Nancy Bobofit goes on vacation with her family to California. At a shop she sees a tall thin boy. She walks up to him shyly and they start to talk. She finds out his name is Octavian. He went to a "school" a little bit away from the shop and would sneak out of the "school" to go see her. At the end of the week Nancy finds out he doesn't have a phone and is very upset. "Don't worry sweetheart" Octavian tells her. "We have another  form of communication where I come from. Iris messaging! A scummy boy called Percy Jackson introduced it to our school a few weeks ago!"
"Percy Jackson!?" Nancy stifled a scream. "You are friends with Percy Jackson?!" He shakes his head. "Oh gods no! I hate his guts!"  Octavian says.
"Ok. Why do you always say stuff like that."
"Like what?"
"'Gods' or you talk about Roman ways like it's still a thing!" Octavian explains to her that it still is a thing and she faints. She leaves California and goes back home. But she constantly Iris messages Octavian. He tells her about the war between the Greek and Roman camps.  As Octavian flies through the air his last words were:  "I love you Nancy Bobofit."
A few days later Nancy gets a Iris message from a girl. "I am Reyna. I found your address and name in Octavian's possessions. I'm am sorry to inform you that your boyfriend has passes away."  Nancy sobbed and slashed her hand through the rainbow. A few weeks later she committed suicide. Her soul was right next to Octavian's in the fields of asphodel
