"What?! What is it?!" I forced myself to get out of bed. I stepped on the ground. My feet were burning despite the fact I had fireproof sneakers on! And it was getting hot in the room. The yellow light slowly turned orange, then red. The walls melted and revealed a blood red sky with even redder clouds. The outline of the figure I saw, was me. Same old me, but unresponsive. Tikal disappeared. I looked left and there was Amy, standing there, looking pretty as ever (Don't tell her I said that), with Tails by her side.

"Amy, Tails! Am I glad to see you! Boy, when I tell you the crazy dream I had-" I stopped. That wasn't Tails or Amy. They stared at me, with blank expressions.

They were just emotionless sacks of, I don't even know.

"Welcome, to my little play area." The crazy demonic spirit spoke. I almost jumped again for the third time.

"S-show yourself!" I put up my fists.

"Sonic, what are you doing?" I heard Tails' say.

"You can't fight your way out of this." Amy's sweet sounding voice whispered in my right ear, my left one ringing for some unknown reason.

"You're not real!"

"Of course we are! We're your friends!" Fake Tails tried to give me a hug, but I shoved him right into Fake Amy.

"No! You're not! You're just some... puppet toy he's using to manipulate your minds!" What was I trying to say? He's manipulating my mind, not theirs.

"Come on! After all, you do trust us, especially me, right?" Fake Amy batted her eyes at me.

No matter what Amy she was, I still don't like her.

"You're not real, you're not real. None of you are real." I muttered.

"Sonic, snap out of it!"

"You're not real!!!"

Someone was shaking me by my throat. I couldn't breathe. Vision blurred. Tiny voices became huge sounds. My body on fire. My lungs filled with water. My eyes turned black.

Nothing happened.

Everything was blank.

No sound, no world.

No me.

Where was I? Where am I?

Most importantly, are my friends free from this monster?
