Warning: This bonus story counts as a Christmas special and does not take place during the actual story. In fact, it takes place 5 years before, when Isahia was only 8. This series of chapters is an entire story in it's own, so it will be much longer than regular chapters. With that warning in place I hope you enjoy the Christmas special!

Isahia's Christmas
The fall of the three kings

In a world not ours, on a continent in the middle of the sea of creation, there is a kingdom that is in the season of snow. In 2 days, this season will have its first celebration of something called christmas. In this continent such a celebration never existed, and is said that it was invented by lord Isaiah himself, who is king of the fair kingdom. But every time someone asks why he made such a thing up, the answer is always "I was told to." Which was strange. Because there is very few with high enough authority to tell him to do something and he responds with a mere yes. Lord Haoss? Zylem? Maybe one of his brothers? I have asked all these things and every answer has been no. How could that be? I still wanted to know who, but father won't tell me. "Isahia!" Counciler Sharen yells in a dimanding girth. "Yes, counciler?" "Your father wishes to see you." She responds, walking into my room. "Okay, where is he?" "In the royal library, so you will have to go with me to in order to have access." The royal library? I wonder what it looks like... "Very well." I respond, emptied. I get up off of my bed and stop staring out my window at the snow. We begin to walk onto the indoor balcony and go downstairs to the main gate. Facing the gate we go left into the kitchen. The chef wasn't there so I assumed he was with the gardner outside. From the entrance of the kitchen we go around the island leftwards to get to another door, she opens the door and we walk down an empty corridor which led to a pair of stairs. Along the hallway were about 30 empty picture frames but two of them had contents at the far end of the hallway toward the stairs. One having a picture of my father the king, with a plack that said Isaiah the first. The other painting held an image of me from a year ago that said Isahia the caring. I discide to pay no attention to it and walk up the stairs without thought. We make it to the top only to reach a locked door. She opens it with a key from her pocket and we enter. It was a large dome room. In the center was a medium sized circular table. Its walls were pure bookshelves, books of all kinds lined along. There was a step-ladder to reach the higher ones too! But in my size, I still could never reach the top! "Wait at the table. Lord Isaiah should be here any minute now." She pulls out a chair for me and so I sit and wait. Waiting... waiting... waiting... "May I look at one of the books?" She hesitates to answer, "You may, but hurry. For his majesty should be here soon." I nod in acceptance, then walking to the wall, not daring to climb the large step-ladder which is practically as tall as 7 of me or more! I pull out the first book I see and head back to the table. I read the title aloud as I sit in the chair I was in before. "Monster Atlas." A simple name for a simple book. Each page was aligned with a description and an illustration of differing monsters from Paige. Even telling strengths and weaknesses of each and every being. It even showed elements of the monsters. But I wasn't too sure what elements are. I discide to turn back to page 1 and read it aloud. "Shine... These little things may seem cute, but thier just annoyances." Huh? "Sharen, who wrote this?" "That would be a young man named Shaw. He wrote that atlas as a child of 17 to prove the king of his scholarship." "Oh..." Whatever that means. I read the rest aloud again. "Element: Light... Threat Level: 5%... Hint: As children a Shine is harmless and can even make good pets... This sucks!" "Watch your mouth, Isahia!" Oops! "Sorry Sharen!" She goes silent and sits in the chair on the opposite of the round table. I discide to turn the pages fast when one monster catches my eye. I turn back to that page, which would be page 331 and look at the monster. It was a black mask? With a frown face. It was one of those masks that you would find in theater, only black instead of white. Four tendrals with hands came from behind the mask. Each tendral had a cold, white skin with easily visible vains even though the tendrals were so thin. The tendrals also had deep cuts on them, blood just pouring out. It was a ransid image that will probably never leave my mind. The rest of him is enveloped in snow, so the rest of him is impossible to see, which I am grateful. I read the description aloud again. "Black Frost... A creature that only can be summoned with the seal of frozen embers. But once summoned it will control a host of choice like a marionette or puppeteer. In his original state he can only live outside the seal for a day, but if he obtains a host, he will live until the host is dead. Then when the host dies, in his weakened state he will have to return to the seal or die in the attempt... Element: Dark... Threat Level: 92%... Hint: DO NOT ENTER THE UNDERBELLY CATACOMBS OF STEELWATER CASTLE." "So you already knew why I called you here." Sharen and I both look toward the door for the fact that the deep mysterious voice was too familiar. "Father!" Sharen cowers in fear of punishment for not following orders. "Calm down son. I figured you would take advantage of our meeting place. I just didn't know you knew the topic of our discussion." "Father... I didn't." He looks at me, showing a little surprise which is a lot for him. "So you picked up the only book in this entire room that has knowledge of Black Frost and opened it to the exact page with him on it without even knowing the topic of our discussion?" I try to come up with an excuse but to no avail I find. "In truth, yes." Now even Sharen looks at me weird. "Very well. It doesn't really matter. All you did was shorten our meeting." He shrugs and sits down next to me, pointing to the part that