Timeskip days later and after the Sentinels incident

Akari (POV)

After our run in with Eight Tails we took off to recover and recuperate in the nearest hideout.

Suigetsu- (currently recovering in a pod) You are so useless. Why did you leave behind my Executioner's Blade?

Karin- Shut up Suigetsu! You should just be thankful that we didn't leave you behind too!

Suigetsu- How dare you. You know you were knocked out just as much as I was Karin.

Karin- I ended up that way trying to protect all of you.

Jugo (kid)- All of us were protecting each other you guys. We're like fish in water. We cannot do without one another. So stop your quarreling.

Nakano (kid)- Seriously. It's getting old and annoying at this point.

Suigetsu-........Yeah alright fine. But anyway, are we really going to get the Tailed Beast's power now Sasuke?

Sasuke- Hmph who knows maybe. But actually we longer need to depend on such things.

Suigetsu- Why's that?

Akari *mind*- Probably having something having something to do with his new powers in his eyes. However with his new powers, I also had some sort of awakening back there. But this awakening is still unnerving. How in the hell was I able to turn Eight Tails to stone? Who was that figure I saw in my reflection in the water?

I'm brought out of my thoughts as Sasuke knocks over his glass of water and holds his face.

Akari- You ok? Something up with your eye?

Sasuke- It's nothing at all.

Karin- Guys, I sense a chakra signature outside. It seems we were followed.

Akari- I got this. You coming Sasuke?

Sasuke- Yeah.

We quickly head out to the chakra signature and get there just in time as a ninja of the Hidden Clouds was sending a messenger lizard. Sasuke kills the lizard with his sword and we corner our tailer.

CN- Please forgive me Lord Raikage. But it appears my tail was unsuccessful.

He's quickly killed and his corpse returns with us to the hideout.

Akari- It's time to move. This was only one but more will come most definitely.

Nakano- What are you gonna do with him?

Akari- We're leaving this corpse here as a message to our pursuers. Now, let's head out.

Timeskip to the next day

Kaito (POV)

Another day, another beautiful morning in the Hidden Leaf Village. And yet again just like any other morning, I wake up in Tayuya's death grip snuggle hold. After having to pry her off of me, I head outside with coffee in hand and take in the fresh air.

Kaito *mind*- Ah this is just nice. A nice cool breeze and not a cloud in the sky. Can't help but think about Itsuki though. I wonder what he's up to right about now.

A little ways outside the village perimeter

A squadron of Leaf ninja are stationed outside the Leaf Village perimeter. Two of the scouts of the squad have just returned with nothing to report. And just as one was about to leave to deliver the report to the Hokage, he comes face to face with man with orange hair and Rinnegan Eyes. That man is the co-leader of the Akatsuki. That man is Pain.

Pain (POV)

I stab the first leaf ninja through his chest and end his life. Two more attack at once and try to hold me down.

Pain- Push.

They go flying back crash into brush of the trees. I eye the last one who looks at his fallen comrades.

Pain- Pull.

The ninja gets lifted off his feet and slowly comes to me. Just like the first, I impale him and kill him. With all ninja knocked out or killed, I look up at the Village wall.

Pain- The time has come.

Kaito (POV)

I'm with Shikamaru, Sakura and Shiho in the intel building going over all of what we know currently about Pain.

Shikamaru- Lord Jiraiya sent back three sources of information.

Shiho- Yes mainly a ninja from the Hidden Rain, one of Pain's bodies, and this.

She presents the picture of Lord Fukasaku with the code on his back.

Shikamaru- Inoichi is in the intel division. They're working on the Hidden Rain ninja. I'm sure he'll get information out of him.

Sakura- And Shizune has made the autopsy on the remains of Pain's body her number one priority. I'm sure she'll learn something too.

Shiho- Plus we also have this message that we decoded thanks to the help of Naruto. "The real one's not among them". That's it.

Kaito- So now we gotta take all this info and figure out the mystery behind guy who calls himself Pain. The guy literally took out Lord Jiraiya and Master Gin. Two Sanin in one go.

Shikamaru- But let's take a look back at what the message said. The real one's not among them. Maybe he's telling us the six Pains are all Genjutsu. A jutsu casted by the female Akatsuki member who was there too. And she's the one who physically attacked Lord Jiraiya and Master Gin from the shadows.

Kaito- That's quite a reach there bud. According to Lord Fukasaku and Elder Lion Walter, both Jiraiya and Gin were stabbed with multiple physical weapons from all six Pains when they were killed.

Sakura- They supposedly took down three of them but they were resurrected. Does sound like some Genjutsu illusion.

Shikamaru- With the Akatsuki, common sense doesn't mean anything. There have been others who were immortal.

Shiho- Frankly in any case, what we should really do right now is keep hypothesizing until we get some kind of report from the others.

Sakura- Let's get closer to solving Pain's mystery. At least a little before Naruto and Itsuki returns.

Outside the Village

Pain (POV)

Konan, myself, the four others of the Six Paths of Pain amass outside the Village.

Pain- From here on we'll be splitting up into two teams. I'll go over it again. Diversion is Shuradõ, Chikushõdõ, and Gakidõ.
Names left to right

Pain- In the Hunt is Tendo, Ningendõ, and Jigokudõ.
Names order is Center, Right, Left

Pain- Konan you're with the hunt.

Konan- I know.

Pain- A spherical barrier that includes underground and aerial coverage surrounds the entire Hidden Leaf Village.

Konan- Anyone who enters without permission will be detected immediately by the Leaf.

Pain- As planned we will launch Chikushõdõ into the skies above the village. We will confuse the enemy by not giving them an accurate count. We will wait for Chikushõdõ's summoning.

Konan- I was told Itachi, Kisame, Fudo and Lady Kyoko were able to get inside rather easily.

Pain- Itachi and Kyoko were once apart of the Leaf's Anbu Blackops. They knew the jutsu code to get through the barrier. I have my own way of doing things.

???- That you do.

We all turn our heads to the direction of the voice. Out of the shadows of the trees comes one of the people I was just talking about. Kyoko.

Pain- What are you doing here? This is my mission.

Kyoko- Oh I know. I just came to watch the show. And.........to make sure you don't go overboard in dealing with my little brother.

Pain- How little faith you have in your co-leader.

Kyoko- Faith has nothing to do with this. You either get the job done or you die. I will not interfere in this. I am merely going to observe from a safe distance. But the second I deem you to going overboard and bring my brother into death's reach, I'll step in, destroy your six little bodies of yours, kill Konan, and then kill you. Are we clear Nagato?

Pain-.......Crystal. Now the world shall know what Pain is.
