"Uh, where did Norman go?" Rooster asked, looking around. The other animals weren't much help. They hadn't seen where the young griffin cub had gone. Then Mel returned from his fright over the carnivorous squirrels in the story. "Hey dude," Buddy asked his raccoon friend, "Have you seen Norman anywhere?"

"Of course I've seen him! He just left the cage to go get the keys," Mel happily answered. His eyes widened in horror when he realized just what he said. The raccoon looked up at everyone, who all had horrified expressions written on their faces. Rubbing the back of his neck with one paw, Mel slowly turned to Buddy and told the otter, "I'm guessing that's not a good thing?"

"Norman! Hang on!" Rooster howled. The shadow dog raced over to the part of the cage that was closer to the post and keys. The rest of the Circus Gang were right on his tail, all concerned for their youngest member. Upon arriving though, they found themselves too late. Norman had already slipped through the bars and was making a beeline towards the post, disappearing behind the crates. "Don't do it kid!" Duke bellowed, "You have your whole life ahead of you!"

"Sweetpea, what? What is it?!" Daisy asked the macaw, who was squawking his head off. A moment later, she heard faint footsteps. The wolverine gasped and cried, "It's the wolves! They're coming!" That just frightened the Circus Gang even more as they all knew the danger Norman would be in if he was caught. He had been lucky the first time. There was no way of knowing how the second time would go.

"Oh my god, Norman! Norman, get back here!" Chloe yowled. The whole group was begging for the griffin cub to come back to the cage. Yet there was still no sign of him. Finding it odd as to how the caged animals were crying and pleading, the alpha wolf turned to the other three. With a swish of his tail, he led his comrades behind the crates. Unable to look away, Rooster barked, "Norman! Get out of there!"

"I'm right behind you guys," Norman's voice squeaked from behind the group, shocking them all. They turned around. Sure enough, there was Norman. The young griffin cub sat there neat and proper. He was safe and sound. And a bonus, he had a ring of keys laying before his taloned forepaws. Tilting his head to the side, the cub asked, "Did I do good?"

"You did brilliant! Norman, you did it! We're going to get out of here!" Rooster cried. The Circus Gang broke out into cheers. His tail wagging happily, Norman chirped, "We're going to escape!" Patting the cub on the head, the shadow dog announced, "Yes, we are all escaping tonight, while everyone is asleep. We should rest up, for once we get out of here, I want to put as much distance between us and this place as possible." Leaning towards Norman, Rooster asked, "You ready to see your dad kid?"

"Yeah!" Norman squeaked, "I can't wait to see him again!"
