APRIL 23, 2002, FRANCE, MONT BLANC.

The Captain stood on his usual spot in The Hyperion's bridge, arms crossed. Himeko was right besides him with her casual clothes. She was staying here to take the Captain's role once he is deployed. Bronya was on his left, checking a couple of different things in her scanners. Also, she was wearing a new outfit to fight the cold outside.

Y/N:"Bronya, are Kallen and Mei ready?"

Bronya:"Subject Kallen Kaslana and Raiden Mei are ready for deployement, sir."

Y/N:"Good. Grace, what's on our scanners?"

Grace:"Hmm... I do detect Honkai energy around, but way less than yesterday."

Himeko:"The Kaslana said she putted someone to guard this place, right? Whoever it is, they have to be down there, protecting the place."

In the snowy mountain of Mont Blanc, a ruinous temple lays. The entrance looks clear. The only problem is, it goes underground.

Y/N:"Yes, but we have to expect resistance anyways. I don't think the beasts are fully gone."

Grace:"No, they have to be there. I'm sure of that. Still, the energy we are detecting it's weak. Don't expect heavy resistance."

Y/N:"Then Mei and Kallen will be more than enough for this."

Himeko:"Captain, are you going too?"

Y/N:"Yeah. I want to see how can you command this ship without my help."

Himeko:"Oh? Well, I'll try my best then."

Y/N:"I'm sure you'll do. Ai chan, prepare a chopper for me and my Valkyries. We are going down. Bronya, you're coming with me."

Bronya:"Yes, captain."

Ai Chan:"Understood captain."

Y/N and Bronya went into the elevator and pressed the docking bay button. Bronya looked at the captain, a little confused.

Bronya:"Why are we here, captain? Shouldn't we stay home for a while? Otto could attack at any given moment."

Y/N:"That's why we're gonna get something to make sure he doesn't."

Bronya:"What?"

Y/N:"You'll see. Keep those scanners up, if you detect any life forms besides Honkai, report it."

Bronya:"Got it."

When the elevator doors opened, Y/N and Bronya walked towards his other two Valkyries, Mei and his new addition, Kallen. Both had new outfits for the cold environment.

Y/N:"Seems you two are enjoying your new clothes."

Kallen:"This ones are my size, which is a plus."

Mei:"I like them! Thanks for the gift, Captain!"

Y/N:"Don't sweat it. Now, let's go. We have things to do."

The Captain went inside one of the available helicopters. Bronya sat with him, still focused on her scanners. Mei and Kallen sat in front of him, both still a little on edge with one another. As soon everyone was aboard, the helicopter took off, flying towards the temple's entrance.

Y/N:"Kallen, this black cube, do you know it's exact location?"

Kallen:"Yes. I will guide us through the temple. My friend should be down there too, if possible, I would like to save her, Captain."

Y/N:"We never leave our people behind, Kallen. If she's an ally, we will rescue her."

Kallen:"I'm happy to hear that. Captain, have you... remembered something as of lately?"

Mei and Bronya looked at Y/N, waiting for his answer. Truth be told, when Y/N went to sleep, he had a dream. Memories of his old life started to appear. Some were pleasant, others not that much.

Y/N:"Yes, and I want to clarify two things. One, I'm not the same man that you once knew. I will never leave my people behind. I won't leave you alone again."

Kallen:"O-Oh... that makes me... very happy."

Y/N:"And about... us. I... don't know. I'm already with-"

Kallen:"I know. Murata is a very straightforward girl. But you won't have to worry about that anymore."

Y/N:"Why?"

Kallen:"I'm very charismatic. We should talk about this later tho."

Y/N:"Agreed."

Mei:"C-Captain, are you... gonna start a relationship with two girls?"

Bronya:"Hmph."

Y/N:*Sigh*

Mei:"I-I'M NOT JUDGING! I-It's just that I-"

Pilot:"We're here!"

Y/N:"Alright people, let's get the relic and get out of here as soon as possible, chop chop!"

