[Y/N's P.O.V]

I was hidden in the crowd, watching Grace and Malachi preform in the town square for money. Levin had sent word to his Mother's friend Nicole, who'd come and helped us create Alibis for ourselves. That had been two weeks ago, we were slowly building a small army. Malachi walked off the performance area and slipped in the crowd. He came up next to me. "How's it going Abbie?" Abbie was my Alibi. We weren't aloud to pick our own new names because then people might figure out it was us.

    "It's going well Jason. You?"

"Tired, but good. Oh. You'll love Lilly's next song she's singing."

    "I will?"

"She told me her outfit might turn you off, but I've seen the song lyrics. You'll like it."He informed me.

"Have you seen her outfit?"I asked.

"No,"Malachi replied,"I'm actually curios to see what it is."

"Hey you two."Levin had manged to make it to where I was standing.

"Hey Baker."I replied as music started up and I shushed the boys. Damm Grace was right, her outfit was a slight turn off but I wanted to hear the song.

"Holy Damm....."Malachi trailed off at the sight of Grace's outfit.

    Grace started singing.

"Well, I wish I had some shoes on my two bare feet
And it's gettin' kinda cold in these painted on cut-off jeans
I hate the way this bikini top chafes
Do I really have to wear it all day?

Yeah, baby

I hear you over there on your tailgate whistlin' "A few boys in the crowd whistled, including Malachi.
"Sayin', "Hey girl."
But you know I ain't listenin'
'Cause I got a name
And to you it ain't "pretty little thing", "honey" or "baby"
Yeah it's drivin' me red-red-red-red-red-red-redneck crazy

Bein' the girl in a country song
How in the world did it go so wrong?
Like all we're good for
Is looking good for you and your friends on the weekend
Nothing more
We used to get a little respect
Now we're lucky if we even get
To climb up in your truck, keep our mouth shut and ride along
And be the girl in a country song

Well, shakin' my moneymaker ain't ever made me a dime
And there ain't no sugar for you in this shaker of mine
Tell me one more time, "you gotta get you some of that"
Sure I'll slide on over, but you're gonna get slapped
These days it ain't easy being that

Girl in a country song
How in the world did it go so wrong?
Like all we're good for
Is looking good for you and your friends on the weekend
Nothing more
We used to get a little respect
Now we're lucky if we even get
To climb up in your truck, keep our mouth shut and ride along
And be the girl in a country song

Yeah, yeah, yeah, baby

Aww no, Conway and George Strait
Never did it this way
Back in the old days
Aww y'all, we ain't a cliché
That ain't no way
To treat a lady...

... like a girl in a country song
How in the world did it go so wrong?
Like all we're good for
Is looking good for you and your friends on the weekend
Nothing more
We used to get a little respect
Now we're lucky if we even get
To climb up in your truck, keep our mouth shut and ride along
Down some old dirt road we don't even wanna be on
And be the girl in a country song

Yeah, baby, I ain't your tan legged Juliet.

Can I put on some real clothes now?

Aww, no." Grace laughed as the song finished. "Thanks for coming y'all! If you liked the show, maybe donated some. Now I'm gonna put some real clothes on! See ya tomorrow!"

She got a few laughs and at LEAST 80% of the crowd walked to her donate bin and put money in. She came back out into the crowd with the same shorts on, and a T-Shirt. "Hey Jason! Abbie, Baker. Did ya like the song?"

"Yeah, I loved it!"I grinned at her.

"Good, now come help me with the boxes."

"Malachi! Come here!"Grace called across the clearing we were using as a base.

"Why?"He asked, looking up from his map.

" 'Cause I need your help, dork. Now get over here."

"I'm not a dork!"Malachi argued as he stood up and walked over to her. I smiled. Everyone could tell those two were in love except for them. Levin was in one of the two tents we had. I sat down next to him.

    "You okay, Levin?"

Levin looked up at me and looked at my hair, my outfit, then down at his,"I want to be myself again...."

"We can all go back to being ourselves again soon, we just need to win this war."

    "It's so hard though Y/-"

I cut him off with a kiss that was supposed to be quick. It became a passionate one within seconds.

When we pulled away our eyes met. "Is this moment fake, Levin? I believe it's real and we're still us."

    "I hope it's real."He replied.

"It is, I promise you that."
