Author's Notes: I would like your opinion on this alternate darker backstory for Sapphire and Ruby, it's strange not having many comments on this book it makes me question your feelings on this book and my writing, so if you read this, please leave a comment. The song of the day today is "Jet Airplane" by The Steve Miller Band, the song carries with it a strange sense of tranquility as it tells of a wandering young man settling down in a northeastern American town.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Sapphire's hand was so much colder than Ruby's and causes her to shiver violently, Ruby stood confused, eyes trained on Sapphire whose face sat as still as it had ever been, what Ruby felt in the next few seconds she couldn't possibly explain there were brief flashes of Ruby and Sapphire sitting contented on top of a huge hill looking into the night sky to observe the stars, the stars appeared different from those on Relis, confusing the young Ruby, the flashes soon stopped and left Ruby in a cold sweat, Ruby was alarmed as she let go of Sapphire's hand noticing Sapphire's once strong grasp go limp "Sapphire?!" Ruby screamed as panic set in, Ruby's hand found it's way to Sapphire's head, only to find it hot and covered in sweat, Ruby's panicked face turned more grim as Sapphire started panting again "Ruby..." Sapphire groaned out getting the attention of Ruby "It's going to be okay!" Ruby said in a panicked voice sounding like she was trying to reassure herself, she repeated this until Sapphire screamed out "Ruby!" with what little strength she had left, Ruby was pulled out of her growing insanity by this and affixed her eyes back onto the ill gem in front of her "Please...trust her." Sapphire pleaded before losing consciousness.

Rose's POV

My thoughts were interrupted as the ill gem Sapphire called out to Ruby, my eyes followed Ruby as she bolted to Sapphire's side what followed was Ruby asking "Sapphire, what's wrong?" her voice laced in worry, "It was nice to see someone care for another whether it be enemy or friend, war has proved most gems are selfish beings." Rose thought as a scene played out again in her head, a loud crunching was heard as the foot of a Yellow Diamond Sargeant fell on top of one of his own men's gem, his loud bellowing voice yelled out "We must continue, we cannot stop this assualt to tend to a single man!"