says frozen embers. "Do you know of the seal?" "Not at all, father." I nod to him, clueless. He simply looks back at the book. "Below the castle is a sewer system that is still currently in progress. But we opened a hole in the wall that leads to a solid stone room with a large circular door. Behind that door is Black Frost, in his static form. The seal is the door. But the door can only be opened by melting it with the embodyment of rage. After its open the seal still isn't undone. The mask form of Black Frost is still there. Someone must willingly put on the mask before Black Frosts revival. Back in my my prime, my brother Paul and I worked on these sewers as the leaders and Paul unsealed the door." "What happened then?" "One of the workers was taken control of and Paul was forced to kill him. Trust me, it took both of us to fight Black Frost in that workers body in order to win. Do you understand the gravity of the situation?" "What situation?" "Oh my, I didn't tell you. 2 children from the capital have snuck into the sewers yesterday. Thier names were Makenial and Azekial. But thier entrance is too small for a normal man." "I think I see what your getting at, your majesty. You wan't me to go after them!" He looks at me in confusion, which in this case probably means my insinuation was incorrect. "No, not at all! I was going to ask if you knew any knighthood experienced kids your size." I dart a bad look at him. "Dad! My job class is Jouste!" He makes a small chuckle. "That may be so but you are still just a lad. You definitely couldn't go on your own." He laughs a bit louder. "Dad, I can do it! I know I can!" He looks in a new way to Sharen, I have no idea what it means. "Okay, on the morrow I will send you to help those kids. Whatever you do, do not open the seal and don't let those kids enter that room!" Was his eyes red for a second? No... just my imagination. "Also Isahia! You must not let anyone know I let you do this. I'm only letting you because I'm running out of options." "Thanks Dad!" I go to hug him and I can tell he hates me for it but I do it anyway! "Uhhh..." Sharen looks at him. "Why do you hate hugs your majesty?" He looks to the door and gets up. He walks to it, I still attached to his waist, now not even touching the floor. "I don't hate hugs, I dislike them." He says turning back to Sharen. He then darts his eyes to the doorknob. "Son, I will give the details tomorrow. Be prepared and get some rest." He walks out the library and down the stairs. I wont let go! "Release me!" He says reaching the long corridor growing intolerant. Sharen locks the library door and follows us down. "I think he's trying to say something, your lordship." He looks to his back to see my head, smiling. "I'm not doing anything until you hug me back!" He shows his usual hate face. "Fine." He crouches letting my feet touch the ground. He then gives me a soft, gentle hug with 1 arm, but still cold. "Thanks Dad!" He turns around and walks down the hall to the kitchen. "Stop calling me dad. Its disrespectful." He walks through the door, leaving me with Sharen as usual. The rest of the day was pretty normal. I had breakfast then began class with Scholar Sky. He made it about weapons today and which overcome others. After I had free time so for once I was productive and helped the gardner with the snowmantalo.(Large beast that reawakens every winter for some odd reason.) Cole the Black knight scolded me for it and told me I should spend my youth causing as much ruckus as possible. I listened only to try it by scaring the baby pheonix. I chased him around the palace until I fell into the frozen fountain. Before I fell onto the ice the baby pheonix melted it and it felt like a hot tub when I landed in the drinkable ice. He flew back to the coup. When I did this I accidentally skipped Jayces class of war and battle. (His title, not mine.) I go back to apologies only to get scolded again by Jayce about youth being sculpter of your future self and then he did a few bodybuilder poses. After he started that I left without him even noticing. Cecil and I play chess. We do it every couple of days, but I always lose. Luckily he doesn't bet pounds on it or I would be bankrupt. After that its nightfall, Luna high in he sky. I go back to the training room to check on Jayce to see him next to his mirror still doing poses. I shut the door immediately and go straight to bed. I hear a knock on my door so I open it. Its mother, holding a book in her hand. She wears a red dress that shines in the Lunalight. She is half Coloria. (Colorias are a Pepal whos hair color is determined by personality.) So her hair is half brown, and the edge of her hair is blue! "Hi mom!" "Hello, sweetheart." She responds back in her usual calm tone. "I came to tuck you in." After those words she picks me up like I'm a baby and puts me on the bed, gently. "I'm not a kid anymore mom. I'm a Jouste now!" She looks at me with a smile. "I know honey, but you will always be my little boy." She pokes my hip so I scratch it with the back of my hand. "Mom!" "Listen, honey. Its serious time." She pulls her book open, nods, then shuts it again. "For every day this string allayed, protect thine say for subtle pray, hold thine to waist forever more, until thine is returned to home once more." "Mom?" "Do not worry son. You will be safe on your quest tomorrow now. Good luck!" She pokes my hip again, hugs me, then heads toward the door. "Thanks mom!" I yell to her as she turns the knob. The light of the main halls chandelier shines through as she turns her head to stare at me once more. "Your welcome, sweety." She shuts the door behind her. The room is dark again. But there is light reflecting off the snow. To think, Sols light reaches Luna, Lunas light reaches the snow, and the snows light reaches my window. "So thats why they call it a magical time of year." I exclaim to myself without perpose. But now that mom is on my side, I can't and won't lose! I'll find those kids and save them! But I should probably sleep so I'm ready. Goodnight Luna...
