"The Forest King's death was very tragic indeed. He tried valiantly to save his son but alas he was no match for the humans and their guns," Ozone informed the crowd. Derick and Fox stood behind him, their heads bowed in silence. The residents of the forest were gathered before them, saddened to hear the terrible news. Shaking beside her father Leonard, Princess whimpered, "What about Norman?"

"I'm sorry little one. I don't know what happened to young Norman. The gunfight was brutal, the chances of survival were slim," Ozone meowed in a sympathetic voice. Sniffling, the mountain lion choked out, "I barely got out with my own life intact."

"What's going to happen to us now? We don't have anyone to protect us and our home," Leonard piped up from his position near the front of the assembled crowd. Glancing over at the white deer from the corner of his eye, Ozone dropped the sappy facade. His claws unsheathed, the mountain lion responded curtly, "That is correct Leonard, you don't have anyone to protect you now."

"You're going to kill us all!" someone in the back of the crowd yelled accusingly. That set off the rest of the audience. Frightened that they indeed would become the predators' next lunch, the forest residents wailed in horror. Derick and Fox grinned slyly at the animals, scaring them more. Jumping up to one the higher roots of the Great Oak, Ozone hissed, "You have no one to depend upon! The Forest King is dead! This territory is now my hunting grounds."

"You mean the territory would be your hunting grounds if you had successfully murdered me," Tiberius's voice echoed throughout the clearing, startling everyone. The crowd looked behind them to see the griffin, along with his son, a Chinese dragon and a fluffy white dog. Patting Hu on the nose, Gidget expressed her gratitude, "ThAnK yOu Hu." Purring, the dragon left.

"Your majesty! You're alive! Thank goodness!" Ozone exclaimed, his voice cracking with fear. Making his way through the crowd of animals as they welcomed his return, Tiberius's eyes were already beginning to glow blue. "If you want me dead so much, next time do something about it yourself," the griffin snarled, sparks flying from his paws, "Is that clear?" Nodding his head rapidly, Ozone squeaked, "Yes!"

"Good. Now get out of the Forest before I electrocute your tail," Tiberius growled threateningly. Ozone and his cronies didn't need to be told twice as they scrammed. The residents of the Forest broke out into cheers, delighted they were safe once more. Plus, Norman was safe and sound at home again. Watching his son talk with the others, Tiberius overheard Gidget asking him, "So, I don't have a place of my own. Can I stay with you and Norman? Don't worry, you won't even know I'm here."