Y/N unseathed his plasma sword and walked accompanied by Mei and her katana. Kallen grabbed two Desert Eagles and followed Mei and Y/N. Bronya was levitating besides Kallen, her metallic arms visible.

When the group reached the entrance, they could see how the stairs that goes underneath the earth were getting darker and darker.

Kallen:"Hmm... I thought I 'left the lights on' just in case I came back here."

Bronya:"The beasts could've turned them off. Subject Bronya can light the place up for us."

Mei:"How exactly?"

Bronya opened the palm of one of her metallic arms, a big flame appearing from it.

Bronya:"I recently made some modifications to my weapons, including a flamethrower."

Mei:"Convenient."

Y/N:"Bronya, Kallen, take the lead. We will follow you two."

Kallen:"Right."

The Kaslana patted Bronya's shoulder, and took the lead. She followed Kallen, iluminating the place for her. Y/N and Mei walked close to each other, keeping an eye on their allies.

Mei:"Hey, Captain."

Y/N:"Yeah?"

Mei:"I wanted to talk about Kiana."

Y/N:"Go ahead."

Mei:"She... she will come back to us, right? I mean, the injuries won't-"

Y/N:"Focus on the mission, Mei. I need you with your mind clear. Still, don't worry, whether Kiana can fight or not, she will come with us."

Mei:"That's all I needed to hear, thanks."

Kallen:"Halt!"

When the group went down the stairs, the path divided into three hallways. The one in the mad had corpses all around from different zombies. The one on the left was blocked by debris. The one on the right was extremely obscure.

Y/N:"Any problem, Kallen?"

Kallen:"Curses... the path is blocked. We either go through the traps up ahead or... go through the cursed path."

Mei:"That last one doesn't sound good. Traps I can dodge. Demons, ghosts and other-wordly creatures? Not so much."

Bronya:"I agree. Subject Bronya is not very fond of monsters."

Y/N:"Traps it is. Kallen, do you know where they are placed?"

Kallen:"More or less. I never took this path since there was no reason for is. Okay, here we go..."

She took the middle path and started walking along with Bronya. Along the way, the different wounds inflicted to the dead zombies changed. First, they got impaled. Then, poisoned. Burned alive, smashed on the walls...

They reached a point where there was no more corpses. Now, it's their time to dodge the traps.

Kallen:"I can't assure our safety anymore."

Y/N:"Do you know the layout of the temple?"

Kallen:"We walked for like, 5 minutes. Hmm... I believe we should be almost there."

Y/N:"Is just a straight line?"

Mei:"A straight line filled with a crap ton of things that can kill you, sir."

Y/N:"True, true. I'll take the lead, let me handle this."

Y/N walked next to Kallen and crouched down. Bronya crouched down next to him, providing The Captain. some light with her flames. He was scanning the floor, walls and ceilings for anything that shouldn't be there, marks or cracks on them that he could use to spot the traps. The entrance was right after the trap, so that was the last one

In the ceiling, there was a crack making a square form. The Captain knew what it was.

Y/N:"Everyone, stand besides me and make a run for it when I give you the signal, okay?"

The Valkyries nodded and stood besides Y/N. They were all glancing at the roof, wondering what exactly was gonna happen. Since Bronya was the slowest member of the group, he lifted her up, carrying her like a child. The little Valkyrie, who was still looking at the ceiling catched up with Y/N.

Bronya:"The ceiling will smash us, right?"

Y/N:"Yup."

Mei:"Great..."

Kallen:"Bronya, can you breach the gates?"

Bronya:"Yes."

Y/N:"Then, let's do this. On my mark... GO!"

Bronya sended rockets towards the gates, demolishing the rocky gates. The group made a run for it. As soon as they started running, the ceiling fell on them. Luckily, they all dived towards the exit, making it out of that corridor of death safe and sound.

The Captain rolled around, putting Bronya really close to him to keep her safe. He managed to stop himself, sitting down to see where they are now. This part of the temple was very beautiful...

