Chapter Five: The Seeds of War

Three months have passed since Esmeralda, Sky, and I formed team Fairy Dragons. Kinda odd and I didn't agree with it one bit, but went along with it anyway. Apparently Sky's magic is similar to what the first master, Mavis, used. Not illusion magic, but Fairy Magic. Her move set, however was more for an offensive-defensive based attack; unlike the First who created the three Great Fairy Magic's.

In that time, a number of things happened. Turns out that Natsu was following a lead on his dragon that seemingly disappeared. Of course rumors are either based on a truth or a lie, and luck didn't have it for Natsu as it turned out to be someone using the nickname that Lisanna gave him a few years ago: Salamander.

Ever since then, that's what towns, guilds, and people we've come across have called him. His poser turned out to be Bora of Prominence. Natsu quickly apprehended him after finding out that he was using his moniker and tarnishing Fairy Tail's name by faking to be in the guild. That very same day he came home with a blonde named Lucy. Nothing more, nothing less.

Erza returned and requested Natsu and Grey on a mission to stop the dark guild Eisenwald. They got possession of an artifact named Lullaby, a deadly flute that can kill anyone who listens to it. I was in Clover attending the annual Guild Master meeting as an advisor with Makarov, so I wasn't able to join.

The true goal of Eisenwald was to have someone play the flute at Clover and kill all the guild masters and advisors. They almost succeeded in their mission too, if the man that arrived hadn't ran into Makarov peeking at a Sorcerer's Weekly magazine; specifically Mira's page.

The man nearly played the flute at the Master's request, only, he fell on his knees, dropping the flute as well.

The peace didn't last for long. The flute turned into a large wooden creature out of pure rage of not being played. Turned out, "Lullaby" wasn't just a song. It was a demon from the book of Zeref.

Thankfully, Erza, Grey, and Natsu were able to take out the threat before it caused too much trouble, the only damage being done is the destroyed building that the guild masters held their meetings in. No one really got injured except for the Eisenwald members who were quickly apprehended by the Rune Knights.

Things settled down for a while. Natsu and Lucy started going on a few jobs, and I took a couple solo S-Class quests while Sky still got into the hang of things. Her and Esmeralda formed up when we didn't go on a group mission.

It wasn't until Natsu decided to get smart and sneak in the guildhall during the middle of the night, when no one is inside. He stole an S-Class mission that was a purification quest. The requester wouldn't release anymore details until the the mages who accepted the quest arrived.

He convinced Lucy to join him, and Gray went as well. Makarov sent me and Erza to retrieve the mages and bring them back for punishment. Gray and Natsu would be getting THAT while Happy would just be forbidden to eat any of the guild's or his own fish for about a week. Lucy would get off early since she didn't know that the job was for a higher class than she was ranked.

It didn't really help that the location was on Galuna Island, an island that seems to have its own mind as anyone who tries to get near would either get hit with a tidal wave or just wouldn't return. Erza convinced some pirates to take us there no matter what, otherwise she would throw them overboard and take the boat for herself. They willingly agreed, and we got there with no problems surprisingly.

As soon as we touched land, Erza said she would check the village while I search through the temple. She hadn't noticed it yet, but aside from the group, I felt more mages as well as a large spell being casted onto the island. Going to the temple only confirmed my suspicions.

Inside was no deal. A throne of sorts was made while the walls were supported by some pillars. But there was a giant hole in the ground that looked like it didn't belong there. Going down, I felt another large power of magic as well as a spell casted to seal something of sorts.

Once at the bottom, I saw the Immortal Etherious Demon Deliora. The demon was known by the guild through Gray, his story of his his mentor used a forbidden spell that might as well killed her if certain measures were not met. I immediately cast a retrieving spell, melting Iced Shell, but restoring the body of the Mage who once taught Gray.

Obviously she was unconscious as her magic power had been draining the life force of the demon Deliora. She was naked as well since the magic spell she casted destroyed her clothing. I gave her my cloak the save her the embarrassment for when she awoke.

Since the spell retrieved the caster of the original, the magic power was also returned as well. Pretty much goes without saying that Deliora had a huge ass power boost than what it should've. Natsu and I teamed up and we took it down together. Turns out, only way to kill the demon that continuously heals itself, is to destroy either the heart or source that keeps it alive.

Long part over. Now to speed this up because I'm almost a thousand words in and I've been monologuing in my head the whole time.

Erza threw a spear at the sky, it shattered to pieces, villagers were demons the whole time, we turned down the reward minus the key for Lucy, and went home.

It is now that we return to our regularly scheduled programming of shit hitting the fan while we're gone.

