Over dinner, they tried to come up with something that could cheer Dick up and not trigger any negative response. "How about we take him to the circus?" Jason suggested, earning a disappointed look from everyone else. "Oh yes, a great day out with all the PTSD a child could want," Damian commented, shooting down his idea.

"What about a trip to the mall to get new toys?" Jason suggested, trying again.

"It would be too loud for him. With all the people there it would be like Hell for the poor thing." Alfred said. Jason sat back in his chair in a huff. Getting your ideas shot down wasn't a fun feeling.

The family hadn't eaten much over dinner and were constantly on their toes, listening for any movement from Dick. "What about the park outside of town? You used to take us to it all the time because no one ever went there," Tim suggested.

"A park would be good for him. He's an acrobat after all so he could keep up his training there," Damian added. "Plus he can actually be a kid again," Jason added. Bruce nodded and thought if the park was still there. "Then we'll do that."

Up in Dick's room, the boy slept soundly. He had been exhausted from the lack of air and emotional hurt that had been going on. There was a problem, however. Slade could now easily get to him due to his exhaustion. He had thought it himself that attacking Dick in the house wouldn't be as efficient as attacking him in an isolated area. Then he remembered the challenge that would be getting him to said isolated area. Slade decided to get him now and risk it. He snuck into the house and overheard a conversation between the Wayne family. They were going to take him to the circus? No the mall? No a park outside of town? Perfect, he thought. He couldn't believe his luck. By the time they noticed the kid was gone, they would have to spend an hour driving before contacting The League. That gave him plenty of time to cover up his tracks. He snuck out of the house and looked up at Dick's window with a grin. He couldn't evade him any longer and soon he'd have his apprentice back. Slade just hoped he hadn't gotten too confident whilst he was staying with the rich idiots.
