A chill running up his spine, Tiberius followed Gidget as she led him to his son. Norman was laying in the grass, his eyes closed. "Norman?" the older griffin whispered, nudging the cub's cheek gently. He received a groan in response before Norman opened his eyes and mumbled, "Daddy?"

"It's okay, Daddy's here. I got you little guy," Tiberius murmured, laying down beside his son. Gidget sat nearby. Spotting a bleeding cut where the bullet had grazed the cub on his left shoulder, the griffin gave the wound a gentle lick. Looking up at his father, Norman suddenly hugged Tiberius as he whimpered, "I don't hate you Dad." Returning the embrace, the older griffin mumbled, "Oh Norman, I'm so sorry about everything."

A soft smile appeared on Norman's face. Nuzzling his face into his father's feathery mane, the young griffin cub purred, "I've got the best dad in the world." Smiling quietly, Tiberius nuzzled Norman. Remembering something he learned on his journey, the griffin murmured, "Hey, guess what. I talked with a ninetail, and he was two thousand twenty two years old."

"Really?" Norman squeaked, amazed. Gidget giggled as she watched. "Oh yes, he was that old," Tiberius confirmed. Sitting up, Norman propped his taloned forepaws against his dad's shoulder and stuttered, "But how? Is that even possible?!" Pulling his son into a hug, Tiberius remarked, "It's true! He told me himself. Two thousand twenty two years old, and still going!" He playfully ruffled the feathers on the cub's head, making him laugh.

"Is this a bad time to mention we met someone who told us where you were going?" Gidget piped up. Lifting his gaze, Tiberius muttered, "What do you mean?" Getting up to his paws, Norman squeaked, "Yeah, Ozone told us he sent you to a human hunting ground." Huffing, the griffin grumbled, "That mountain lion is going to get it now."

"I'll call our ride!" Gidget yipped. Eyes widening in horror, Tiberius begged, "Gidget, please no. I haven't taught you how to speak dragon yet!"
