"My dad?" Norman questioned. Sitting up, Rooster murmured, "Let's go see what they're talking about now." The two mythical creatures went over to where everyone else was gathered at the cage. Max and Snowball were on the other side of the bars, trying to catch their breath. Flopping on the floor, Snowball wheezed, "Man I'm out of shape..."

"Max, Snowball. What's going on? You said you had news?" Rooster questioned, moving his way towards the front of the crowd. Norman followed close behind, taking his place at the shadow dog's right hand side. Pointing at the young griffin cub, Max gasped between breaths, "Yes... we do... Norman... your father..."

"My father?! You have news about my father?!" Norman exclaimed, surprised. His little ears were perked up with interest. Everyone else seemed just as interested to hear the news. Pulling himself up to his feet, Snowball stated, "Your dad is looking for you kid." Gasps broke out as Norman cried, "He is?!"

"Oh yeah! He is coming all the way from that forest you two lived in," Max announced. The Circus Gang were delighted by this news. It was a good sign. However, Norman was quiet. Gazing down upon the griffin cub, Rooster murmured, "Norman?" Looking up at the shadow dog, the youngster mumbled, "That can't be him. He wouldn't leave the Forest unprotected."

"Snowball, do you remember what his name was?" Max asked, scratching behind his ear. Biting his lip, the white rabbit muttered, "Shoot, I don't know. Some Roman emperor's name. Claudius maybe?" Shaking his head, Max argued, "No, I think it was Julius." Overhearing their debate, Norman chimed in, "Tiberius?"

"Yes, that's him!" Snowball confirmed while Max added, "The griffin from the Forest!" His whole body shaking with excitement, Norman jumped up and down as he cried, "That's my dad! He's coming to get me!" Ruffling the feathers on the cub's head playfully, Rooster chuckled and remarked, "Of course he is kiddo."

"You know, I heard he fought a cave serpent and won," Max stated. "A cave serpent?! They're so big!" Daisy gasped. Shutting his agape mouth, Duke stammered, "They're impossible to beat!" Pulling up a crate to sit on, Snowball began, "Well he did! You see Norman, your dad raced after that truck to save you. Some blasted lion chased after him but he blew that cat up sky high!"

"The next day is when he faced off against that cave serpent. He went into this dark cave and was attacked by the creature but he struck it down with a bolt of lightning," Max cut in. He was about to say more when Snowball swiftly butted in again, "He started going up this mountain when he was ambushed by a troop of carnivorous squirrels!"

"Carnivorous squirrels! I knew they were real!" Mel screamed in terror, running away. The rest of the Circus Gang continued to listen to the story. Norman's striped tail wagged and wagged while Max spoke once more, "It was a tough battle but your dad pulled through victorious. And right now, at this very moment, he is traveling with a pack of ninetails over the misty mountains on his way here!"

"He'll be here in a matter of a few days if he keeps up his current pace!" Snowball shouted in happiness. Everyone was so happy to hear this. They needed this good news. "You see Norman, everything is going to be okay," Rooster commented with a soft chuckle as he turned towards Norman. Instead of a griffin cub though, he was talking to empty space.
