Later the next day, Lianna was walking around, upset over Magikarp. However, she came across a Marill. But unlike her rival Lisa's Marill, this one was a light green Marill. It was a rare shiny Pokémon, shiny Pokémon are Pokémon of a different color and those who find shiny Pokémon would consider themselves lucky. Lianna then noticed the Shiny Marill. "Oooh... hi there." Lianna said in awe, holding out berries. "You look just like my friend's Marill, but light green!" Lianna said happily. "Mar!" Shiny Marill explained happily. "You wanna be my friend?" Lianna asked the Shiny Marill. Shiny Marill nodded happily. "Okay!" Lianna explained, tossing a Pokéball at the Shiny Marill. Shiny Marill was caught.

"My sweet Shiny Marill... it would be a replacement Magikarp." Lianna said happily. "I wanna catch some more pals!" Lianna said with a big smile on her face. She turned to the forest to call out for wild Pokémon. "Anyone wanna be friends with me?" She called out loud. No one answered sadly. "Oh..." Lianna said, going deeper into the forest. There were several little green caterpillar Pokémon known as Caterpie out and about. "Oooh!" Lianna said in awe again, pulling out another berry. The Caterpie looked up blankly. Lianna approached a Caterpie. The Caterpie Lianna approached started to cry. "D-don't cry!" Lianna explained sadly. Lianna picked up the same Caterpie and rocked it back and forth to sleep. The Caterpie quickly fell asleep. Lianna used a Pokéball on the sleeping Caterpie. It was caught and sent to Professor Bloom.

Lianna smiled and then noticed a few berries growing on a bush. These were Pecha berries, berries known to cure poison. Lianna goes to pick a couple Pecha berries. Then a little Poison type Pokémon known as Nidoran came out. "Oh hi there!" Lianna explained happily. "Ni." The Nidoran said. "Boy Nidoran are purple and girl Nidoran are blue." Lianna explained to the Nidoran. This Nidoran was a blue Nidoran, which meant it was a girl. "Oh. You're a female Nidoran." Lianna said, holding up a Pecha berry. The Nidoran ate the Pecha berry. "Wanna be my friend?" Lianna asked the Nidoran. She nodded happily. Lianna used a Pokéball on Nidoran. She was caught by her, and like the Caterpie, Nidoran was sent to Professor Bloom's lab.

Lianna looked around and saw a nearby daycare, which are places where people own eggs and breed Pokémon. "Hmm? What's this?" Lianna asked curiously as she approached the daycare.