The cube rests in a shrine on the center of the temple. Around it, were a big pool of water, decorated with unkown flora and vegetation. It almost looks... ancient. There was no roof, letting the sun enter the temple, yet somehow, the big hole couldn't be seen from the outside. On the walls were statues of ancient warriors, none of them known why Y/N or the group.

Bronya:"Captain... look."

Bronya pointed at the shrine in the center. A girl was in the stairs leading to the cube, surrounded by dead bodies of different honkai beasts. From zombies, to even Templar class beasts. Mei recognised the girl almost immediatly.

Mei:"S-Sakura?!"

Kallen:"I met her a couple of months ago, before joining you Captain. After a little chat, she agreed on staying here."

Y/N:"I knew the maiden had her secrets. She looks to be asleep tho."

Sakura was sitting on her toes, with her eyes closed. Her katana rested on her lap, stained in purple blood. The girl had a calm smile, as if there was nothing in this world that could hurt her. The Captain approached the sleeping girl. Before he could put a hand on her shoulder, she quickly grabbed her katana and lunged at him. The Captain grabbed it, stopping it from ever touching his neck.

Sakura:"Oh. My apologies. I thought you were a zombie, captain."

She retrieved the katana, seathing it.

Y/N:"All good. We're here for the relic... and you, if you're interested in coming."

Sakura:"On one condition. My village. I want you to keep it safe. If you can hold that promise, then I will work for you."

Y/N:"We have a deal then. Now, to the relic."

Sakura stood up and walked towards the shrine with Y/N. The cube was in mid of a little rock table. It was floating, shining in a deep purple color. The Captain feels... atracted to it, as if it was calling him.

Kallen ordered Mei and Bronya to scout the area for more threats. Mei didn't liked being ordered by her, but she followed the orders, going around the place in search of more beasts. Bronya stood near the entrance, using her scanners instead. Meanwhile, Kallen reagrouped with Y/N and Sakura.

Y/N:"So, that's the cube. Should I grab it?"

Kallen:"My friend told me, something would happen once you retrieve it. He also said to not be scared of it, for it won't hurt us."

"He?" Thought Y/N. Not fully trusting this "friend" of Kallen, he walked towards the cube and touched it. As soon as he did, he was forced to close his eyes. A little on edge, he opened them again, just to be in a complete different place.

The space around him had no gravity what so ever. Floating cubes, and more specifically, bubbles where all around. When inspecting the bubbles, he can see reflections of different worlds, with different paths and heroes. In one of them, he can see himself from a couple of days ago, with a huge difference.

His brothers were there, helping him.

Exploring this new world, a little curious on what this was, he noticed a tree in the distance. The tree was white and purple, it was very beautiful. Also, he now noticed how his body was transparent and tainted blue, as if he was a glitch in the system.

Besides the tree was a man, patiently waiting for him to come. The Captain felt nostalgia when he saw the man. Somehow, they already know each other.

Y/N went towards him and softly landed on the ground, still amazed by this place. He was looking all around, checking out the different bubbles to see all the possibilites. Some were... not good. Others were completely different universes where not even the Honkai was present...

Or him.

Eventually, he meeted up with the only being present there. Y/N noticed how he looks like a Kaslana.

???:"Took you quite the time to come here, 'captain.' Your thoughts?"

Y/N:"What is this place? Who are you? What am I-"

Kevin:"Relax, we have enough time to answer all of your questions. Let's begin with an easy one, 'Who am I.' Kevin, I'm Kevin Kaslana. I was once a Fire Moth... now I'm just a man who seeks to end this endless war once and for all."

Y/N:"Where are we?"

Kevin:"This is called The Sea of Quanta. Here, time works... differently. It straight up doesn't work. In here, we can control time, going back and forth as I see fit. In the Sea of Quanta is where the different universes resides. Constantly, new universes are made due to our decisions."

Y/N:"And the tree?"

Kevin:"The imaginary tree, the one who creates civilisations such as us, the humans, on those universes created by the Sea of Quanta. It is said, those who come here die..."

