-Flashback-

Adrien was speechless as he looked at Marinette. It had to be some kind of game. Was she attempting to inflict even more pain on him? Why would she offer him anything in exchange for his continued presence? Why would she desire him by her side if she didn't love him? What if he was a blunder? But what if it turned out to be true? He might be reunited with his princess once more. No! That was something he didn't desire. He was adamant about not forcing her to be at his side. He wanted her to make the decision. But did her pleading for him to stay suggests she was still perplexed? Maybe, he still had a chance to earn her love.

Marinette stood there watching Adrien appear to be having an internal conflict. She needed to persuade him to make the decision quickly. She was unable to separate herself from him. She was adamant about not losing him.

"Please respond. Would you stay then ?" She inquired one more.

Adrien shook his head and closed his eyes. No! This couldn't carry on indefinitely. He refused to let her continue to hurt him, no matter how much he loved her. Adrien tried not to cry by pressing his lips together. He had to say his goodbyes. He had to get out of there before it was too late. But why couldn't he walk away?

"Marinette, please stop. You can't see how much you're hurting me, can you? Stop toying with my emotions. It's not amusing. I'm sorry, but I have to leave. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Goodbye." Adrien pushed himself to move, although he was hoping she would intervene. He desperately wanted to accept the deal, but he couldn't.

"Adrien, please wait!" Marinette called out, making him stop in his tracks. "I am serious. I would do anything if you stayed. Please," Marinette begged.

Adrien pondered if he really should take the deal or simply walk away. He simply couldn't handle the pain that came along with having her around, but the more he thought about it, the more he realized one thing. He was still and will always be undeniably in love with this girl. There was no way he would have succeeded in walking away from her for good.

"Anything?" he asked, still thinking about it.

"Anything," She repeated.

"What about Luka?"

Marinette shrugged. "Adrien, I am promising to do anything you ask for, and no one will change that. In return, I ask for two things. Your forgiveness and your stay."

"So, anything?" Adrien asked again, still in disbelief.

Marinette gulped, not knowing where he was going with it, but it didn't matter. The reality was she was willing to do anything for him to stay. She nodded and confirmed it once again, "anything."

"O-okay. I- I want-" Adrien hesitated. He couldn't help but wonder if what he was about to do was fair. He knew she was only doing this for him to stay, but part of him wanted to know how far her feelings for him really went. He wondered if she loved him as he did her. This was the only way he could see that, but was it really worth it? The last thing he wanted was for her to sacrifice her happiness for his, but once again, he always believed her happiness could be him.

Making up his mind, Adrien decided to take the deal. Taking a deep breath, he stated his wants and conditions.

"I want a second chance. I am not asking for a relationship. At least not yet. I don't want to force you to date me. But I do want to start from zero," he confessed. Marinette was surprised by his request. She was expecting the worst, but that was not Adrien's plan. Was it?

"I want us to forget the past and start over. As if we were fourteen again. I want you to come back to the dorm with me. I want you to be open to my flirting and advances or at least give me a chance like you would any other guy without rejecting me because of our past. I want us to earn each other's trust again. I want to earn your trust and your love. If I succeed, then I want you to be forever mine."

Marinette nodded and smiled. For a second, she thought he would simply ask her to break up with Luka and return to him, but that was not the case. He wanted to earn her love. He wanted a chance to fight for her. The thought filled her heart with immense joy. Only reminding her of the reasons she loved him so much. If only he believed she already loved him.

"But-" Adrien spoke up again as he noticed her open her mouth to talk.

"But the second you break a promise, lie, or hurt me in any type of way or form, I am gone. I will take it as your final rejection and leave for good. I can't keep hurting, Marinette. I just can't."

Marinette stared into Adrien's vibrant green eyes. His condition was fair, and she knew it. She had hurt him for far too long.

"Deal."

-End of Flashback-

Marinette stood silent for a minute as she remembered the conversation.

"I offered to do anything he asked. All I asked in return was that he would stay and not throw away his future," Marinette confessed quietly.

Luka remained silent. Part of him wanted to know what it was Adrien asked for, but that was not what worried him the most. No! What truly got him thinking and worrying was Marinette's actions. Her willingness to do anything for Adrien, even sacrifice herself for him, was unlike anything he had seen before. It was evident that she still loved him greatly.

"You are getting back together with him, aren't you?" Luka asked sadly.

"You would think he would ask for that, but no. I- no- but-," she responded, feeling conflicted.

"But you want to, don't you?" he finished for her.

Marinette stayed silent. Luka chuckled sadly.

"You do," he whispered.

"I- I don't know. I am so confused. I want to be with you, I do, but there are times I-" Marinette hesitated again.

"There are times you miss being with him," once again Luka finished for her.

Marinette nodded. She couldn't lie to him. She had been honest with Luka about her feeling for Adrien from the very start, and she refused to end that now.

"Believe it or not, I understand. I mean, you only broke up with him two weeks ago, and I know our relationship was a bit too soon, but I couldn't help myself. What you are feeling is normal, and I expected it, but I refuse to give up on us yet. I want us to continue being in this relationship if you'll still have me. I want to be able to help you move on."

Marinette smiled. Luka was truly such a great guy, but he didn't know the full deal yet.

"Luka, before I agree, you should know the full deal," Marinette said nervously. Luka nodded in agreement.

"I agreed to give him a second chance. Not relationship-wise as he stated that he did not want to force me to love him, but as best friends. He asked for an opportunity to fight for my heart. No rejections, no games, no lies, just like we were when we were younger."

Luka nodded understandingly. To be honest he secretly admired that Adrien did not try to weasel himself into a chance to date Marientte again but had decided to fight for her like a man. That was all Luka could ask for. A fair fight.

"I agree," he stated, taking the bluenette by surprise.

"What?"

"I can't believe I am about to say this, but what he asked for is fair. He wants a chance to fight just like I do. Melody, you are confused. Maybe this can help you figure out what and who it is that you truly want to be with."

Luka then smiled and stood up confidently. "Besides, I am not worried. That blonde model may have had you first, but I will be your last. You are my soulmate after all." He chuckled.

"I trust you, and I know you will never cheat on me again. Soon you'll realize I am the only man for you," he laughed but soon became serious.

"But if I am not and you decide to try with him, all I ask is that you come to me first. Please."

"I promise. Thank you, Luka."

"Come one, gorgeous. I'll drop you off."
