B A C K G R O U N D

THE EVENING the storm had began had started out as normal as it could get for the palace. The family had requested everyone to come to join them at dinner, and everyone, no matter how hesitant, had.

BUT THE family was eerily quiet. At least until Alec had gone to whisper something Kason, and the older twin proceeded to rise from his chair and shout at Alec, telling him that he needed to "stop talking about it".

BEFORE ANYONE could even react, thunder was sounding outside the palace, echoing through the room with its almost eerie volume. A maid had rushed over to pull one of the curtains aside, revealing that the sky had gone entirely red above them.

SOON, WITHOUT explanation, the family was being rushed through the room, Kason turning back to yell more at Alec and Alec actually shouting back at him. Guards had even had to hold Carmen down from going at her brother. The king and queen had been gone by this point, though, and within a few moments, the royal siblings were being dragged from the room.

THE SELECTED and foreign royals had been prohibited from following them to their rooms, the maids and guards explaining that they could see the family once the storm had passed. Each maid and guard was quivering with fear, however, no one quite used to being forced to keep the secret from so many people.

OVER THE course of the week, the guests of the palace either ended up running in to the royal family, or seeking them out, wanting answers.

• for now, the cause of it will be kept a secret :)

• the crimson storm lasts an entire week, like the purple moon, except instead of a purple moon, it rains crimson water and has crimson lightning

• it makes the royal family act completely different

• the royal family is not allowed around each other at this time or anyone else. but, if they were to ask for someone to come to them, the maids and guards can't deny their request (since they're royals and everything)

• none of the royals will even remember anything that happens during the crimson storm

A/N: This task is optional, but also may be a bit confusing, so here's some additional information that may help. Again, I'm sorry if this seems poorly planned.

• maids and guards tend to them the entire time, the guards there in case any of them decide to have an outburst and need to be "tamed"

• reed brooks has sent a group of rebels to stay around the vicinity of the palace and they are ordered to go into the palace if anything weird happens [the crimson storm qualifies as weird] and they will be sent to spy on the royal family

PRIVATE CHAINS

much like the purple moon, there will be private chains of exchanges between the royals, selected and other characters throughout the week of the crimson storm. to clarify, once again, the royal family is confined to their rooms during this week with maids and guards tending to them. the other characters [foreign royals + selected] will either

REBEL MAIN CHAIN

Reed Brooks, the leader of the rebels, sent a group to spy on the family. This chain is after they have collected information and are meeting up. Since Reed did not join them, it will be led by Astrid Cane. if guards and/or maids want to be involved, ask me what you should do, I have some ideas :)
