'This stops now!'

Everybody froze. The voice that they had heard... It was so full of power, a commanding tone that struck fear into the Villagers' hearts. The boys on the other hand all looked at each other, the exact same thought accumulating in their minds - Vik and Lachlan. Turning to the treeline, they saw the unlikely duo storming towards the base camp - And by their practically unreadable expressions, the teenagers could deduct one thing only.
They.
Were.
Furious.

"You guys okay?"
"Who the - Vik?!"
"It's a long story. Is anybody hurt?"
Mitch looked away as the two approached, a look of concern flashing in his shorter friend's eyes as they neared their friends. Lachlan, albeit concerned about Vik's own health, quickly made his way towards Jerome and Preston while glaring at the still-shocked humans 'What happened here?'
'It's not good, they've... They got Choco, badly. He won't get up, we're tried but - What happened to you?'
'Humans happened, also my Dad, but eh. Are any of you guys hurt? Where's Pete?'
'That's just the thing, we don't know. Apparently he was fighting with a human to protect Choco, but I'm pretty sure he got out of there,' Preston spoke up, dark eyes flickering nervously as he saw a few brave Villagers beginning to close in around them, 'I haven't seen him since we were taken from the caves'

'What is going on - Vik?!' Josh screeched as he, Simon and Olajide pushed their way out of a different tent, the mocha-skinned teenager narrowing his eyes at his older companions as they approached. As they sped up towards him, he pulled out his dagger and held it by his side 'Don't come any closer. Don't hurt them, don't touch them - Don't even go near them' He muttered darkly, grabbing the weapon tightly as they stopped a few feet away. Simon was the first to notice Vik's knife, putting his hands up in a defensive stance and looking at the boy with uncertainty 'Vik, put that down, nobody needs to get hurt today-'
'Try telling that to all of the people you murdered. They might not have even had anything to do with the War - Why were you attacking them, anyway? They've never attacked any of us before'
'Actually, one did. A wolf hybrid - I believe you call him Rob - killed one of our hunters a few hours ago, with no valid reason whatsoever'

There was a loud scoff, and a patch of air beside the hybrids began to shimmer. It was followed by a series of violet flashes, before a figure began to fade into existence 'No valid reason, eh? Well, that's definitely not what I saw' The brunet shot pointedly, a cloudy glass ball in his hands. 'Oh yeah? And who are you to talk?'
'The name's Harvey Ayres, and I can show you exactly what happened' He threw the glass orb (Which was around the size of a small melon) at the ground, causing it's contents to burst into the air...

"Holy Notch, my head hurts..."
As the boy's senses began to return, he saw black. He opened his eyes - A lighter shade of black, but still pretty dark. He panicked for a few seconds, then common sense caused him to bring his hand to his face and pull the fabric away.
"That makes sense" The brunet laughed softly, then winced as he felt his ribs shift "Geez, what did I - Oh, no. No no, no no no-" He looked at his hands, and sure enough, drying blood was plastered across his arms. His hazel eyes widened in shock and panic as the memories flooded back, but what scared him the most wasn't what he did to that hunter.
It was what he did to Preston.
'What have I done... What if I seriously hurt him? What if I - Oh Notch, please don't tell me I killed him!' Ignoring the twinge in his stomach, the teenager sat up and looked around the room, looking for any signs of blood or... You get the point. The Canadian didn't see anything too out of place, but guilt was still pounding through his thoughts as he shook his head "I can't believe I did that to him, he's my best friend - Why would I just attack him like that?!"
'-on him, he might be awake'
'Just be careful, okay?'
'When am I not?' Upon hearing the voices, Rob flinched and ducked back under the covers as somebody pushed a tent flap open. He heard a muffled sigh through the thin blanket, and a comforting wave of heat washed over the hybrid as somebody sat on the edge of the bed 'Hey, Robbie... How're you feeling?'

Preston didn't get a response, but as he put a hand on the covers he could feel his older friend shaking. Pulling the covers back, the Texan found his brunet friend curled in a ball with his head tucked into his arms 'Gods Rob, what's wrong?' He spoke quietly, running a hand through the hybrid's tangled brown locks as he let out a soft whimper.
'I-I'm sorry...' The Canadian apologized, tears building up in his eyes as Preston shook his head slightly 'It's okay, Rob, it's okay. You didn't hurt me, don't worry about it'
''Could have done, though' Rob muttered, ears pinned against his head and tail curled around his tense body, but he loosened up slightly as his younger friend slowly rubbed behind his fluffy grey ears 'True, but ya didn't. For whatever reason, you stopped before you went too far - That's better than what most people do... Also, you were probably still angry about the whole "Logan Paul" thing'

Even just hearing the name set Robert on edge, and Preston mentally slapped himself before resting a hand on his friend's shoulder 'Sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned that. Anyway, how're you feeling now?'
'Not the greatest. What about the others, are they alright?'
'No, they're all left,' As the wolf hybrid rolled over to pull a face at the younger boy, he caught a glimpse as a purple glow emitting from outside 'Preston, what's that? The purple thing'
'Oh, Harvey's showing everyone what happened. The humans didn't believe that Logan deserved to die, so he's showing them what he saw'

Judging by the absolutely horrified expression on Rob's face, Preston deducted pretty quickly that that wasn't the correct response. The Canadian's hands began to shake again as he sat bolt upright, his breaths turning sharp and uneven 'Rob, Rob, calm down-'
'How can I "Calm down"? He's showing people how I killed somebody, Preston, and you're telling me to calm down?!' He snapped, tears finally spilling over as the Texan looked away in shame 'I'm sorry, I... Please, don't be mad'
Hearing the fear in the lava hybrid's voice, and sensing the panic radiating from his small form, caused the brunet to snap out of his angered state. His arms fell to his sides and he gave a small sigh of defeat, turning to Preston with an apologetic look in his eyes 'I didn't mean to... To get... I don't know anymore. I'm just-'

Preston hugged the wolf hybrid tightly, clinging to the thick fabric of his hoodie as Rob gratefully buried his face into the crook of his neck 'You were confused. You got scared, that's all, just try not to slam me into a wall or anything next time, alright? You can do this, I believe in you'
They stayed like that for a few moments, cherishing each other's company before a slight cough caused them to break apart. Sitting cross-legged on the opposite bed, a cheeky smirk on his face (Yet again, how could he smirk?!), was their young friend with the usual sparkle in his eyes 'Ch-Choco!'
'The one and only... Now, what the heck's going on?'