Everyone in Magnolia was running their mouth in whispers. "Fairy Tail mages." "The probably don't know yet, huh?" And a bunch of hooblah that's all indistinct. But there was one at the mention of Ur: "Woah! She's hot! And look at that ASS!" He was frozen as well as slammed down by a blue-flamed fist.

We finally arrive to the guild, which has iron pillars lodged inside of it from all directions. There's only two people I know that can do this and one is long since dead.

Gajeel Redfox of Phantom Lord came to town. And it looks like Jose was trying to stir up trouble.

Obviously, Natsu and Gray were livid that someone had the balls to do this to our home. Erza, of course, calmed them down with a simple stare and we go downstairs to the cellar.

We quickly went downstairs to the bunker where the rest of the members were located. You could see everyone either livid, or not at all caring so long as there was booze.

Makarov being one of these drinkers, was laughing at the situation, saying how Phantom Lord is just filled with a bunch of pussies if they would attack an empty guildhall. He then went on scolding Natsu and Gray for wanting to retaliate, telling them that the guild isn't just a hall, it's the people that make it a home. But they introduced Ur, she of course slammed her fist into our master's face after his hand somehow found its way to her heart-shaped derrière. I had to admit, she had a nice backside but you won't hear me say it aloud.

Skip a few hours ahead by a random party that quite literally sprang out of nowhere, and you have everyone in at least groups of three. Team Natsu all stayed at Lucy's apartment, Shadow Gear went out to find a new book for Levy, Elfman and Mira just stayed at their house, and Esmeralda, Sky, Miranda, and I all stayed at Sky's new apartment, via invite. We didn't barge in without permission like another team did. Of course while the girls did their talking inside, I sat outside on the balcony whilst polishing my sword while thinking about everything's that happened.

In the past few years, more things have happened than I can count. I lost my younger sister, gained a new partner, and the worst of it all,

I lost a lover. Many may not know this, but I did find someone that was what I thought my soulmate. But that's done and happened after... that day... I shook my head out of those thoughts, refocusing back onto the Dragon Arms in my hand.

After the girls were done talking, I picked up my things and grabbed a couple cherries and an apple. I could see that Esmeralda fell asleep in the guest bedroom and that Miranda is in there with her. I couldn't find Sky anywhere so I grabbed some blankets and a throw pillow and laid them on a couch. I was fixing to sit down, but Sky came out of the steaming bathroom. She wore nothing but a towel, and I had to look away to cover my blush.

Sky's POV
Fifteen minutes prior

Chaos went outside and closed the balcony door behind him. He said that he didn't really want to hear us talk about whatever it is that women do in their free time or impose on what could be our private conversation between us girls of the team. I feel kinda bad for him, being the only male on our team.

As I watched him sit down on the chair outside and overlook the city of Magnolia, Esmeralda looked at me knowingly with a sly smirk on her face.

"Oh my Mavis. You like Chaos!" I quickly grabbed her face and covered her mouth with my hand, not wanting her to be too loud or say anything else embarrassing.

"Keep your voice down! Do you want him to leave?" I looked back outside to see if he heard us, but it looks like he was still polishing his sword, not at all listening to our convo. Just like he said he would. But he seemed to be having a good time so I didn't really mind.

"Sheesh. Could you be any louder?" I took my hands away from her mouth. "Yes, okay. I do find him more attractive than the rest of the males in our guildhall. But that does not mean I want everyone finding out! Besides, even if something were to happen between us, what if something bad were to happen? You know damn well that he would rather leave the team than have me removed. Hell, he may just go solo like he did before he found me!" I got scared all of a sudden. "I do want something to happen, but I'm scared of ruining the friendship and closeness we have. I don't want to lose him as a friend. So for now, until I see potential sign that he may feel the same way, I'll stand by."

But I knew Esmeralda saw something more, but it was as if she was having trouble saying it.

"You know, if you and him were to get together, it wouldn't be his first time in a relationship."

I was shocked. Really? Chaos Dranigon was in a relationship? Wait, but wouldn't he have kept it on the down low? Then how did Esmeralda know? Unless... "Wait, was it you that he was with?"

Her face got all flustered and red. "What?! Oh gods no! I would never! Chaos and I are like nearly twins! No." The female Slayer took a breath before continuing. "Chaos told me about her, and she and I met a couple times. She was a really nice girl, and I saw a future for them. She even worked in that one division that was never really put to use: the Rifle Squadron. But..." Her sentence trailed off as her face fell.

"But?"