Y/N:"Wait, does that mean-"

Kevin:"No, no. We are not dead. I'm merely trapped here and you are not even here, just your conscience. To make it simple, I putted a... worm hole on the cube to bring you to me."

Y/N:"Why?"

Kevin:"Here comes the big question. Sit, there's much to talk."

Both sat down on the floor. The Captain was still a little on edge, being in a place that looks alien by him.

Kevin:"Before anything, I wanted to give my condolences by your brother's death. As much as I wanted them to succeed just like you, their survival will be humanity's downfall."

Y/N:"What?!"

Kevin:"Dr. Mei, your creator, made the three of you to defeat the Honkai, at least, in your universe. Sadly, your two brothers weren't as advanced as you are. You were different. If they survive, you would never be able to evolve and adapt. You would never be the captain you are now and, eventually, when Serin comes back, you would get defeated, so will humanity in the long run."

Y/N:"What your saying is... they have to die no matter what?"

Kevin:"Trust me, I searched for a different solution a hundred times already. Every time I manage to save them, you die. I knew you would prefer that, so I used all my strength to make those universes work. They don't. Nor Joshua or Mark were capable of doing your work. They succumb to the Honkai, always. In a way... it makes sense. Mei made you to be Fire moth's leader. A shame you couldn't join us in the past."

Y/N:"Why not pulling time back and make sure this... 'Dr. Mei' survives?"

Kevin:"Like I said, every decision we make creates a new universe, one where you don't do that. There's a universe in which the three of you are created on time, and help humanity during my era. Sadly, we don't manage to defeat the Honkai, just merely seal them off of our world. Which gave me the hope needed to find a solution to this war."

Y/N:"So, now comes the one million dollar question. How do we defeat them?"

Kevin:"This may not be enough for you but... I'm working on it. So far, there's one thing you need to know. The cube. It holds the souls of other Fire Moth members. Try to get used to the cube and eventually, you could summon them to aid you."

Y/N:"So, we really don't have a plan to defeat them, right?"

Kevin:"You can defeat them, but we must find a way to erase them from history. I'll take care of that, you only have to focus on not dying."

Y/N:"Is there a way of getting you out of here?"

Kevin:"Gray Serpent is working on that, don't worry."

Y/N:"I knew they were working on something... but not this big."

Kevin:"Is there anything else you wanna talk about?"

Y/N:"When Kiana got controlled by Serin, was it you who said those words to me?"

Kevin:"Correct. I've been watching different universes, helping the different versions of you along the way. I knew it would work."

Y/N:"Is there no consequencies for helping me?"

Kevin:"Like I said, as soon as I mess with a universe, another one is immediatly created where I don't help you. In the end, I can't be the one who ends this, but I can create a chance for us to succeed."

Y/N:"How did you manage to put the Fire Moths in the cube?"

Kevin:"I go back in time, and steal their souls when they die, simple."

Y/N:"That sounds... cruel."

Kevin:"I'm here to win a war, Y/N. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to end this."

Y/N:"Did all the Fire Moth members die?"

Kevin:"Not at all. I won't reveal their identities to not... change your future. Just know that one is really close to you and the other, just like me, is keeping an eye on you."

Y/N:"I think that would be all, for now. If I want to contact with you, how do I do it?"

Kevin:"Use the cube when you sleep. As long as you're asleep, you'll be transported here."

Y/N:"Right."

Kevin:"Good luck Captain. Oh, I almost forgot. About Kiana..."

Y/N:"Yeah?"

Kevin:"I don't really care if you manage to find the real one or not, but I want to test your intelligence. Remember this phrase: "Like looking in a mirror."

Y/N:"What does it-"

Before he could question him, his eyes were forced to close, yet again. When he opened them, he was back at the shrine with his Valkyries. Everyone was around him, a little confused.

Kallen:"Sir? You've been there for an entire minute. It's everything okay?"

Y/N:"...like looking in a mirror..."

