Friday morning.

Kiana pov

"This is it." I said to myself.

This was it. After spending my life here so far, in Arizona, I was moving. Not only moving, but 'starting my life again' as my mom had told me.

Our whole house was empty. My bedroom, kitchen and everything else.

"I'll fucking miss you Kia" My best friend Ashley said between tears.

And that's when it really became real to me. I broke down crying on Ashley's shoulder. I was leaving everything and by best friend who has stuck with me for God knows how long. Why was this happening to me of all people?

We stood there crying on each other.

And normally I don't cry. I rarely do so. But in this situation, their was no reason to hold back.

Beep beep

The moving van had been loaded with some of our furniture. Not all of it, because we wanted to have a completely new environment. But it was ready to go.

"Kia!" My mom said coming out of the house that was no longer ours.
"It's time to go hunny." She said hugging me and Ashley together.

Ashley cried harder as we hugged each other tightly and this was the last time I'd see my best friend for now.

"Bye bitch" I said letting go of her and trying to crack a smile.

I hopped into the moving van with my mom and we began driving off.

I waved to Ashley through the window.  And we were gone.

I rubbed my eyes and woke up. We were still driving.
"What the fuck?" I asked

I looked at my phone and it was 4pm.

The neighbourhoods were so posh and had massive houses.

"Mom? How long do we have left?" I asked.

She looked weak as ever.

"About 10 minutes now darling." She answered.

"Oh ok. Mom you don't look so good." I told her.

"I'm just tired babe."

"Ohh we'll go to bed after we unpack our stuff." I said.

"Yeah. Thank you hunny." She said smiling at me then back onto the road.

I fell asleep again and woke up to the van parked in front of a house. It was more like a mansion.

"Mom, is this ours?"

"Yep, all ours." She said smiling as usual.

"Omfg!" I screamed as I jumped out of the van and hugged my mom.

"I love you so much mom. How did you do this after spoiling me?" I asked

"I do my best for us Kia."

"Omg, i really do love you" I said as I ran into the house.

About an hour and half later. We had put our few furniture into our house. It had 4 bedrooms (only God knows why), 3 bathrooms, 2 receptions and a large garden.
My room was practically the biggest. It had pink and white walls with my name written in fancy letters across my mirror. I had placed all my memories and pictures around my room making it as neat as possible.

I needed to go school shopping as I was starting my new school on Monday. I was really not looking forward to starting a new school, but I obviously had to deal with life.

Sunday 6:09pm

My mum and I had just come back from shopping. Mainly my school shopping and house shopping. On our way back, I noticed a park that had a basketball court.

"Mom, I'm going!!" I yelled from the living room. I grabbed my basketball, my phone and headed for the door.

"Ok Kia, be safee!" She yelled back.

The park was only about 3 minutes away. I managed to make my way without getting lost.

When I got there, there were two fine boys. Both brown skinned. I ignored them and went to the other side of the basketball court and played by myself.

I saw a fine lil ma walking past me. She was looking good. Short, thick, pretty face. I saw her playing and told my nigga I was going to her and went in her direction.

Kiana pov

My ball bounced behind me. I turned around to get it and the slightly darker one had it in his hands.
"Can I have my ball please?" I asked with a bit of attitude but trying to sound as nice as possible.

"Dang shorty, I ain't never seen you around here before." He said

"Yeah that's cos I'm new here." I said still expecting my ball. Not gonna lie he was fine as hell. nice teeth and nice face.

"Ohh aight. My names Tyler but you can call me Ty. What's yo name beautiful?" He said with a smirk.

Beautiful? Ain't nobody called me that before except my mum. I blushed before I spoke.

"Kiana. But my friends call me Kia."

"You blushing ma?"

"No shut up." I said playfully.

Aight. Kia d--" I cut him off.

"Nigga I said my friends call me Kia. I don't know you." I said handing out my hands for my ball.

"aight ma."
He put his hands up in surrender before giving me my ball.

"Thank you." I said trying to be polite.

"No problem ma. So you play ball?" He asked me.

"Yep, just as a hobby though. Do you?" I asked throwing the ball into the hoop.

"Yeah, i love basketball and going to the gym. So how can you play ball with yo small ass body?" he said laughing and shooting the ball through the hoop.

"Nigga, Tyler whatever yo' name is, I'm not small I'm 5'2." I said standing and crossing my arms.

I knew fully well that I was kinda short. But oh well.

"You got some attitude ma" he said with a smirk.

"Yea yea whatever. I gotta go now." I told Tyler.

"Ohh aight. Can I have your phone?" He asked me.

I knew he wanted my number, so i gave him my phone and he gave me his. I saved myself as:

and he saved himself as

I rolled my eyes at him and laughed.

"Call me, aight?" He said as I gave him a hug. This boy was tall.

"Yeah I will. If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you?" I asked.

"5'9" he said as I pulled away from his grip.

"Nigga, you a fucking giant" i laughed

His friend came down to where we were standing.

"Kiana, Quan, Quan, Kiana." Tyler said introducing him to me.

"Hii Quan." I said hugging him briefly.

"Yoo Kiana, you aight?" He asked me

"Yeah, you?"

"Yea I'm coo" he said.

"Ok, well I'm gonna go now." I said grabbing my ball from the ground.

"I'll drop you home if you want." Tyler said to me.

"No it's ok. It's not a long walk anyway." I said

"Coo, see you around shorty." He said.
I walked off with a smile on my face all the way to my house.

Home

"Why you smiling hard?" My mum asked me.

"Dont worry mom" I said grabbing an orange from the kitchen counter.

"Tell me Kia." She said dropping her phone on the table and looking at me.

"Okay....So...... I met this nice guy at the basketball court down the road..."

"And..."

"We shared numbers." I said smiling.

"Awww my baby." My mum said. "Your getting all grown up."

"Mommm! He's not even a proper friend, but he was fine as hell." I said

she laughed and shook her head.

"Anyway, mom imma go to bed, goodnight." I said kissing her cheek.

"Goodnight baby." She said.

I went upstairs and changed into my pyjamas and climbed into bed. I had my first day of school tomorrow as well, so i had to be prepared.

Just as I got comfy in bed, my phone started ringing. It was the face time tone.

"Ugh." I groaned as I turned on my bedside light and picked up my phone.
It was:

A smile came across my face as I answered it.

"Yoo ma"
I saw his white straight teeth smiling at me.

"Hii, why you already facetiming me, we only just met."
I said smiling.

"I only called to see if you were home"

"Ohh yeah, I am. What bout you?"

"Yeah same, I saw you walking home when I was in my car."

"Damn a nigga couldn't wave or beep?"

"Nope I just saw you smiling so I assumed you were in a very good mood and didn't need any interruption."

"Ohh yhh. I was."

"I never see a girl with good basketball skills as you before."

"Aww thank you Ty."

"Ty? I said only my friends call me Ty. I don't know you"
He said mimicking me. And standing up the way I was standing.

"Ughh, stoppp itt"

"It's ok ma, you can call me Ty"
He said sitting back down.

"And you can call me Kia"

"So we friends?"

"I don't know, if you want to be."

"Stop trippin shorty, of course were friends."

"Okk, what you doing?"

"Playing 2k. You?"

"In bed doing nothing."

"You could come over?"

"At this time?"

"Yeah of course. Only real niggas go out in the night"

"So you ain't a real nigga?"

"Only today I ain't. I got stuff to do"

"Hmm..."

And I fell asleep from there...