"She was stationed into Yorkshire to prevent a dark guild that started to get more powerful. Once he heard about the upcoming battle, he went there straight away with a couple weapons I never recognized before and a bow. Did you know that the guy is a better shot than Bisca? He shot an orange from about five hundred yard away with a fucking bow! However, when he arrived, the whole town was on fire. Destruction and debris everywhere. And when he got to her station, making sure if she was alright, he saw something no one should have to see, much less for a second time in their life." She paused once more. "He found her body, mutilated and broken. She was barely clinging to life, waiting for him to get there. And her final words to him, were more heartbreaking than anything. "Don't feel bad, for being unable to reach me in time. No one knew that a dark guild was nearby or even attacked until it was too late. I love you." She died in his arms, and the sound of a wailing dragon was heard from three towns over."

Suddenly, I felt terrible for even asking. "What happened after?"

"After he received the whereabouts of the dark guild, well lets just say that the crater near Clover town was once a building full of murderers."

"He killed them?" "Yes, Sky. But that's only between you, Miranda, and me. If Master were to ever find out, he would remove him from the guild. I don't see why he doesn't accept killing, but for some reason he doesn't like it one bit. It's why he kicked out his own son. Hell, Fairy Tail was in a fucking war for crying out loud. All of us Slayers agree that if someone were to truly cause fatal injuries to one of our own or to our own lovers, then there would be no mercy for them. It's Dragon's Law."

I just sat there, speechless. The fact that Chaos went that far just for someone he loved, it was in a way, beautiful, but painful to even grasp onto that concept.

"He came home that day, with eyes looking dull, and scales beginning to grow on his arms. One of the problems of being a Lost Dragon Slayer, not just a regular slayer, is that if he uses his magic too much for violence and causing harm, it will then start to turn the user into a dragon. Hell, we agreed not to talk about it, but he still has those scales on his arms. That's why they're always wrapped up. And after that day, he truly accepted the name Chaos, because he felt that wherever he went, destruction and discord were surely to follow behind. Not only that, but he's mentioned to me many times about leaving the guild and living life as an independent mage. No ties to hold him back here. But since you joined, he hasn't mentioned it all that much.

"It's why I will always be there for him at his side and following his command. As long as he lives, I will make sure that he will always have Natsu or I to rely on. We're his younger siblings. Pseudo, yes, but some things run deeper in blood. And Sky?" She looked me straight in the eyes, and what I saw weren't the eyes of the happy-go-lucky friend I knew. It was the eyes of a Dragon protecting its kin. "If you are serious about being in a relationship with him, then you will have to do two things. One, you will have to wait for him to feel something. I don't know if you noticed or not, but Chaos isn't really all in tune with his emotions anymore. He barely shows his smirk every now and then because of it. The two emotions that will drive him further than anything else, though, are his rage, and his love. And I've seen first hand what happens whenever his rage is summoned too far. The second thing is, that if you two do fall into a relationship, then its for the long run. If you have any doubts about a future with him now, then be sure of it otherwise don't start it at all." She got up and went to her room.

"Another thing, Sky. If you two do make it for the long run-" she turned around and looked at me again; eyes closed shut. "-then make sure you two have wonderful kids, okay!" The most mischievous grin was on her face as she clasped her hands. I slap my face at her antics and she walks into the guest room, closing the door behind her. Looking outside, Chaos and his raccoon friend were overlooking the bustling city of Magnolia, almost ensuring its safety. I smiled and went into the bathroom, taking a nice hot shower to relieve myself from the day's events. I also thought about what Esmeralda told me about the last time Chaos was enraged. I realized that it must've been the Dragon Force that I've heard so much of. However, I must try my best to not ruin what we have, if I really want anything to happen in the future. My thoughts then started to go to other areas of which were more on the, pleasant side of things.

'I can't be thinking that! He's my teammate! But, I wonder, if he really has that much stamina normally, then I wonder how long he'll last throughout the nig-' I was cutoff as I heard the balcony door open and close; notifying me that either Chaos is back inside, or Esmeralda went out to talk to him. But it was most likely the former option. I quickly finish up cleaning myself off and turned off the shower. Grabbing a towel and wrapping it around myself, I quickly realized that I left my clothes in the bedroom and I felt my face flare up. 'I just hope that he's already laying down.'

Sadly that was not the case.

Chaos' POV
Present time

I had to look away so Sky couldn't see the slight blush on my face, but when I sneaked a peek, I realized that the towel left almost little to the imagination. It hugged her curves nicely, but she was clearly uncomfortable. So I faked a compression real quick.

"Where are your clothes?"

