newt tries to calm the creature down.

"Woah! Woah!"

Jacob and Queenie stagger back to find cover, as the Demiguise jumps on the arms of Jacob, who looks distressed.

The Occamy swoops, scooping Newt onto its back, as it thrashes around the attic. Rosemary was immediately on her feet, when a cabinet almost hit her.

"Right, we need an insect, any kind of insect - and a teapot! Find one!" He shouts out drastically, as he clings onto the back of the Occamy.

Tina scrambles to find any insect, as she narrowly misses Jacob, as he staggered about, the Demiguise clinging to his back.

Rosemary saw Newt was having a hard time staying on top of the Occamy, as it gets more and more distraught, and thrashes around wildly, its wings destroying the roof of the building.

Tina crawls on the floor, in pursuit of the cockroach that Jacob spotted, as Rosemary attempts to calm down the Occamy. "Hey! Stop!" She tries.

Queenie screams as she is knocked to the ground by the force of the Occamy thrashing around. Jacob dives forward, as he finally got ahold of the cockroach.

Rosemary turns to see a teapot, and grabs it quickly. "Teapot!" She screamed at Jacob.

At her scream, the Occamy reared again, squishing Jacob and the Demiguise against one of the rafters.

Rosemary realizes her mistake, as the Occamy was inches away from Jacob's face. Jacob barely dares to breathe.

She sees Newt peering behind the Occamy's head. "Roach in teapot.." He whispered to them frantically.

Jacob tries his best not to have eye contact with the Occamy. "Shh!" He tries to soothe the Occamy, and turns to Rosemary, wide-eyed.

Then he throws the cockroach.

Rosemary quickly dashes towards it, as the Occamy's body uncurls and is swirling around the room.

Newt jumps safely from the Occamy, as he tumbles down the floor. Tina rushes to his side quickly. Queenie decides to take cover with placing a colander over her head.

Rosemary lands on her knees, as the cockroach falls in the teapot. The Occamy rears up, and shrinks rapidly as it rises, before dashing down to the teapot. Rosemary lowers her head, bracing for an impact, but the Occamy just races down into the teapot opening, and glides inside.

Newt dashes forward, and jams a lid on the opening. Rosemary and Newt pant heavily, with a sigh of relief as they locked eyes with each other.

"Choranaptyxic. They also shrink to fit themselves in." Newt says, as Rosemary gives him the teapot.

Tina was suddenly beside Rosemary. "Tell me the truth - was that everything that came out of the case?"

Newt sighs. "That's everything - and that's the truth." Rosemary grins in sheer amusement and relief.

•~•

Graves Apparated to the Second Salem Church, which was in ruins. Rather than looking nervous, Graves looks intrigued, almost excited.

He drew his wand out, as he approached the church with a wary state of mind. Debris could fall anytime, and he could be the unlucky person who gets conked by it.

He saw Mary Lou's body on the ground, wait, no - it was

He found Credence, his face buried in his hands. He was whimpering in fear. Graves cradled Credence's head. "The Obscurial - was here? Where did she go?" He said, with a tender tone in his voice, but still was devious.

"Help me. Help me." Credence's face was unexplainable - he is traumatized, and his face contorted in terror.

"Didn't you tell me you had another sister?" Credence started to sob again, as Graves attempted to calm him down.

"Please help me." Credence whimpered, Graves didn't answer him.

"Where's your other sister, Credence? The little one, where did she go?" Graves asks Credence, again, but he continue to tremble in fear.

"Please help me." Credence mumbled quietly. Graves suddenly became annoyed, and slapped Credence hard across the face.

Credence looked stunned, as he looked to stare at Graves's eyes.

"Your sister's in grave danger. We need to find her." Graves said, and they Disapparated away.

•~•

"What is this place?" Graves asked, as Credence led the way inside an abandoned building.

"It's where Ma adopted Modesty. She's one of twelve children here. Modesty misses her brothers and sisters, and she sometimes talks about them." Credence trembled, as he and Graves went inside the infrastructure.

"Where's your sister?" He asked Credence, as he pulled his own wand out. Credence stared at cold damp floor. "I.. Don't know." He admitted.

Graves was utterly impatient already, he was this close to finding who is the Obscurus, and walked up the stairwell.

"You're a Squib, Credence. I could smell it off the minute I met you." Graves said, his voice filled with contempt and it sounded disdainful.

His face fell. "What?" Credence said with nervousness in his voice.

Graves pushed past the other room, and tried to find the correct one. He didn't care for Credence anymore. "You have magical ancestry, but no power."

"But you said you could teach me-"

"You're unteachable. Your mother is dead. That's your reward."

Graves paused for a bit, before continuing to speak. "I'm done with you." He concluded.

Credence felt hollow and betrayed, and he didn't move a beat. His breaths starting to become shallow and quick.

Graves went through the dark rooms, as he sees a tiny movement somewhere close to him. "Modesty?"

He advances cautiously towards the room at the end of the corridor.

Modesty was at the corner, cowering at the corner, her face looking fearful, and she was trembling. Graves approaches her slowly. "Modesty." He whispered.

Graves bends to her level, and he keeps his wand, he then played as the soothing and gentle manner he used to use Credence.

"There's no need to be afraid. I'm here with your brother.., Credence."

Modesty suddenly whimpers, at the mention of her brother. Graves started to be confused. "Out you come now.."

Then there was a rumble, as cracks began to appear on the sides. Dust begins to fall, as the room surrounding them starts to disintegrate.

Graves turns to Modesty, who looks scared. She isn't the Obscurial. Modesty was no use to him anymore.

The walls collapsed, and it revealed Credence, who was staring at him, bitter in his eyes, and fury controlling his emotions. Credence couldn't believe the bitter betrayal that his hero, or so h thought, just made.

Graves knew that he made a grave mistake. "Credence... I owe you an apology.." He said, trying to play soothing and gentle again.

Credence's face turned stone cold. "I trusted you. I thought you were my friend. That you were different." He spat bitterly, his face filling with rage.

Graves's face turned a bit pale. "You can control it, Credence." He tried to sound firm with his words.

Credence finally makes eye contact with Graves. "I don't think I want to, Mr. Graves." He whispers, before he unfolded into a beast.

The Obscurus moves beneath Credence's pale skin. An inhuman growl escapes his mouth, and something dark in him starts to bloom.

The dark force finally takes over Credence, his body exploding in a dark black mass, and hurtles forward. It narrowly misses Graves.

Graves stands, as he watched the Obscurus that zooms out and over the city of New York.

Then the chaos started.

I have a feeling I am about to finish this book already. I'm almost at the end! Thank you guys for the huge amount of support. I really, really, appreciate it. Thank you so much! I'm thinking of making an Epilogue too, what do you guys think?
