Glory had no idea when this portal would finally throw them out onto the hard ground. In fact, she didn't even know if she'd ever feel the ground again, for this "Hunger Games" thing Darkstalker had told them about could take place just about anywhere.

Glory was starting to get a bit motion sick from the wild spinning and bouncing-as well as Tsunami's screams. Even though she was used to the loud, boisterous SeaWing, Glory sometimes still dreamed of that one peaceful day where Tsunami would just shut her mouth, doing a great deed to basically everyone who knew her.

"And ... we're there!" Darkstalker boomed.

Right on cue, all of them tumbled down onto a cold, mossy floor that no one recognized. Brown birds chattered in hushed voices in the pine trees, the wind whistled around them, and-gross-a small brown snake slithered across Glory's ankle. She snatched it and threw it away with her hand, shuddering.

Wait, hand? What happened to her?

Just to make sure she wasn't imagining things, she looked around at the other dragons. Sure enough, they had morphed into scavengers as well, but it was easy to tell who was who.

After a long round of staring at each other, Darkstalker, still way taller than all of them, announced, "Well then, welcome to your new home!" pointing to a large white building far off in the distance, with a large dome next to it, probably for the Games itself. "You will have about a week to get settled and train, and then the games begin!" He smiled, showing all his sharp white teeth, each one about the length of a seven year old dragon's forearm.

"Why you little scum ..." Tsunami snarled. "I hate you!"

"For what?" Darkstalker tilted his head innocently. "Providing you a nice free home with unlimited food and shelter for a week?"

"You know what she means." Winter, having turned back to his usual state now, snapped.

"Yeah!" Kinkajou screamed, face red. "I'd like to lob a million pineapples up your fat ugly snout right now!"

"I would love to see that." Glory grinned at the little rainbow haired scavenger for a moment. "It would suit him perfectly."

"All right, enough chitchat." Darkstalker said, waving his hands in the cool air. "Let's get settled in." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny square device. It lit up right away, and he tapped the screen a few times before putting it up to his ear, where the creepy bone earring still hung. "Hello? Yeah, we're here, hurry up. Bye."

A few seconds after Darkstalker put the thing back in his pocket, a large cart came zooming from the huge white building, coming towards them in full speed. Once it stopped in front of them, a short scavenger with mossy brown hair stepped out. "So these are the tributes, Your Majesty?" For a moment, it was surprising that his voice wasn't the high, squeaky soprano Glory was used to hearing.

"No, we're fluffy pink unicorns in disguise," she answered sarcastically. The human snorted, so she gave him a thumbs up, winking.

Darkstalker sighed. "Just get in."

---------------

Glory traced the fluffy mattress of the bed she was sitting on. Shortly after they arrived here, Darkstalker and the scavenger gave them a tour of the entire place, then suggested-well, more like ordered-that they go to their separate rooms.

As the RainWing queen recalled the past events of her life-growing up with her fellow "dragonets of destiny", meeting Deathbringer in the Ice Kingdom, establishing Jade Mountain Academy-something caught her eyes.

It was a picture, just a simple picture of a coconut, but it meant so much to her.

When Glory, Starflight, Clay, and Tsunami were only two, they had started writing stories and composing songs and drawing pictures about being free with no stupid destiny to complete-which Sunny fully disapproved of. Of course, their little pieces of art were soon found by the guardians and torn apart-Kestrel sometimes set them on fire-as a reminder to "stop dreaming and focus on what you're supposed to do," in Dune's words.

However, there was this one time where Glory was playing by the underground river, splashing around and getting her talons wet before she began hating it, when she suddenly felt something round underneath her. She picked it up.

It was a coconut, a large brown coconut, covered all over in matted hair. Glory had seen these fruits in scrolls before, but never actually got to touch one in real life. And now here it was, sitting contentedly in her talons. It must have come from far far away, maybe in the Kingdom of the Sea, but somehow it traveled away, straying into different rivers and streams, yearning to be free, just like her.

Her stomach begging hungrily, her mind racing with thoughts of Eat it! Eat it!, the coconut was simply irresistible. Glory poked a talon into the ripe fruit, cutting it immediately, and found a large brown leaf. She curled it up into a straw and put it down the hole in the coconut, and began drinking happily. All her thoughts, her worries, her sorrows, were washed away by this sweetness she never got to experience until ...

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING, YOU LAZY COW?" Kestrel boomed, suddenly standing before Glory.

"Drinking a coconut." She replied simply, hiding the fear that bubbled inside her.

"Without permission?!" The large SkyWing snarled, snatching the fruit from her. "You know how rules are here. Now go to where we have battle training. Now."

Muttering softly, Glory dragged her feet up to the battle training place, pitiful thoughts filling her mind.

Sure, it was a stupid coconut. Sure, it wasn't that much of a big deal. But that coconut was a symbol of freedom that Glory never got until she escaped with everyone else, out into the wilderness, and finally in the Rainforest Kingdom. It was freedom that Glory had thought she'd have forever.

Until Darkstalker came along with these terrible Hunger Games.

A/N: Hi there, how was this chapter? Bad? Nice? Okay? Anyways, I'm gonna make a page that shows what everyone looks like in scavenger form in the next chapter. Or, if you have any suggestions already, then you can comment below. And that's it, bye!
