"She's so cute!" Pluto squeaked. Reaching out with a tentative paw, he lightly tapped the kitten. Rolling over onto her back, the tiny thing flailed her paws in the air. The small planet kitten giggled and tapped her again. She repeated the action. Keeping a close eye on the pair, Vega smiled softly before stealing a glance over at the Sun and Earth, who were in the middle of a deep conversation.

"First things first, are you okay?" the Sun asked quietly. He and Earth were sitting at the kitchen table in adjacent chairs. Nodding her head slowly, the terrestrial planet kitten answered in a soft voice, "I'm okay. The hospital took care of it." Biting his lip, the Sun dared to ask, "What was wrong? Which hospital did you go to? Why... why didn't you say anything to us? You only left a card."

"I know, and I'm sorry about that. I didn't want you all to worry about it. I thought I'd be back in a day or two," Earth explained. She snorted and remarked, "Guess they kept me longer. I... I went to the hospital in the Andromeda Galaxy." The Sun was shocked. The Andromeda Galaxy? That was the next galaxy over and yet it was so far away! The fastest transportation to another galaxy was a hyperdrive ferry and even that took a day of travel. The star cat calmly repeated his earlier question, "What was wrong?"

"Um, nothing serious thankfully," Earth meowed. Her paws shuffled nervously as she continued talking, "I must've caught something from... from the fleas. And I had a rash on my back." Her tail twitching sporadically, she murmured, "The doctors... they had me under a lot of observation."

"At least you're home now. But I have one more question," the Sun rumbled in a soft voice. Flicking his tufted ear towards the tiny kitten, he asked, "Where did you find the moon kitten?" The white splotches on Earth's body seemed to begin spinning faster, or was that just the Sun's imagination? Glancing over at the moon kitten, Earth replied, "I... I found her on my way to the hospital. She was all alone, no dad. No... no mom. Just alone on the side of the road." Casting her gaze downwards, she whispered, "I couldn't leave her."

"So you took her to the hospital," the Sun guessed. Raising one eyebrow, he went on, "Then the hospital let you take her home?" Meeting her adoptive father's gaze, Earth answered, "I adopted her." Nodding his head in understanding, the Sun remained silent for a little bit as he and the terrestrial planet kitten watched the moon kitten. Finally he spoke again, "What's her name?"

"I call her Luna, though I think she also likes being called Moon or the Moon," Earth stated. There was a hint of pride in her voice. Looking back at her dad, she quietly asked, "Is it okay if she stays with us?" Giving his oldest daughter a big warm hug, the Sun declared, "Of course Luna can stay. She's a part of the family now."