He stared at Kallen. Those visions of his past came back to him, but they are more clear now. He remembered more of his past life, more specifically, the moments Kevin got him out of his tube, and back inside.

Y/N:"I'm fine. We have the cube, let's get out of here people, Mission acomplished."

JUNE 24, 2002. ST. FREYA.

After the retrieval of the cube, everything calmed down. Y/N's youngest Valkyries joined St. Freya's classes in order to advance to the A-rank. Kiana was back on her feet, but she was under the captain's supervision. In no way must she go to a mission before her full recovery.

Fu Hua was also in a good condition. A brief summary of what happened was given to her by the captain himself. She now stays closer to him, not really trusting Kallen in the slightest. Also, she broke any ties with Otto, fully joining The Hyperion now.

Sakura stood with The Captain for the time being. She mostly works like a bodyguard of sorts. This new relationship made Fu Hua and her have a rivalry, since both do the same thing. Also, when they look at each other, it's like they already met...

Kallen was officially, Y/N's Valkyrie. This angered Otto, who tried to sabotage this by making a fake file of Kallen filled with crimes she didn't comit. Theresa saw through this and ignored Otto's attempts, trusting more in her Captain than him.

Himeko developed a friendship with the new Valkyrie. Both went a couple of times around town to just have chats with each other, eventually having one about the captain. It was a heated argument that finished with a result both were happy with. They are sure The Captain will too.

Talking about The Captain... every night, he slept with the cube by his side. No matter what he tries, he can't communicate with the voices inside. Kevin keeps telling him to be patient, it could take a lot of time for it to happen. The two had chats about their lifes. Kevin told him about his past with Kallen, and helped him get part of his memories back. He mostly remembers it all. Mostly.

Currently, the Captain is looking at some files in his room. Theresa gave him the reports of both Fu Hua and Kiana's recovery. Meanwhile, Sakura sat on his bed, meditating.

Y/N:"You know you don't have to be around me at all times, right?"

Sakura:"As your bodyguard, your safety is my only worry."

Y/N:"You can just be a Valkyrie and that's it."

Sakura:"I have no interest in being a soldier. I will help you by saving you when the time is needed, that's all."

Y/N:*Sigh* "There's no point in arguing with you, right?"

Sakura:*Smiles* "No, you're loosing your time."

The captain shook his head and returned to his business. Kiana's report was mostly okay. He noticed how her Honkai energy went up during the fight a couple of times. Serin must've tried to get control, but the girl managed to supress her. What caught his attention was not her file, however, but Fu Hua's.

In it, there's a part written by Theresa, not St. Freya's doctor. It seems Theresa recovered a suit Fu Hua was using during the fight that got destroyed. She repaired it and it's back on The Hyperion, waiting for her to test it.

Y/N:"Hmm..."

Sakura:"Something troubles your mind?

Y/N:"Come with me."

The Captain stood up and walked towards the elevator, accompanied by Sakura. He pressed the Valkyrie  plant, where, as the name suggests, equipment for Valkyrie are stored.

When the elevators doors opened, Fu Hua was there, dressed up in her new suit.

She was throwing some hooks and kicks in the air, testing it. When she putted on the mask, her suit ignited a bit, giving her more power.

Y/N:"I see you're back on shape."

She turned around, startled by his voice. She was so focused on her suit, she didn't notice his presence nor the elevator reaching this part of the ship.

Fu Hua:"Ah, Captain, it's you. My apologies for hiding this to you, I was-"

Y/N:"Water under the bridge, Hua. I'm happy you're okay, that's all."

Fu Hua:"Thanks, captain." *Sigh* "Yes, I'm back on full strength, yet it wasn't enough to protect Kiana from Benares."

Y/N:"She's alive thanks to you, Fu Hua. Don't beat yourself up."

Fu Hua:"Maybe your right..."

Y/N:"Besides, I don't want my favourite assistant to be sad, y'know?"

Fu Hua:*Chuckles* "Himeko won't like that comment."

Y/N:"Perhaps. I came here just to check on you, I'll be back to my work."

