Arjun attended the phone call which was actually ringing since a long time

Arjun : Hello...

A couple of mins later, everyone was shocked to see tears rolling down Arjun's eyes - incessantly.

Worse still, Arjun dropped his phone and fainted then and there itself.

"ARJUN SIR..."
"MAPPILAI..."
"ARJUN ANNA..."
"ARJUN...!"

Panic stricken voices echoed in the marriage hall. Everyone was shocked! Who could have called Arjun? What could have that person said, that made Arjun faint?
Worried, Roja immediately called for water. A number of doctors present among the guests rushed to the stage to check on him.

They sprinkled water & made Arjun sit up.

Roja : Arjun Sir! Enna sir aachu ungaluku?!
Kalpana: Arjun, Enna pa aachu

Everyone's world came crashing down.
The other doctors were speechless.
Arjun was one of the most sincere, dedicated, talented and kind doctors in the doc community. But now things had gone to the extent of cancelling his license.

The truth was too much for Arjun to bear. Sensing his situation, Paati sought an apology from all the guests and asked them to have food and go. Meanwhile the family left the marriage hall immediately. Rajesh & Ashwin stayed back to make sure that everyone eats lunch and then leaves.

As soon as they reached home, Arjun went & sat down on the sofa facing down. It was the first time Roja was entering that house, as the daughter in law, yet it wasn't the way it was supposed to be, all thanks to the disturbing turn of events.

Nevertheless, Kalpana didn't want Roja to feel bad. Hence, Inspite of the situation, she took aarathi for her daughter in law.

However Roja didn't mind being welcomed amidst gloom. For her, the most important duty seemed to stand by her husband, that moment when he needed her the most.

Everyone felt much better hearing Roja speak thus.

Roja walked straight to the sofa and sat beside Arjun. He was facing down, and didn't even glance up at his new wife.

Roja (gently holding up Arjun's chin) : Arjun sir, Enna paarunga sir.

Arjun didn't look up. He turned further away unable to face her

Roja : Sir...en sir Enna paaka mattingiringa...
Naa unga wife thane sir

Arjun : Ennala yarode mugathayum paaka mudiyala Roja🥺
He said softly still facing away.

Roja : Neenga yean sir guilty ah feel panringa..ithula unga thappu Enna irukku.

Just then Prathap received a phone call. He attended it half heartedly.

Person on the other end : Mr. Prathap, ippothan news Channel ah paathen. Naa paakarthu unmaiya. Unga paiyan ode license....

Prathap (cutting him) : Mr. Saxena..No problem. It's a small misunderstanding from their part. No worries we will sort it out soon

Mr Saxena : But news channel la ennanamo....

Prathap : News Channel la Enna vena sollitu poranga Mr Saxena. Avanga laam eppoda Intha mathri News ku than wait pannuvanga hype panna.

He cut the phone, not wanting to hear anymore of it. But what he didn't realise was that Arjun was looking at him all this while.

Arjun : Appa, yaru pa phone la

Prathap : Erm..Arjun! Onnum illa pa. Ennode business partner. Oru important meeting eppo vechikalam nu...

He stopped midway when he saw Arjun giving him a small smile. His eyes had so much pain in them.

Arjun : Sollunga pa, yean niruthitinga

Prathap : Erm...(not knowing what to say)

Arjun : Enakku theriyum pa. Yenna pathi visarika than phone pannirpanga. News Channel la Enna Romba pugazhranga pola.

He got up to switch on the tv.

Deepa : Anna vendam na. News Channel onnuna 4 solluvanga. Athellam paaka vendam na

Kalpana : Ama Arjun, athellam ethukku pa paathukittu. Unna pathi than enga ellarkume theriyume

Inspite of the family advising against it, Arjun switched on the news channel.
As soon as the tv was turned on, he saw his news as big fat headlines right on the top of the screen.

Headline :  Famous Paediatric Doctor Of Chennai Loses Medical License For Medical Malpractice

News reader : Arjun Prathap is a famous paediatric surgeon residing in Chennai, India.
Right now, it has been reported that this famous and talented doctor who has saved numerous lives couldn't save his own license - the key to his medical practice. It's indeed shocking to hear that Dr. Arjun who is a respectable person in society has stooped so low for money.
Dr Arjun is reported to be doing medical malpractice. He has been stealing the organs of the children who come to him, and has been allegedly selling them overseas for money.
Hence, The MCI has cancelled Arjun's license, and he has been debarred from medical practice.

The news fell like a thunder bolt on the family. Everyone was shocked.

Arjun collapsed like a corpse on Roja's shoulder. Till then he only knew that his license was cancelled, but didn't have the slightest clue as to why his license was cancelled. The information he had got through the phone call only said that his license was cancelled for medical malpractice
He didn't expect such a huge allegation against him, even in his wildest dreams.

Prathap kept getting phone calls in a row on his mobile as well as in the landline. Sumathi aunty was having hard time managing the phone calls on the landline.
Even the most distant relatives who didn't call them even once in a year were all calling today. All seemed to have woken up from coma.

She held Arjun who was still on her shoulder and hugged him tightly.

Arjun broke down inconsolably in front of his family. All his pent up emotions were out. His past, present, future everything seemed to be killing him from within.

