[Time passes. The boy helps Yuma gather Number cards. He still visits Rio every day. However, lately, some strange things have been happening to him. He sits in the hospital talking to Rio]

Boy: I don't know what it is but it's like someone is messing with me.

Rio: It seems so. It could probably be someone trying to get your attention.

Boy: Well there are better ways to do that. Besides, who would want to get my attention?

Rio: I agree on the first part. On the second part, I bet many people want to gain your attention.

Boy: Well, that's strange.

[The boy leaves the hospital. Yuma runs over to him who is followed by a bunch of cats]

Boy: What's wrong, Yuma?

Yuma: I need your help! Tori is missing! Here. Read this note.

Boy: (Reads) We have your friend, Tori. Invite your friend then follow us to get her back.

Yuma: What do we do?

Boy: Simple. We follow the cats.

[The two follow the cats until they reach a giant cat mansion]

Boy: This is very creepy.

Yuma: Cats everywhere.

Cathy: Thank you for coming.

Yuma: Who are you?

Boy: Cathy Katherine. She's in our class.

Yuma: How do you know that?

Boy: I pay attention.

Yuma: Whatever? What have you done with Tori?

Cathy: You want her back? Beat me in a duel!

Yuma: Alright then.

Cathy: I actually wasn't talking to you! I was talking to him.

Boy: Why am I dueling you?

Cathy: I have my own agenda but for now let's duel!

Cathy: Don't tell me that's the best you can do! My claws are sharp and I have all nine lives! Get ready! I draw. I activate the spell: Inviting Cat! This lets me add a Stray Cat to my hand. That's not all. Next, I activate the continuous spell: Cat Meeting! Here, kitty-kitty! First, I summon Stray Cat in ATK Mode!

Stray Cat: Level 1- 100 ATK/ 300 DEF

Cathy: When I summon a Cat monster, Cat Meeting activates. Allowing me to summon another stray. No kitty likes to be alone! Now I activate the spell: One for One! By discarding a monster, I can summon another Stray Cat!

Yuma: She's got three Level 1 monsters! She's busting out her number card!

Cathy: I overlay my three Level 1 Stray Cats! With these three monsters I build the Overlay Network! I XYZ Summon Twin-Tail Cat Lady! Careful! She's a little testy!

Twin-Tail Cat Lady: Rank 1- 1000 ATK/ 1000 DEF

Cathy: I now activate her special ability! Once per turn, by using one overlay unit, I can raise her ATK by 800!

Twin-Tail Cat Lady- 1000 ATK - - -> 1800 ATK

Cathy: Now I activate the field spell: Cat World! All CAT monsters gain ATK equal to their original ATK. That means she's gaining another 1000 ATK!

Twin-Tail Cat Lady- 1800 ATK - - -> 2800 ATK

Cathy: You really should've at least set a monster in DEF. Now you're wide open!

Boy: Before you attack, I activate my trap: Needlebug Nest! This sends the top 5 cards of my deck to the Graveyard!

Yuma: Why would you do that? You're trying to lose on purpose!

Cathy: Twin-Tail Cat Lady, attack directly!

Boy: I activate the trap The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil from my Graveyard.

Cathy/Yuma: From the Graveyard!

Boy: Since you declared a direct attack, I can special summon these cards as monsters from my Graveyard. I have three.

The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil: Level 4- 0 ATK/ 300 DEF

Cathy: You might have saved your LP, but you'll still lose a monster!

Boy: Hmph.

Cathy: I end my turn. Good luck trying to take down my monster!

Turn 3- Boy

Boy- 4000 LP/ Cathy- 4000 LP

Boy: Be careful what you ask for. My turn. Draw. I overlay my two Shadow Veils to build the Overlay Network! Cloaked in shadows and relentless in its objective, I call upon the most dangerous of dragons! I XYZ Summon! Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon!

Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon: Rank 4- 2500 ATK/ 2000 DEF

Boy: Now, I activate my dragon's special ability! By using both Overlay Units, I can cut your monster's ATK in half and then my monster gains that lost ATK! Treason Discharge!

Twin-Tail Cat Lady- 2800 ATK - - -> 1400 ATK

Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon- 2500 ATK - - -> 3900 ATK

Boy: It gets worse for you from here. I now activate my two trap cards!

Yuma: He's doing the same thing he did with Shark!

Boy: My first trap is Phantoms' Knight Wing! This raises the ATK of my monster by 500 ATK.

Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon- 3900 ATK - - -> 4400 ATK

Boy: That's not all. I now activate my second trap: Phantom Knights' Sword. This raises my monsters ATK by another 800 ATK!

Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon- 4400 ATK - - -> 5200 ATK

Cathy: Oh no!

Boy: Dark Rebellion, attack Twin-Tail Cat Lady! Mauling Mandible Charge!

Cathy: Ahh!

Cathy- 4000 LP - - -> 200 LP

Boy: Turn end.

Turn 4- Cathy

Boy- 4000 LP/ Cathy- 200 LP

Cathy: This duel isn't over yet! I place a card face down. I place a monster face down in DEF Mode. Now I activate the continuous spell: Spiritual Forest! Whenever any face up Beast type monster is attacked, it isn't destroyed! I end my turn.

Turn 5- Boy

Boy- 4000 LP/ Cathy- 200 LP

Boy: My turn. Draw. Don't think those spell cards will save you because I'm about to get rid of them! I activate the spell: Twin Twisters. By discarding a card from my hand, I can destroy both of those face downs!

Cathy: No! Doesn't matter. You only have one monster on the field! I will survive for another turn!

Boy: How naïve of you. I'll show you why you're wrong! I summon The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak!

The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak: Level 3- 800 ATK/ 1000 DEF

Boy: With this monster alone, I can end this duel and that's exactly what I'll do! Battle. Dark Rebellion, attack and destroy her face down! Mauling Mandible Charge!

Cathy: No! It's over!

Boy: Yes it is. Ancient Cloak, attack directly and end this duel!

Cathy: Ahh!

Cathy- 200 LP - - -> 0 LP

Winner: Boy

Yuma: I guess she doesn't have a number.

[The boy walks over to Cathy]

Boy: So did I past the test?

Cathy: With flying colors.

Boy: Now you have to tell me where Tori is.

Cathy: Okay.

[Cathy gives the location but find Tori playing with the cats]

Yuma: Tori, what are you doing?

Tori: The cats were so cute that I couldn't resist.

Boy: So I went through all this trouble of saving you for nothing?

Tori: You saved me?

Yuma: Yeah. He dueled a girl so he could get your location.

Boy: Whatever. You have a nice day.

[The boy walks away]

Tori: I'll make it up to you! And thank you!

[Tori places her hand over her heart]
