Chapter 4
The World Inside A Suitcase

Rosemary felt a gush of wind fly past through and she felt two warm hands envelope her in an awkward embrace.

She immediately knew it was Newt and he set her down on the floor. Kowalski came tumbling after her, but Newt didn't bother to catch him.

Newt immediately went to work, and Rosemary knew at once that his speciality was Herbology.

Rosemary attended Hogwarts too, which is unusual for an American, especially the daughter of a MACUSA member. Rosemary was a Ravenclaw, the wise and witty people.

Rosemary started to ponder. What House was Newt in? She always wondered if he was a Gryffindor, or a Hufflepuff. Definitely not a Slytherin.

Newt was hurrying back and forth, as he checked Kowalski's bite, and turned back to mix some concoctions.

Rosemary started to miss Alex. It was true, she and Alex were indeed a thing, but secretly as not to be known by the wizards from MACUSA.

But strangely after meeting this odd strange man named Newt..., she was torn between the two of them.

Yes, it may seem weird for Rosemary to think already about love, with this stranger she just met today. And she was infatuated with him already.

Newt was busy squeezing something when Kowalski asked. "What is that?"

"It's the venom of the Swooping Evil. It may be dangerous, but if handled correctly, it is a good healing medicine." Newt explained as he mixed it and shook it with force.

Suddenly, an actual Swooping Evil appeared and squawked at Kowalski, who yelped in fear. Rosemary's eyes widened in awe and chuckled.

Newt gave him a small smile. "It looks like it isn't good to do that in here." He retorted with a playful smirk on his face. Rosemary couldn't help it but smile at his expressive face.

Newt then opened the door, and the weather was a big disaster! Rosemary gazed up to where Newt was looking, and almost stumbled in surprise.

"A THUNDERBIRD!?" Rosemary shouted over the rain. The majestic beast was flapping its wings, and it looked beautiful. Rosemary never thought that she would ever see one.

Newt whistled. "Frank? Frank!" He shouted over the thunderous sky. The bird gawked loudly and went to the ground, the rain slowly disappearing.

Newt approached it slowly. "Sh..shh., it's okay, Frank." He hushed the creature, and turned to Rosemary and Kowalski. "Do you mind if you back away a bit? Frank doesn't really enjoy the company of strangers." He said.

Rosemary, who didn't realize that, was startled. "Oh! Of course, Mr. Scamander...," She started to say. "Call me Newt, Ms. Graves." He interrupted Rosemary with a smile.

Rosemary was infatuated with that smile, and she felt a faint blush creep up to her cheeks. "Then it's Rosemary for me." She gave him a small smile, and Newt acknowledged her with another smile.

Rosemary looked away in embarrassment. She very much knew that she was blushing already.

"So.., I guess it's time for feeding the creatures. Mind if you guys helped?" Newt turned to Rosemary and Kowalski, who was busy wondering around in awe, and absentmindedly nodded in agreement. "Great! Now here's the food." Newt threw a bucket in Rosemary's way and she caught it in mid-air. It was a bit heavy.

"Got it." Rosemary said, with a bit of strain in her voice as she held the bucket. Newt didn't notice her struggle until he heard her voice and he looked so worried that Rosemary swore that he said a curse word.

"Sorry, Rosemary!" He got the bucket from you, and eased the heavy load of the bucket. "Forgot about that." He apologized quickly. Rosemary just nodded. "No problem."

Kowalski was off feeding already, as Rosemary and Newt walks side by side. Their hands were linked together, and it felt normal for Rosemary, as if she has known this man all her life.

"Rosemary?" She turned to see Newt staring at her, his brilliant sky blue eyes reflecting the sun on the sky. "Yes?"

"The rumors were indeed true." He smiled, and locked his hand with hers. Rosemary tucked a strand of her dark brown hair behind her ear, and pursed her lips quietly. "Which rumors?" Rosemary asked Newt.

"Those who say you are the most beautiful girl that a man could ever set his eyes on."

Rosemary's blood suddenly turned cold, and she had the urge of kissing the man who was in front of her. But she stopped herself.

Rosemary, you just met this man. And for all you know, he is breaking the rules. Yeah, right. He definitely is, and being in love with a criminal and being the daughter of the head of Magical Security in MACUSA was definitely not a good partnership.

