This song makes me almost cry because Varion reminds me of Dick if he went evil after losing his family

Dick woke up with a start. Something felt off. He couldn't tell what but there was an unease in his soul. It made his stomach churn. He turned to his side and noticed it was the early morning. "May as well get up," he muttered. He took out clothes and began to get dressed. That feeling was hitting him hard today. It was the same feeling he'd get when something bad was about to happen. He felt it two days before his parent's death. Now that he was up, he decided to see if he could help Alfred with any chores. Perhaps the feeling was just hunger or he was starting to get sick. Either way, he'd still keep vigilant.

He trotted downstairs and found Alfred just getting up. "Hello Alfred." he greeted. The butler jumped then looked to Dick. "What're you doing up Master Richard?" he inquired.
"I couldn't sleep. Is there anything I can help you with?" Dick asked. Alfred smiled at him then thought for a moment. "You are going to the park today so perhaps you can help me make a picnic basket," he suggested.

"I'm going to the park?" Dick asked quietly. Maybe his feeling wasn't a bad one. The parks he went to were always nice ones where others would marvel at his acrobatics. "Yes. Don't worry there will only be you, Master Bruce and the boys there," the older assured him. Dick nodded and followed the butler to the kitchen to help with preparations.

Damian felt a presence in his room and immediately jumped up, putting a knife to the attacker's throat. He then realised this attacker was Dick, who had come in to wake him up. Dick grabbed his wrist and on instinct flipped him over. "Sorry Damian!" he exclaimed.

"Knocking is needed Grayson," he scolded, getting up slowly. The younger stepped back in fear of his tone. "I did but you didn't answer so I thought I should come in." Damian sighed, feeling guilty once he saw Dick look at him in slight fear. "Don't worry about it, Grayson. Get out so I can get dressed." He nodded and began to walk out. "And smile for God's sake," he added, causing Dick to giggle.

Timeskip because I'm a lazy asshole

At the park, Dick was racing Jason on the monkey bars whilst Tim was trying to find a WiFi signal. Damian watched Dick carefully, ready to run and catch him if he ever slipped. "This was a great idea," Alfred commented. Bruce nodded, smiling at the boys.

"I know, we're lucky this park exists."

"I mean adopting him, Master Bruce. I doubt a family would understand him like us," he explained. "The Wayne family is great at that," Bruce chuckled, that chuckle spreading to Alfred. Bruce's phone's buzzed and he looked down. "They need me in the office," he stated with a sigh. "I'm sure the boys are more than capable of looking after themselves." Alfred insisted. He nodded and called them over. "I just have to nip to the office for half an hour and I'll be back as soon as I can," Bruce informed them. They nodded. "Look after one another and call me if anything happens." Again they nodded. They watched him drive off then returned as they were.

"Dick stop cheating!" Jason pouted after losing once again. Dick giggled.

"I'm not cheating, you're just too slow," he replied.

"No way!" Jason defended. Damian rolled his eyes, only to notice something in the near distance. There was a shadowy figure beside a tree that definitely didn't mean well. "Todd, stop pouting and get over here!" he shouted. Jason jumped down and joined him, leaving Dick to swing upsidedown with Tim constantly on the verge of running over to stop him. He acted like a worried mother half the time. "What do you want Demon Spawn?" he asked. Damian tipped his head to the side where the tree was making him look over. The shadowy figure was still there. "Are we checking this out?" he asked. Damian nodded and they began to walk towards it as nonchalantly as possible. "Where are they going?" Dick asked, looking over to Damian and Jason. Tim turned with a raised eyebrow and shrugged his shoulders. "They probably saw something shiny and went towards it like magpies," he joked.

"Are they scared of shiny things?" Dick asked. He shook his head in confusion. Why would they be scared of shiny things? "Then why are they running away?" he added, pointing to the pair dashing towards them. They were shouting but they couldn't hear what about. Then they saw a masked man, the one and only Slade Wilson. "Crap!" Tim shouted, grabbing Dick and running off. They didn't get far enough...

They were shot with tranquillizers one by one until Dick was the only one left. He'd been cornered and Slade was now walking up to him. His breath was rapid and he could only tremble in fear. He didn't even attempt to fight Slade, there was no point. "Leave me alone! Please!" he begged. "You have too much potential for me to give up," Slade told him. He grabbed Dick's wrist, the younger desperately clawing at his hands. Slade tightened his grip and lifted the small boy up to his eye level. "I'd be careful if I were you because I can force you to pick off this family one by one. Got it?" Dick whimpered and nodded. He was dropped and he closely followed Slade, gazing over at his brothers' unconscious forms. There was no point in running away he'd only be caught again. Dick was at the total mercy of Slade. He had to kill again and again for the rest of his life.
