Wandas POV:

Screams fill the room piercing through the air as I hold my hands against her temples. Both of us groan as my powers fight hers and I stop, stumbling backwards onto the ground, out of breath. I look up at Barnes with hopeful eyes only to then make contact with emerald green ones.

It didn't work. Again. 3 times.

I drop lazily to the floor, breathing fast, sweat dripping from my forehead.

"That's 3 times now, maybe we should stop" 

"No Bucky, I can do this." I say wearily as I look towards the girl in front of me looking drained of all energy. "If she could do it for you, I can do it for her."

Skylar pants heavily before saying "Wanda, you're holding back. You don't think you are but I can feel it. I need you to unlock a part of you that you think doesn't exist. Look deep within my mind, go to even the darkest of memories as well as the bright. I need to know who I am. I can't do that if I can't remember anything before my 'HYDRA days'... pft if that's any real anyway." 

"Okay, again." I state boldly whilst standing up and holding out my hand for her to take. She grabs it firmly before pulling herself up, nodding in confirmation.

"Blue wait." Barnes calls from the side. "Are you sure you want to try again? You're both already quite worn out and I don't want you to get hurt"

She looks at him with a sad smile before saying "how much more can I hurt than I already am James?". 

He takes a few steps back and she turns towards me.. "Again"

I close my eyes as she takes hold of both my hands squeezing them reassuringly. Slowly I raise my hands to her temples and try to delve into her mind with all my force.

Soon I feel a burning sensation travelling from my hands throughout my entire body. I open my eyes to see a red cloud surrounding us whilst specks of green try to take over. She's far stronger than me but all I need is a couple second gap in her subconscious defence. 

That's when I get an idea.

I quickly shut my eyes and focus on the very people she was made to forget. One by one they all appear in my mind, I know it translating to hers. I feel a strong tug in my chest, as if someone was squeezing my heart. I must be feeling what she is, the conflict within her is so fierce but that's when I see it. Suddenly I'm stood in a flower field. There's a little green glow in the distance which I walk towards. I'm compelled to touch it so I do.

HYDRA. The Avengers. Barnes. Stark Tower. Warehouse. One by one but faster than Pietro its almost as if I'm watching her lost memories. Except they weren't lost... just locked away.

I blink and I'm back in the flower field.

"Thank you Wanda" I turn to see Skylar smiling at me warmly with golden brown eyes I haven't seen myself before. Is this the real her? She looks so...soft and warm. She looks down and suddenly there's a body laying in the wild flowers between us. I take a step to get a closer look and its... Skylar?

Dressed in all black, Skylar... number two (?) wheezes slowly looking at the sky before looking at the Skylar stood before me. Her green orbs lock with brown ones and she chuckles lowly before closing her eyes and her wheezing slows until eventually, it stops.

"What just happened? Did you die?" I ask hurriedly at the Skylar stood before me. 

"Yes and no." She looks up. "She's dead but I'm not even though she's me, she's only a version of me. There was no way we could both exist in one mind. First I was slowly dying as she grew, but here we are. You saved me Wanda, I knew you could do it." She smiles warmly at me again and a crack appears in the sky. We both look up as more and more appear and before I can ask what's happening she speaks again.

"Looks like we're out of time here. Time to go back"

Bucky's POV

This is crazy.

This isn't what happened when Skylar saved me. I'm frozen in place as there's nothing I can do but watch. 

Not long after they tried their last attempt the two girls were lifted of the floor, clouds of green and red battling each other, circling at thunderous speeds.

It's been 10 minutes and no change until Wanda's eyes open and she gasps. Skye doing the same only seconds after then BANG.

Their forces collide and I dive behind a pillar as the two women are thrown to opposite sides of the room hitting the walls.

I don't know who run to first but Wanda was the closest so I sprint over and check if she's okay. She groans as I call out her name, I look towards Skye who is clearly unresponsive and passed out before looking back at Wanda.

"Wanda don't fall asleep. Stay with me!"

She rasps out her speech best she can, just about muffling it but I managed to catch it before she passed out.

"It worked."
