When we got home, I immediately ran inside to Ponyboy, hoping he wasn't still mad at me for whatever it is I did.

He was studying something on the couch, so I ran up to him and frantically hit his knee, bringing his attention to me. I grabbed his finger and tried to pull him to my room, but he jerked his hand back.

"No Fizz, your going to talk to me."

He said. I gave him my best look of desperation, but he only went back to studying. Darry came back home from work and shut the door behind him, and I ran up to him, pulling on his pant leg.

I gave him the same look as Pony, but he only knelt down and hugged me.

"Well I missed you too, Fizz."

He said. I threw my hands down to my sides and squeezed my eyes shut, shaking my head. I grabbed his hand but he let go and went into his room.

That leaves Sodapop. He could never hold a grudge. Especially against me. I ran to the door and yanked it open to see him talking to Steve on the porch.

"Hey Fizzie." Steve said. I waved at him, but quickly pulled Soda inside as I felt a tear or two trickle down my cheeks. I brought him to the kitchen and gave him my book.

"Beginners Sign- Ohhhh."

He chuckled a little. He looked up at me and noticed my tears and his smile dropped.

"What's wrong?"

He asked. I showed him the letters as I signed to him, hoping he'd understand.

Y-O-U

L-E-A-R-N

P-L-E-A-S-E

S-O-D-A

I signed. He looked at me and back at the book a few times.

"You want me to learn this?"

He asked. My eyes widened and I cried even harder as I nodded my head.

Y-E-S !

I signed. He grinned at me and I jumped out of my chair and hugged him as tight as I could. I knew Soda would understand.

---

Me and Soda spent the rest of the night learning all the letters and how to ask for things. I already knew most of them, so I was kind of like a teacher for once.

I showed him all the letters up to "L," so we were almost done with the whole alphabet. I brought my hand to my chin and then back down, which means:

"Thank You."

He did the same. I smiled, because I knew Soda would learn anything just for me, Darry wouldn't think much of me asking since he has no time to learn, and Ponyboy just... Won't.

I was happy I at least had one understanding brother.

---

That night at dinner, me and Soda sat next to each other, and Darry set up the table. When the whole gang came for dinner and took their seats, me and Soda grinned at each other.

"Hey Fizz, how was school?"

Darry asked.

G-O-O-D

I signed. He looked a little taken back.

"What was that?"

He asked Soda. He smiled.

"She said school was good."

He said before taking a big bite of mashed potatoes. Darry looked at me for a second and then back at Soda.

"She's got another appointment tomorrow morning, will you take her? I have to get to work early."

Darry said. My smile faded when he mentioned therapy. Soda looked at me.

"Sorry Dar, I can't take her, I gotta go in early too."

He said. Soda looked over at Two-Bit, and back at Darry, motioning his head to the redhead sitting across the table from me.

"Maybe Two-Bit could take her?"

Soda suggested. Two-Bit looked up with a face full of potatoes.

"Me?"

He asked. It was kind of hard to understand him.

"Two-Bit, your like a child, what have I said before about talking with your mouth full?"

Ponyboy asked, irritated.

"Sorry Pony."

He mumbled, swallowing. He looked back up at me and smiled at Darry.

"I'll take her, I just need the address and-"

"A drivers license."

Ponyboy interrupted, chuckling. Two-Bit kind of glared at him. Darry have him the address and soon, it was time for bed.

The gang tucked me in, and I signed to all of them before they left.

I
L-O-V-E
Y-O-U
G-U-Y-S

I said. They all looked at Soda.

"She said she loves us." He smiled.