Everyone felt sadness choking them. They immediately surrounded Arjun.

Each one took their turns to shower Arjun with words of comfort.

Malar and Kaushik also slowly made their way towards Arjun. Then, with their tiny hands, both of them wiped the tears, that were sticking in the corner of Arjun's eyes. Then both planted a kiss each on both his cheeks.

Arjun felt blessed 🥹
He felt that he had earned not just name and fame, but a beautiful family to call his own as well. Everyone stood by him.

Ashwin also arrived then.

Sumathi amma quickly brought dinner in a plate.
Roja took it from her. Then she took a small quantity of the food and lovingly extended her hand towards his mouth.
Arjun saw Roja's eyes. It was whispering to him "Everything would be alright"
He gently ate the food from her hand.
Then, without anyone saying anything, he took some food in his hand and fed Roja.

Kalpana : Adada! En pulla karpooram da nee😘

Arjun : Roja, ovvoru ponnum avan purushan kaiya pudichikittu avan kooda sernthu valathu kaal eduthu vechu puguntha veetu kulla varanum nu aasai paduva. Aana Naa than Antha entha santhoshathayum unakku kudukala. Ithayavthu Naa seiyaren. Sapdu Roja.

Roja happily ate from his hand. Then the entire family took turns to feed Roja and Arjun. For sometime, they completely forgot all their pain and worries. It was a simple meal of Idli and chutney, but for Rojun, it tasted divine, for it was fed with pure affection.

That night in Rojun's room.

Roja entered Arjun's room for the very first time. It was not decorated or anything, for the family knew that they would definitely not want it in such a situation. They decided that they'd do it sometime later, on an auspicious day, when everything settles down.

Yet, without any decorations, the room looked perfect and elegant. It was spick and span with everything arranged neatly. There was no mess or a speck of dirt anywhere.
On one side of the room was sofa, and a study table. Near the table was a shelf with lots of medical books and other novels etc. On the study table was a pen stand, a framed pic of Arjun's graduation, a table lamp. Above the study, was a beautiful painting, which showed a doctor saving numerous lives and a gold medal was hung over it

On this side was the bed, a big wardrobe , a dressing table, with minimal things and above the bed were two large pictures - one was Arjun in doctor's suit, other one was a lovely candid pic in profile pose. Roja absolutely loved it. Specially his eyes in the second pic seemed to make the pic come to life. Next to the dressing table was a showcase, with more books, trophies, medals, and a framed pic of his late parents. There was also a family pic which looked adorable. Arjun had placed the stethoscope shaped trophy which Malar and Kaushik had given him, in that showcase and Roja was intrigued seeing the unique piece. The room was a picture of perfection in short. There was also a white board in one corner, on a stand, which had chits of various tasks, plans. Etc written on it.

Roja (smiling) : Neenga Romba organised sir. Paathu paathu onnu onnayum vechirkinga😊

Lost in these thoughts, Roja sat on the bean bag which was there. Five minutes later, Arjun entered. He smiled a bit seeing Roja.

He gently went near Roja, made her getup and made her sit on the bed

Arjun : Intha bed Innime ennodathu illa, nammalodathu. Enakku Enna urimai irukko, athu Unakkum irukku.

Saying this Arjun sat beside her and both shared a tender moment.

Just then Arjun's phone rang..
It was Ashok!

Both of their faces were filled with disdain.

Arjun attended the call, and put it on speaker.

Ashok (ecstatic) : Arjun..ennode wedding gift unakku pudichitha

Rojun were stunned.

Roja (angrily) : Appo...appo...Ithu ellathukum kaaranam nee than ah😡

Ashok : Oh! Mrs Arjun ah
Neenga Romba Sharp Mrs. Arjun. You're absolutely right. Intha marakka mudiyatha wedding gift ku kaaranam Naa than. 😌

Saying this..Roja cut the call
Arjun was looking at her in awe.
He felt a new gush of energy in him.
He gently laid his head on her lap. Roja carassed his hairs gently.
He gradually fell asleep after the long day.

Roja looked at his sleeping face. It had a small peaceful smile. As she admired how cutely he was sleeping, she whispered in his ears

"Nimmathiya thoongunga Arjun sir. Unga manasula neraiya sadness irukku nu Enakku nallavey theeiyum...aana ithellame sari aagi, Namma mulu nimmathi ode thoongara oru naal varum, naanga ellarume unga kooda irukkom nu avan kitta sonninga la, Antha nambikkai ah mattom vitradhinga Sir. Neenga evlo kasta pattu poradi Intha nilamai la irukkinga nu Enakku theriyum. Athu oru naalum unga kaiya vittu pogathu Arjun sir..."

Thinking that he was deep asleep, she gently made him sleep on the bed. But the truth was Arjun had heard every word that she had told in his ears.
After that, she got up and went near the window, looking out. Roja wasn't sleepy. She was looking quietly outside.

Few minutes later, Arjun turned and looked at Roja...

"Nee kudukara dhairyam than Ippo Enakku ellame Roja. Nee, Intha kudumbam laam than ennode miga periya asset...
Naa kandippa nee sonna mathri marubidiyum Antha Doctor coat ah poduven. Naa ennikume Dr. Arjun than...."