"Rosemary? Are you okay?" Rosemary was back to the world, and in front of her was Newt. Rosemary nodded feverishly. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit dizzy." She lied smoothly.

Newt gave her an anxious look before doing the unexpected. He leaned over and kissed Rosemary, his ruffled hair touching her face. And for a brief moment, Rosemary thought she was already in heaven.

But earth was hell.

Newt backed away immediately, after a few moments. Rosemary was in a daze, she couldn't believe that she kissed the Newt Scamander. "I.. I love you.., Rosemary." The nervous boy admitted nervously, and he walked away, leaving Rosemary to stay there, still dazed and confused by what he just did to her.

Kowalski was just throwing the last piece of food to the creature when he heard a howl of wind. He turned to see a bubble outside of- what it seems like a tent maybe.

He emerged from the small tent, and Kowalski realized that he was in a whole new kind of domain. Snowy terrain, most probably.

There was a shapeless black ink-like blob floating in the air. Kowalski neared it in curiosity. He was about to touch it, when he heard a voice. "Don't!" Kowalski flinched back in surprise. It was Newt.

"Whew, thought you were someone else. Where's the girl?" Kowalski asked. Newt shifted uncomfortably. "She's.. Somewhere there." He pointed towards the other domain.

"Oh." Kowalski mumbled and went back inside. Newt had one last look on the unknown being, but for all Newt knew, it was dangerous to let anyone know about it. Even Tina or Rosemary.

•~•

Rosemary sat down inside Newt's workshop. Her gaze then followed a picture of young and pretty woman. Rosemary felt a hint of jealousy pang in her chest.

She looked familiar to Rosemary, as if she had seen her before. She knew that the name started with letter.... L?

"L..Le.." Rosemary racked her brains and tried to remember. "Leto?" But then she hit her head, and she slipped into subconsciousness.

"Hey, Rose!" Rosemary whirled around to see a good friend of hers, Leta Lestrange. The pretty and cheerful Huffepuff girl.

"Pleasure to see you, Leta." Rosemary said awkwardly, she wasn't a social butterfly in school and was normally alone in her dorm.

Then a young man with copper locks of hair suddenly came by. "Hey Leta." He greeted her, and Rosemary could see his cheeks were both red.

"Um, hi..? Do I know you?" Leta tried to sound polite but it didn't really. The boy looked a bit hurt, but he mustered his courage again. "Newt, Newt Scamander. I'm a Hufflepuff too." He tried to reintroduce himself.

Upon seeing the confusion spreading in Leta's face, Rosemary took the opportunity to talk. "Um, hey? I don't think my friend here, knows you." Rosemary told the guy, whose name was Newt. He looked at her blankly.

"Rose.." Leta started but Rosemary ignored her. "So I suggest that you be on your way, and leave us alone, eh?" She said bluntly.

Newt had a hurt look on his face. "I.. I.." He stuttered and ran off. Rosemary couldn't help but feel sorry, but that was all she had to say.

"Rosemary? Rosemary!" Newt gripped Rosemary's shoulders, his eyebrows creased in worry. Rosemary groaned and sat up. "W..wha?" She started, but she remembered of what she remembered of.

"Are you okay?" He said, his lips tugged in a way that made him look adorable. Rosemary nodded. "I'm fine." She said, "Nothing to worry about."

Kowalski just stared at the both of them. "If you guys are done talking, we must get going." He said. It seems like they had a conversation when she was out, Rosemary thought.

Newt cupped Rosemary's cheek. "Hey.." She forced herself to look into his eyes. "Are you telling me everything I should know?"

Rosemary then had the same haunted expression in her eyes again, resulting to a shiver running down Newt's spine.

"N..newt..?" She stammered, and her voice was wavering visibly, Rosemary was shaken badly. Newt gripped her tightly. "What is it?"

"You were the Hufflepuff that I knew in my year in Hogwarts. And you were the man who loved Leta Lestrange." Rosemary said, and she let all of her fears go loose.

So.. Done. I had this chapter pre-made because (Boredom). And now, I have like the weekend to do these stuff. I'm pushing myself to write at least 1000+ words per chapter, so it'll be nicer to enjoy. So... Vote and comment! Thanks for the 100+ reads!