Fu Hua:"Wait!"

She quickly walked to the captain, grabbing his arm, stopping him. Y/N turned around, still with his arm grabbed by her.

Fu Hua:"I never gave you a proper thanks for saving me, Captain. So... here it goes."

Fu Hua putted her arms around Y/N's neck and gave him a kiss on his cheek. After that, she turned around, refusing to face him.

Fu Hua:"That's my way of saying thanks. You can leave now!"

Y/N:"Hmmm... I may try to save you more often then."

Fu Hua:"I-Idiot."

The captain chuckled and left, going back at the elevator with Sakura. She leaned on the wall and smirked.

Sakura:"Quite the charmer, aren't you?"

Y/N:"It's part of my personality."

Sakura:"Yeah right."

And just like that, they stopped talking. Their chats were always like that, a couple of words and that's it. Sakura liked it this way and Y/N has no problem with it.

When The Captain returned to his room, he was surprised to see Kallen there, sitting in his bed, her feet moving back and forth. She was nervous about something.

Kallen:"C-Captain! Funny meeting you here!"

Y/N:"It's my room. I fail to see the funny."

Kallen:"Anyways I wanted to have a... private conversation."

She glanced at Sakura who got the memo.

Sakura:"I'll be on the barracks, making sure Mei behaves. If you need me, you know where to find me."

The Captain nodded and watched her leave. Then, Kallen got up and slowly walked towards him.

Kallen:"I've heard you are recovering your memories..."

Y/N:"Slow and steady, but yeah, I recover most of my old life with you... and Otto."

Kallen:"Then, do you remember the day I became the Sixth Seranade? What you said to me?"

Y/N:"Of course I do. 'I'll follow you even to hell itself if it means keeping you safe'. I still hold it."

Kallen:"I see... Captain, what you said to me that day... it meant the world and even more to me."

Y/N:"I'll say it as many times as you want, Kallen."

Kallen:"Thank you. Tell me, did I... Did I had a chance with you?" *Gets closer to him, her hands on his torso.* "Do I have a chance with you?"

Y/N:"Kallen, I won't lie. I would really like to give you what you want, but I'm already taken. Himeko-"

Kallen:"She and I had a talk. We both agreed that, there's a big chance we won't be able to enjoy a normal life thanks to the Honkai, so might as well enjoy it while it lasts. So... we're fine with this... if you're too."

Y/N:"Are you sure you want this?"

Kallen:"200 years, Y/N. I don't care what I have to do to bewith you again. I... I love you."

Y/N nodded and slowly moved his head towards hers. Kallen knew what was about to happen, excitement all around her body. Eventually, their lips met.

The inexperience from both were showing, since their kiss was sloppy, but that didn't made it any less enjoyable. Kallen and Y/N hugged each other, making out with their loved one after so many years of being apart from each other.

Memories of all the times they've spent with each other came to their heads. The first time they met, all the battles they fought and lastly, the time Y/N abandoned Kallen.

He would never do that again.

As if she could leave at any moment, Y/N lifted her and sat her on his desk, all the notepads and reports there falling to the ground. Kallen hugged him extremely tight, pussing him more into her. She didn't want him to leave.

Eventually, both stopped for a moment to breath some air. They never broke eye contact however.

Kallen:"I love you... I love you..."

Y/N:"I love you too."

Kallen:"Stop right there, perverted scum! You violated the law! Sexual content will be your punishment if you dare to continue or, you can pay a few and proceed to the next bold text. It's your call."

Anxious to keep going, Kallen grabbed his nape and brought him for a kiss. It was a way more aggresive kiss than before, but Y/N didn't mind it, for he wants this too.

While he was at it, Kallen took off his hat, putting it besides her. He threw his jacket to the ground, now only a black shirt on him. Kallen's hand went through the shirt, feeling his abs.

Y/N desesperately wanted to see her body too. He also threw her black jacket and took off the strings of her short dress, leaving Kallen in her underwear and her white stockings.