"Oh! Um, well y-you see I-uh..." Her confidence quickly died down at something as she lost her composure completely failed her.

"Don't worry." I stood up and went into where I assumed her room was. I was correct and I grabbed her a pair of clothes and handed them to her. "Here. Go back into the bathroom and change. I'll wait for you to get out and then I will take my turn." I turned around and walked back to the couch; finishing making the bed I had been making earlier. I heard the door close and I stood back up. Walking over to the table, I'm glad she left a pen out for some bills that she had been paying. I grabbed it and a napkin and started to scribble some words down on it. Once finished, I opened the balcony door and closed it behind me; jumping down to the ground and chasing after the malicious intent I had smelt from earlier.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be there in time as the deed has already been done. And the blood was hidden from even the nose of a Lost Slayer.

-End Scene-

Hey there everyone!

So, I havent updated in awhile, and I understand that many of you aren't all too happy with me because of that.

Obviously I've felt myself to start becoming detached from this story specifically. My other stories featuring Chaos are ones I don't necessarily have a problem with because most of them aren't really having him overpowered and stuff. My Destiny ine has him literally starting from scratch in a universe where he won't be able to really rely on his magic as he will have to actually resort to using weapons. My RWBY one has him raised nasically alone almost to the point where he kinda has to become strong in order to survive. Then there's my One-Shot stories where so far he only has been the main character in one and it was a mental health story. The problems in that story I will not discuss as they are a serious matter; if you wish to know more about it, then you will have to read that chapter.

But other than that, the problem with this story specifically is that I kinda can't stand that I've already thrown him in there stronger than Laxus. I wanna rewrite, but I realized that I've already put so much effort into this book that I'm just going to have to take a different road than originally thought. But I will wait until maybe before the Oracion Seis arc to actually show where this story will diverge from the rest.

Anyways, huge shout out to @Crystal_meloetta12 for basically granting me access over Sky, Esmeralda, and Miranda. I wanted to do more as to actually show what type of Fairy magic that Sky holds, but for now, I'm just going off of whatever I can pull out of my head at this point for her as I want everyone to actually see that there will be more to this story than just a different team being more famous than the rest. There's also a story that she once wrote that I was planning to pick up and do a small switch up on. She and I basically already planned out about a year ago how she could write it, but she told me that she's hit an insane case of writer's block and that she will probably never use Wattpad, or write these stories again.

That's enough about that. Now, as to the reason why I don't update as often as I used to (those who were with me ever since my Kinon story would remember that I would update the shit out of that story every Tuesday). I honestly can't say that I've had writer's block. I've multiple ideas about every one of my stories and which direction I would take them. It's just that honestly?

College is a lot different than I thought it would be like.

At first, I thought that when I moved out, I would be free from the stress that the town I resided in and would be my own person, but actually, it isn't what I thought it would be at all. When my roommate and I moved into our apartment, she and I both realized that it would be harder to balance our hobbies with our school life as we now had to stack in work on top of it. Every chance I would get, I would write a little bit down in my stories from the little notes she would leave.

No everyone. We aren't dating. Just because my girlfriend and I decided to stay friends, doesn't mean that I would date the person that I'm living with. It's harder on both of us as whenever we do go on dates with other people and they found out that she and/or I am sharing an apartment with someone of the opposite gender, they will drop us and leave us be. We haven't given up yet, but we will find someone for each other eventually; even if it means we both'll be alone for awhile. But I can say for both of our cases that we just have different preferences to when it comes to roommates and soulmates, and we don't collide in the latter option.

But back to the story elements. As some, if not most, may know, this story has some replication to the story The Dragon and the Mermaids and/or The Rise of a Dragon both written by Plasnix112 on FanFiction.net. These replications being Chaos' last name, his sword, the name of his dragon parent, the type of Dragon Slayer he is, and even his magic. I'm not going to be replicating that second story word-for-word, but I am going to be using small elements from it every now and then. I'm also not going to make Chaos seem super overpowered, but the reason he is somewhat on par if not higher than Laxus, was because of his magic, his training with the sword, Martial Arts training, and the more experience that comes with age. I decided to not place him on the same team as Natsu because then I feel like I'd be following the main storyline more than I'm naturally comfortable with. I will be implementing a new story line, new characters, and new locations than those given to us by what Mashima was given. My first chapter where Chaos got his eye cut out was proof of that, slightly.

I'm not giving up on this story yet, but like I said, don't expect frequent updates.

Anyways, I'll leave it at that. Like I said, I won't entirely leave this book, just going to have to take it down a different road than I originally thought. I'll see you guys in the next update.
