Lloyd's P.O.V.:

I woke up in a panic. I thought she was coming for me again, but it was all a nightmare. I looked at the air mattress and Kira was no longer there. I was about to get up, but then someone knocked on the door.

"Lloyd?" I heard Kira's voice.

"One second." I yelled as I made myself decent. "Come in."

She quietly came into my room carrying a tray with a plate of pancakes and a cup of healing tea on it.

"Good morning." Kira said. "How are you feeling?"

"Better." I answered as she set the tray on my lap. "Did you make breakfast?"

"Zane made pancakes for everyone about an hour ago, so I thought I would bring you some so you could sleep in a little."

"Zane's pancakes are the best! Thank you." I started eating.

"Remember to drink your tea too." Kira reminded me. "It'll help your condition."

"I will, thanks."

"Oh one more thing, your mother heard about the incident yesterday. She really wanted to see you, so she's coming by today."

"That's fine." I said.

It had been a long time since I saw my mom. I was happy she was coming, but I didn't want her to see me like this. I finished my pancakes and tea and then I tried to get out of bed, but Kira stopped me.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

"I need to freshen up a bit before my mom gets here." I told her. "I don't want her to see what a mess I've been."

"Oh of course." Kira said. "Do you need me to help you walk to the bathroom?"

"No thanks, I'll be fine." I said.

She carefully helped me get up and I put on my robe. Despite my refusal she walked with me to the closest bathroom down the hall and she waited outside the door for me.

I brushed my teeth, combed my hair and splashed some water on my face. As I looked at myself in the mirror, my reflection seemed normal at first, but the longer I looked at it, the stranger it got.

My green eyes turned red, my hair was now black and shaggy, I had fangs instead of teeth, I didn't have two arms, but four and I grew wings just like hers. I backed away from the mirror, but the reflection got closer. It had blood dripping from it's mouth, and yet he was smiling.

"This is what you will become Lloyd." My reflection said. "This is your future. The inevitable future!"

"No! NOOO! Get out of my head! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!"

I felt the bite mark on my neck start hurting like crazy. I backed into the door and slid to the ground. I held my head and screamed.

"Lloyd?" Kira yelled from outside. "Are you alright?"

As usual, her voice snapped me out of it. I looked back in the mirror and it looked like I was back to normal self. I sighed with relief and picked myself up off the floor. It was a bit difficult because of my recent injuries, but I managed.

I opened the door and let Kira in. She saw the look of misery and fear on my face before I could hide it. On instinct she gently wrapped her arms around me, being careful of my wounds.

"It's all over now." She calmly whispered in my ear. "It was all in your head."

"But what if it's not?" I frowned. "What if I end up turning into that monster? What if I end up hurting you or the others?"

"You're not a monster Lloyd." She looked me in the eyes. "You could never hurt me."

I sighed and held my head. Kira supported me and gave me a reassuring smile and for her sake I returned it.

"Thanks Kira." I said.

"Come on, let's get you to the living room. The others wanted to talk to you about the creature you saw."

"Ok."

She walked with me to the living room and set next to me on the couch. All my friends were sitting around us.

"If you don't mind Lloyd, I would like to run a few tests to make sure you have fully recovered." Zane said.

"Alright." I agreed. Maybe Zane's tests would help me figure things out.

He stood up and scanned me with his scanner. He did an X-ray to see how I was recovering.

"Physically you seem to be recovering well, but I would still give it a few more days before you get back to ninja duty." Zane said. "Have you had anymore hallucinations?"

"They're not hallucinations! They're warnings." I told them.

"Trying to warn you about what exactly?" Kai raised an eyebrow.

"Well I... I don't know but it doesn't sound good." I said.

"I think he's just being paranoid." Cole crossed his arms.

"No, you guys have to believe me. I'm telling the truth." I yelled.

"I believe you Lloyd." Kira said.

"You do?" I questioned.

"I do. You wouldn't tell a lie, especially about something like this. I believe that you believe it, but you need to understand that
it's all in your head." She frowned.

"But it isn't! It's..."

"Lloyd!"

All of a sudden I was trapped in a hug. I looked up to my mother's relieved face. I wanted to be happy that she was here with me, but all I felt was pain all throughout my body.

"Mom stop please!" I said as politely as I could.

"Oh sorry sweetie, I'm just so glad you're alive." She smiled and released her grip. "Are you feeling ok?"

"I'm still recovering but thanks to Kira I'm doing a lot better." I smiled at her.

Kira and my mother hadn't met more than once or twice, but the times that they did, they got along great. Kira the daughter of my mother's old friend, Dr. David Yost, and even though her parents were gone now, my mom still knew all kinds of stories about him when they were growing up together.

"Thank you for saving him Kira." My mother smiled at her. "It's nice to have people looking out for him."

"Anytime." Kira smiled.

I took a seat on the couch and Kira and my mother set down with me. Nya walked in with a load of clothes.

"It took a few loads, but I finally got all of the stains out of your gi." Nya handed me my freshly clean suit.

"Wow, it's as good as new." I smiled. "Great job Nya."

"Hey wait." Zane looked at the back of my suit.

He pulled something off the back of it and showed it to everyone. It was a black feather.

"Hey, that looks like one of the feathers that the creature had." I pointed to it.

"Then this is just what I need to get you some answers." Zane said.

"Ok Zane, just be careful. That thing is already after Kira and I don't want it coming after you too." I told him.

"Ok. Pixal and I will analyze the feather and we should have results for you by Saturday."

"Thanks Zane." I nodded.

Zane and Pixal went into the lab with the feather. My mother looked at me and noticed how scared I was.

"Lloyd, are you ok?" She asked.

"Yeah Mom, I'm ok. I just hope Zane and Pixal can figure out who she is."

"All that matters is that you're ok." Kira smiled.

"Yeah, I guess."

I sighed and looked out the window. Whoever she was, she was still out there and she wasn't gonna stop until she found me. I hope I get answers before it's too late.
