Death is extremely calm and calculating. Everything he does, everything he says, has a reason behind it. Most of the time, nobody can figure out the reasons until he wants them to.

When needed, Death can be more kind and gentle than anyone else on the planet. He's been a replacement father figure to a handful of children now, and honestly he's done a pretty dãmn good job at it.

Death wouldn't describe himself as cruel. Any pain he causes, physical or otherwise, is deemed necessary for either growth or punishment. But, he isn't afraid to go as far as he has to. He'll burn people alive without a second thought just as quickly as he'll make an ice cream sundae for the children he cares for.
